Timeline- The beginning- the boys run away from their birth parents, meet splinter, learn their real family history The rise (lmao) - the boys serve as vigilante heroes as the foot clan comes back into power The invasion- The Kraang invasion of New York The Fall (future)- the peaceful years after the invasion. Crime is low and the boys have integrated with society as its heroes
**Ninja Power notes- referred to as ninpo or mystic powers. They are a mystic art wielded by descendants of the ancient Japanese clans, Hamato, Usagi and Oroku (foot clan). This power is tied to the ancestors and relies heavily on spiritual connection. This ninpo is wild and unpredictable and often needs to be grounded to their chosen weapon to wield, but with training can be used on its own
Raphael- 18 in present day, Mad Dogs leader until a few years before the Kraang invasion (20 ish). Oldest Hamato brother, he can change his size dramatically and can focus his ninpo on specific parts of his body, ie. his arms. He wears his hair in long braids with a red bandana and two gold beads. He has two helix piercings and his right eyebrow pierced. He has a large scar on his chest from childhood and one on his left arm from the invasion.
The beginning- Raph is the first born of the next Hamato generation. Before the twins are born his life is very lonely, his parents are often neglectful and he doesn’t ever really have a proper childhood. Once the twins are born, he seeks to become the best big brother to them. He's very protective over Donnie especially as he gets hurt much easier. Once Mikey’s born, their parents become borderline abusive. Raph often ends up taking the fall for everything, not wanting his little brothers to be hurt. His punishment is often being locked away from his brothers, leading to Raph's fear of the dark, claustrophobia, and intense separation anxiety. Eventually, NYC CPS finds out about the abuse and the boys learn they’re going to be separated if they go to foster homes. Raphael (5) the twins (4) and Mikey (3) all run away before they can be separated. Raph sparks his ninpo to defend his brothers on the nyc streets, and eventually they meet their new father, splinter
The Rise- As the oldest and first to spark his ninpo, Raph serves as the leader through their teenage years. His separation anxiety only worsens through the missions with his brothers often getting injured or going out on their own. Raph struggles with this fear and ends up lashing out at Leo a lot through their early teens. During his late teens, Raph meets Artemis and the two fall in love
The Invasion- Raph runs a lot of the rescue missions during the invasion, helping survivors by lifting whole buildings to free people from the rubble. He ends up in many arguments with Leo over how to properly lead the resistance and often uses himself as a human shield to protect anyone and everyone, leading to (accompanied by many childhood scars) his scar on his left arm. He had rubble collapse on him in a rescue mission and ended up with a steel beam in his arm. Donnie operated immediately. Raph’s arm has some electronic workings inside, but you’d never know (Donnie’s fuckin good at this by now). He and artemis get engaged during this time
The Fall- after the Kraang (24) he’s still engaged to Artemis (the two haven’t planned a wedding yet) and the two own their own gym together. They have a german shepherd together (raph wants to adopt another dog, Artemis wants to adopt a kid)
Leonardo- 17 in present day, Mad Dogs leader. Second youngest brother, his ninpo allows him to create portals (purely spatial, no time portals). Leo dyes his hair blonde and wears it in long braids with curly bangs and a ponytail. He has vitiligo around his eyes, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees primarily. He has his firsts pierced and his nose. He occasionally wears blue beads in his hair.
The beginning- Leo and Donnie are practically inseparable from birth, something their parents hate. The two are often forced apart. Leo is constantly harassed due to his vitiligo and called insults by his parents for his appearance. Leo tries to help Donnie when he’s hurting but often can’t due to them being separated, leaving raph to care for his twin. The two have slight twin telepathy while apart. Leo knew he was trans from a young age, but only ever told Donnie about it until they move in with splinter. The Rise- leos ninpo is much harder to control, due to its powerful nature, so his is mostly tied to his weapons, he has trouble (even in future) summoning it without his odachi to ground it. ** see notes in ninpo. During his younger teen years, (somewhere from 15-16) he meets and later dates another boy who ends up abusing and taking advantage of him. Leo miscarries him and his exes' kid at 16. Leo becomes really hypersexual after they inevitably split (with the help of his brothers) and has a lot more anxiety around dating romantically. At 17, he meets Usagi and he learns what love actually is.
The Invasion- Leo serves as the leader of the resistance during the invasion. He feels to blame for the whole invasion as his negligence helped open the portal all those years ago. Casey serves as his right hand with Usagi as his bodyguard.
The Fall- Leo runs a tea shop in NYC Chinatown with his husband Yuichi and twins Jotaro and Lucrezia. He still does nightly patrols of the city due to his anxiety about another attack, but is much more stable than he was during the invasion.
Donatello- 17 in present day, second oldest brother. His ninpo allows him to create anything he can imagine in his head (if he knows how to build it irl he can make it with his ninpo). His ninpo can be used without a grounding weapon, but due to his love of tech Donnie doesn’t learn this until much later. He wears his hair natural with a ponytail and his curly front bangs. He has one helix and his firsts pierced but often takes them out due to the sensory issues with them and how they feel with his headphones on.
