"How much longer do we have to wait?" Ally demanded, aware that her boredom was shining through. "Come on, Mom. I want to go home. I have a Frontier Girls meeting."
"I know, Ally," her mother sighed. "Try to be patient. Your father doesn't want to be here alone."
"Her father doesn't want to be here at all," Dad snapped. "Come on, Ally. We can go home. I don't want to be sitting around in the emergency room any longer, waiting for answers that might not come."
"Ray, it's your father."
"So? Ally's got her meeting. They can always call."
