Summary
Rowena Snow ends up stranded north of the Wall, after a series of unfortunate events she is found by a ginger giant, only a few years older than her, that insists her best chance at survival is to follow him to where the Free Folk have gathered in the Skirling Pass.
Rowena thought she knew her place in the world and what fate had in store for her as the bastard daughter of Lord Stark. Beyond the Wall she finds that much in the world is not what it seems, including her very existence and future. She discovers both the power and insignificance of blood; that magic permeates their world, closer to Old Nan’s stories than the maester’s history books.
Things aren’t as they seem in the world when shadows walk and trees whisper, when fire freezes and ice burns. Rowena, with her family and friends, stand at the crux of magic, prophecy, and the gods.
