Perfect By Design

Summary:

Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex is the largest, flashiest, and most infamous theme park-arcade-mall-pizza parlor around. Despite the company’s countless controversies, rumors, and theories surrounding it, the Pizzaplex is at its highest point in business. Estelle is no stranger to the questionable choices and hidden secrets circulating the company, but even still when a great job opportunity arises for her right when most needed, the pros overshadow the likely cons, even considering the risks. For now...

But there’s something adeptly cloaked within the walls of the Plex and its targets seem to be its animatronic icons. Stelle, having grown attached to them, makes it her mission to uncover the tangled web of secrets and mystery underlying every bit of the Pizzaplex. But both the animatronics and what feels like the universe itself try to stop her at every attempt.

But despite the danger, Stelle refuses to allow herself to be forced out of helping her friends and restoring their lives to how they once were. She’ll use everything in her power to do whatever she can. And she’ll need everything in her strength to face the very present, very real threat that soon turns its eyes onto her.

Chapter Text

Oh to be created perfect by someone’s design.

A desire every being yearns for and seeks out purpose within in some form. To be made perfect by one’s design is to be made without fault, it is to be made with intention and a point. Created from the barren and useless scraps of life’s parts bestowed on the world, and crafted into something magnificent, beautiful, and lovely.

Something purposeful.

They were each created this way. Meant to be perfect by each of their designs. Meant to replicate humanity in a new foundation, a new form, a new intelligence. They might as well be human in that regard. Because they were intended to be perfect by design – meant to be complete, ideal, and faultless machines, the pinnacle of mechanical ingenuity and success. They were meant to be. But just as humanity is not perfect by God or the universe’s design – with their faults, defects, failures, and shortcomings – these machines too fall just short of their perfection, intended to reach it but held back by just one error. One mistake. One misstep.

To anyone looking from the outside in, they appear as the peak of the complete ideal automated intelligence. But those looking from the inside will come to see the imperfections, the errors, the mistakes, just as humans carry. In that regard, they may as well be human.

For as much as we wish, we cannot be created perfect by design.

But perhaps…

Just maybe…

We may come to be seen this way through someone else’s eyes.

Fazbear Entertainment's Mega Pizzaplex is no stranger to controversy and conspiracy. Despite that, the entertainment center has been at its peak in business and popularity and only continue to garner more by the day. I’m no stranger to the rumors, theories, and whispers that surrounds  the long-standing infamous company as well. But despite that , I still somehow found herself applying for a position at the Mega Pizzaplex after having to leave my previous job... After all, unfortunately bills don’t pay themselves and neither will my college classes.

So when coming across the proposed staff opening with its pretty great pay, not-too-demanding duties, surprisingly good benefits, and flexible schedule that would work well with my online class schedule, I couldn’t help but look into it. Doing plenty of research before a final decision though, ensuring I knew exactly what she would be getting into before signing my life away—so to speak. I know plenty of the company's history, it’s unlikely there’s anyone who doesn’t, but I make work of looking more deeply in than I had in times past for just the fun conspiracies and rumors. Through everything I’ve found though I ultimately decided that—while it is by any means the most reliable and upstanding company there is—there still seems to be no largely outstanding alarms I could note to signal that I should probably move on looking somewhere else.

So… I apply for a job.

And about a week and a half later I’ve found myself being officially employed and working shifts at the Mega Pizzaplex in whatever tasks and roles they need filled. Mainly they give me janitorial duties, tasks running ticket booths, or responsibilities manning the gift shops. One shift late into my first week, I’m placed in charge of helping run the Glamrock shows in the audio and lights booth on the top floor since one of the usual tech crew had to call in sick and it wasn't any exceptionally complicated tasks that I’m helping with.

This is how I’m first able to meet the most popular animatronic figures of the Pizzaplex—The faces of the entire entertainment center. The Glamrocks are as impressive and astounding as I expected them to be. They’re as captivating in appearance and ability as they are in personality. And despite having researched all I could about them beforehand, that did nothing to stop me from being fascinated by their eerily humanistic AI.

All imposing in showmanship and personality, definitely living up to their reputation as the Pizzaplex’s icons. Although their “human” side reflects well beyond just friendly appearance and delves into very particular characteristics and behaviors. It only makes to pique my interest more and more as to Fazbear Entertainment’s reasoning behind making them almost…flawed in personality, the way a living person would be.

Despite all my preparations for this job, it seems that everything the Mega Pizzaplex has to offer was still going to surprise me, regardless of my hard efforts. One of these surprises is once again quick to show its face when I’m tasked manning the Little Stars Gift Shop that stands outside the Superstar Daycare.

When researching their animatronics, I had found multiple announcements that the Daycare would be temporarily halting naptime operations but neglected to voice the cause. Each announcement had been only a few months after each other for the past year. Between helping customers and restocking shelves, I couldn’t help but notice during the day that not once do the lights inside ever dim throughout the course of my shift until closing. Which I assume means the Daycare seems to have stopped naptime schedules again for the time being, but there’s still nothing throughout the place I can find that explains exactly why. It strikes me as incredibly odd considering I haven’t seen much of anything else written from the company that discusses either the issue or the Daycare Attendant that ran the naptime duties. Despite the countless merchandise for both celestial faces, it seems fairly evident that the company is eager to keep all discussions of the Daycare’s night-themed figure to a minimum.

Regrettably, I eventually only come to learn more as fate becomes increasingly uncertain. Soon wrapped up in the secrets of the Daycare—secrets that, unfortunately for me and the safety of my life, are intrinsically wired throughout every wall and ingrained into every malfunctioning system inside the frame of the Pizzaplex.

As well as buried beneath every animatronic’s well-concealed mask.

A mask that I come to learn I’ll need to forge for myself. Before the ones around me drop to reveal the truths that will very surely lead me to ruin if I don’t manage to find them on my own first.