The beginning- Donnie was born with arthritis, so his childhood was spent in pain due to his parents neglect. Once his parents realized how smart he was, they often separated him and Leo to constantly test and quiz him, with harsh punishments if he didn’t live up to their expectations. His parents knew he was autistic but never told him, instead yelling at him anytime he expressed autistic traits, like lack of eye contact, touch aversion,or info dumping abt a hyperfixation. Donnie was/is a fan of touch like hugs, but his parents forced touch made him iffy around it.
The Rise- Donnie eventually learns he’s autistic and goes through a rough period due to the realization and trauma from his birth parents. Donnie spends a lot of his time shut in his lab building things, and he develops insomnia that sticks with him into adulthood. He primarily uses tech as a teen and as such is the last to fully spark his ninpo in the invasion, but second to use it without his weapon.
The Invasion- Donnie runs the intelligence and tech side of the resistance, focusing on data collection and defensive technology. He rarely sleeps or eats and his joint issues become much worse as he overuses his ninpo. Donnie gets deathly ill during this time, due to him not taking care of himself. Leo tries to take care of him the most during this time but can’t due to his role as a leader. Mikey or Casey often end up taking care of him and he eventually makes a full recovery with only minor permanent damage. During this time Casey and Donnie hit it off and start “seeing each other” (donnie doesn’t like labels all that much, “dating” feels weird to him)
The Fall- Casey and Donnie are still seeing each other, though donnie is willing to call it dating. Donnie's made a full recovery since the invasion with minimal muscle damage, he’s made himself braces and supports to help on more painful days. He works as a freelance coder, doing side jobs here and there. He’s designed plenty of software anonymously and does in fact run about half the government by himself.
Mikey- 16 in present day, youngest Hamato brother. His ninpo is really only limited by his mind, as a teen he primarily controlled his mystic chains, allowing him to lift and throw whole buildings, but as he got older it manifested into the ability to control all the elements, including time itself. He has short strawberry blonde, curly hair he wears in a bandana most of the time. He does his own piercings and colors his hair on occasion so they change from time to time.
The beginning- Mikey doesn’t remember much from his time with his birth parents, but knows how his brothers feel about it so he doesn’t bring it up often. Mikey was the most sheltered of the boys, due to his older brothers always making sure he never got hurt. Mikey was born with a congenital heart defect, another reason his brothers shelter him so heavily.
The Rise- Mikey was babied all through his early teens, but his brothers stopped as his ninpos started surpassing them. He learned to express himself through art and started doing side jobs painting murals at a young age to make ends meet. Mikey is the first Hamato brother to come out to the family (he’s pan and poly) to which almost all of the boys immediately come out as well (one of splinters favorite memories lmao)
The invasion- Mikey leads the defensive side of the war, primarily participating in turf wars to regain lost territory or to aid in rescue missions with Raph. His mystic powers make him the main target of many kraang attacks. He is prone to overusing his powers, risking damage to his heart and causing nerve damage in his hands. He serves as a healer for the resistance, but ends up in the infirmary almost as much as he heals other people due to his constant overexertion. (donnie loses his mind over this)
The Fall- Mikey's happy in his little polycule. His hands shake alot due to overuse during the invasion, leading to him having to relearn how to draw and paint with his nerve damage. Mikey works as a pediatric nurse during the later parts of the day and he absolutely adores his job.
**Hamato Yoshi (ie Splinter)- 44 in present day. Adoptive father of the boys and Piebald, biological father of Karai.
The beginning-Yoshi’s mother and father left at a young age to fight Shredder and never returned, leaving Yoshi to learn Ninjutsu from his grandfather and harness his ninpo. Eventually, the foot clan rose to take over Japan and Yoshi, one of the last remaining Hamato, had to flee to America. In America, he lives in hiding in a small apartment. As the Oroku move to America, Yoshi takes in young children who’ve lost parents in the foot clan attacks on New York, taking in Piebald first. Eventually, he runs into the four boys while they're living on the streets and takes them in, treating them like his own sons and training them under the Hamato name.
The Rise- Yoshi meets Draxum in a trip to the underground (I’ll introduce this when I set up Big Mama’s character) and the two have an enemies to friends moment. Draxum helps the boys harness their ninpo and connect with their ancestors, healing their connection to the Hamato clan as they almost turned away from it entirely after what the boys went through because of their parents.
The Invasion- Splinter doesn’t do much fighting at all during the invasion, as he’s mostly kept inside the base and heavily guarded. He is the main strategist through the rebellion and regarded with utmost respect by all.
