Summary
There is a constant sound in his ears -beep, beep, beep. He can also hear distant voices, but he doesn’t recognize them.
When he opens his eyes, he blinks rapidly to adjust his sight. The room is almost dark, just a ray of sunshine coming through the window. He is confused: this room is not familiar, this is not his bed, and the walls are white, unlike the soft blue of his bedroom’s walls.When he tries to move his hands, they are weird. Something is holding them back. He lifts them and sees cables and an IV line connected to his left arm.
He panics.
