   This is wonderful. Gorgeous. What a world you've made with the soundscape and these layered, spinning, pulsing clips. (This book has been sitting on my TBR shelf for far too long, and this vid has decided for me that tonight is the night I finally pick it up!)

   omg vidder, I have watched this so many times and I am SPEECHLESS at how good this is. So many clips! So many different stage performances!!! I genuinely can't even imagine the sheer effort that went into finding all those clips and how much time it must have taken, but the intricacy of the editing, the interweaving story, the dream theatre, the framing! I'm just!!!!! I will come back to squee more but thank you SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS AAAAAAHH and for the love you put into it and truly representing this incredible book

      I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! Thank YOU for the prompt, I'd never even heard of the book but your request made me curious enough to get it from the library, and then I just couldn't stop thinking about how one could possibly vid it! I'm really glad the stage performances and the framing worked for you, I thought a lot about how to translate those aspects of the book properly to vid form. :D

      Thank you so much! The song choice was one of those where I spent a while going "hmm I need a song kind of like this one..." and then couldn't find anything I liked as much as the example, so I just went with that!

    This intrigued me so much during Festivids that I ordered the book -- it took me a while to get around to it, but I just finally finished the book this afternoon, and came straight here to watch the vid! I'm just in awe at how amazing this is, and how you've found so many clips that perfectly evoke the book! So incredibly cool and just perfectly done!

    Ooooooh I LOVE this. I haven't read the book but went and skimmed the wikipedia summary to get a sense before I watched this, and the way you interwove all the pieces - opening with the frame story, the moon, the turtle - it was such a beautiful and deft manipulation of the visual elements of the story. Using dance and performance art was SUCH a great idea! It really gave the sense of storytelling/performance/mythicness/epicness to the vid. Really beautiful!

    Just looking at your list of source materials has me in awe. I have not read the book yet and THIS MAKES ME EAGER TO.

    I just... so many dance performances, like other people have said. SO MANY! Making them work together. The attention to TIMING that this took!

    I don't know the source, but this vid is beautiful, gorgeously put together and impressive in it's seamless blending into a whole - it really gives me a sense of the place and intrigues me to want to know more and check out the book.