The future- idk he probably marries Big Mama and is a silly grandpa to his grandkids
Yuichi- 18 in present day, He is an only child and youngest member of the Usagi clan. His parents were killed when he was young (haven’t worked out how). Yuichi lived with his auntie in Japan until setting out on his own at 16 to become a Samurai. He has long white hair that he wears in a high ponytail. He has no piercings when he meets Leo.
The beginning- Yuichi doesn’t know much about his past, just that his auntie raises him and he has his pet tokage, spot. When Yuichi turned 15, his aunt revealed his heritage to him. Yuichi learns about his ancestry and the sacred role of the samurai in his culture. He immediately starts training.
The Rise- at 16, Yuichi sets out as all samurai do. He makes his way over to America when he hears about the rise of the Oroku (foot clan) once more. (The ninjas and samurai never got along, but the Oroku were hated by almost everyone in ancient Japan) Yuichi meets Leo during a surveillance mission and it’s love at first sight. Neither of them know the other's history, until they both recognize their clans symbols. It’s very romeo and juliet for awhile, but splinter says “fuck ancient history” and then leo and Yuichi come out as a couple.
The Invasion- Yuichi fights alongside Leo as his bodyguard, due to Leo’s recklessness. Yuichi helps lead whole squads alongside his partner. Yuichi absolutely wants to get married, and even asks Leo a few times, saying how “it’s the end of the world, if I die I want to die by your side,” but leos so gd scared of losing him he turns the proposal down everytime. Yuichi spends a lot of his time trying to get leo out of his own head
The Fall- Leo and Yuichi do get married almost as soon as the Kraang invasion is over. The Two run a tea shop in New York’s Chinatown and decide they want to settle down. At 24, their twin babies Luci and Jotaro are born.
Lucrezia- Luci is the oldest twin by 15 seconds. She has blonde wavy hair and the Hamato freckles. She has lighter skin than her dad Leo and light blue eyes
Baby stage- She is a friendly and bubbly little girl who loves cuddles and playing with her uncles. She loves to move and dance and babble along to whatever song her papa Yuichi is singing.
Toddler stage- Luci is absolutely a runner, if she sees somebody she wants to say hi to she will take off at top speeds, leaving her dads to chase after her. Leo braids her hair often. She loves having bows and beads in her hair and Leo and Yuichi let her put clips in their hair too. She loves when her Uncle Raph spins her around or tosses her up in the air. She loves hugs and kisses. She’s very clingy, especially with uncle donnie, much to his confusion. She loves wearing clothes and hair accessories her uncle mikey and his partners sew for her.
Jotaro- Joey is the youngest of the twins. He’s smaller than his sister Luci and has Leo’s vitiligo in a similar pattern. He has curly blonde hair and lighter skin than his dad. He has light blue eyes
Baby stage- Joey is a quiet and shy baby. He gets sick very easily, leaving Leo worrying over him constantly. He's not an easy sleeper and often gets rocked to sleep while Leo reads a book or sung to sleep by Yuichi.
Toddler stage- Jotaro isn’t sick as often, but Leo still fusses over him frequently, with Yuichi often having to calm him down. Joey reminds Leo a lot of Donnie when they were younger, so tiny and sickly. Leo doesn’t braid Joey’s hair often as he doesn’t like the feeling of it. Joey is still quiet and shy around everyone but his dads, with one exception. His uncle Donnie. Donnie doesn’t entirely know why, but he doesn’t mind Jotaro touching him as much as he minds when Luci gets clingy. Joey and Donnie often take naps together whenever Donnies over, it’s one of the few times Joey falls asleep easily. Whenever Donnie baby sits, Joey loves to sit in the front of Donnies hoodies as he’s working. Leo’s asked Donnie a few times if he thinks Jotaro is somewhere on the autism spectrum, with Donnie only shrugging and saying it runs in the family.
Artemis- 17 in present day, genderfluid. Their main weapon is a japanese bow and arrow. Their front bangs are dyed teal and they wear their hair half up in a ponytail. They have 3 helix piercings The Beginning- Artemis grew up with only their dad who taught them archery, and their mom died in childbirth. They’re originally from out of the state but moved with their dad at 16.
The Rise- Artemis was new to the state and didn’t really know anyone, so obv they were on a mission to make friends. The Oroku clan were on the rise when Artemis and their dad moved, and clan attacks were becoming increasingly common. Artemis got caught up in one and that's how they met the Hamato brothers.
The Invasion- Artemis occasionally aids Raph in rescue operations, but primarily stays at base as a guard. They were at base when word came in that raph had gotten severely injured and they needed a team to remove him from the rubble. They had to watch as Mikey had to move what seemed like and entire building off of Raph’s arm. They had to watch everyone else realize Raph had a metal pole going straight through his left arm. They got to be the first thing Raphs newly fixed hand got to hold after the surgery.
The Fall- Raph and Artemis are engaged and run a gym together. Donnie’s work holds up and Raph’s arm makes a full recovery with only a gnarly scar left. The two adopt a German shepherd named Venus and settle down in the city.
