It had been cold that night. Cold like tonight. That was worth noting because I had experienced cold before, all kinds of it in fact. There was the stabbing kind; like icicles being thrust into my skin. There was the cloying kind; like mercury being poured down my throat. There was even a warm kind, believe it or not. It was like a blanket, lulling me into sleep. All to say, I knew cold. So the fact it was sticking out to me, both that night and this, meant something was up. Maybe that something was going to change
