Chapter Text
It's the year Hogwarts hosts the Triwizard tournament again, and it means other students from different schools will grace the castle walls.
Everyone was buzzing with excitement with the thought of joining the games, or even with just the chance of meeting new people. Hansol on his seventh-year is an eligible candidate, however the prize being a cup and the coveted "eternal glory" was not enticing enough for the Ravenclaw. The 1,000 galleons, being another incentive almost pulled him in but decided it was not enough to potentially be burnt by a dragon, or drowned and stabbed with a trident by a merfolk.
Being a muggle-born he only knew about the existence of the Wizarding World after receiving his Hogwarts letter. A fantasy world others could only dream was the reality for him.
As stereotypical as it is, him being a Ravenclaw, he spent half of his first year in the Library exploring and digging everything about the world of magic. The society, the art of healing and of course the Magical beasts.
His routine were classes- the library- the common-room. The ravenclaw preferred solace and their home-works but Hansol's first friend was then the chatty Gryffindor Quidditch Keeper Boo Seungkwan. He became a dependable Captain on their sixth year and now the Head boy of The Lion House.
They met during their third year, Seungkwan was struggling while searching for a book for their homework in Divination. He was pacing back and forth on the same aisle for the fourth time, when Hansol stepped in and offered help.
The Gryffindor wanting to express his gratitude was about to talk his ears off but was shushed by the librarian. Afraid to be thrown out, he just stuck on Hansol's side and pulled him to introduce to his friend group when they were done. The ravenclaw turned him down but the keeper was already dragging him to the benches where four other students from various houses were bundled up.
Them being from different houses was interesting enough, and despite not being a fan of Quidditch he still recognized two faces. The rising star of Gryffindor House, the Kim Mingyu and Lee Seokmin.
The then Fourth Years were the Chaser and Beater duo, them being in synch and doing amazing plays on-field and being inseparable and best friends off field. They were popular among the student body even the not so social Hansol heard of them.
Beside them were their friends, Xu Minghao and Hong Jisoo. The Slytherin and Hufflepuff eyed Hansol curiosly at first.
It took a lot hanging out though but they became good friends with the Ravenclaw. Minghao's penchant for arts and reading, Hansol was always able learn new things from him. While Jisoo also a muggle-born, guided Hansol and became his voice of reason and he often confided in him.
Him and Seungkwan being younger they are now left in their Seventh Year, and their senior Gryffindor friends went off as pro Quidditch players, while Minghao and Jisoo opened a Cafe at Hogsmead. It is already earning a fortune despite its first year because of the famous Chaser and Beater Duo, their now boyfriends were endorcing it every chance they get.
He made his way into the great hall with Seungkwan by his side, he's animatedly telling Hansol now how great would it be if he'll be able to manage his Head Boy duties and being a Tri-wizard Champion.
"I'm not good at time management so i'll probably flunk my N.E.W.T.s Sollie, but why not you send your name"
Hansol just gave his friend a pointed look "I'm not athletic enough to do the tasks"
Seungkwan wanted to argue more and convince him, stating it'll be enjoyable enough for him to cheer for his bestfriend.
"I can conjure spells enough Kwan-ah, but the aptitude for sports are for Dokyeom and Mingyu-hyung"
The Gryffindor is still pouting at him but he continued " and you already have two Pro Quidditch friends, you don't want to be overshadowed with someone who has "eternal glory" now, don't you"
Seungkwan, the ever Gryffindor laughed at his implication, "You have a point Sollie, I wont enjoy that"
The Ravenclaw just smiled and proceeded to his table, bidding goodbye to his friend as their dinner awaits. Shifting his gaze unto the front he can also see that the whole faculty is present.
Their Headmaster is already in the center probably about to announce the arrival of the other schools.
"Students, it is the year our hallowed halls will witness and be the host of the friendly competition, a tradition for hundred's of years"
The headmaster spoke about it with pride, went on and on about how it has maintained the good relationship of the three schools for a good ten minute.
The Durmstrang were introduced then and their students entered the halls with a choreographed dance and their flashy cane dance.
Hansol scrambled his thought if he heard anything from Seungkwan regarding their school's performance, the Ravenclaw only hoped it was not similar to the Durmstrang as cool as their cane dance was, something was very off putting with the handstands, acrobatics, and sudden jumping.
The next school was the Beauxbatons, even just from standing they were already exuding elegance, unlike the first school they were composed of both girls and boys.
When they started their routine what captured his eyes though was the brunette in the middle, he was captivating with every sway, and turn. Hansol couldn't tear away his gaze as it followed the boy's movement.
As the ravenclaw regained his composure he was able to hear the melody playing, the Beauxbatons boy was perfectly dancing hitting every beat.
Hansol knew arts, appreciated it and often discussed it with his Minghao-hyung. He was familiar with the Muggle world's artist too.
What was that slang he once heard from his sister?
Ah yes, almost as if watching Leonardo Da Vinci paint the Mona Lisa.
That's the best Hansol could come up with whilst being almost enchanted by the boy's movement, it must be because of how elegant and polished his dancing was, his eyes were also sparkling with passion.
Someone so passionate, and graceful, and beautfiful. The Ravenclaw just heard his thrumming heart booming along with the beating of the drums.
As he take his bow to signal the end of the performance, their gazes met the Beauxbatons boy gave him a smile, his eyes even disappearing in the process.
Hansol's brain was left scrambling for another muggle slang to describe what ever he was feeling.
