Chapter Text
Adam rubbed the tiny bump. “What am I going to do with you?” His fourth pregnancy and fifth kid, hopefully just a fifth kid. Adam wasn’t sure what they’d do if it was another set of twins.
He loved their kids, but the girls were barely walking, and the boys were into everything as full-on toddlers. Adam was just going to get bigger and the kids more active.
“It’ll be okay, starshine.” Lucifer curled up next to him in bed, placing a hand on the small hard bump. “We can hire a nanny. Or maybe see about Charlie and Vaggie helping out more? No more heaven knocking on our door. And we have the queen’s guard now. We can see about maybe finding a nanny among them.”
“I was thinking about losing weight before this.” He sighed.
Lucifer looked at him doubtfully. “Do I have to tell you how attractive I find you again?”
“Maybe.” Really, Adam just needed to feel reassured. He was supposed to be a full-fledged, sterile sinner now. When he used his wish from Lucifer to give him a vagina again, they didn’t think about God possibly piggybacking on it to make him fertile again as well.
He didn’t have a potential off switch anymore. At least before, Adam had to just wait out the bleeding after pregnancy and ovulating at the tail end of that bleeding, and he got his dick back. They might have taken four tries to get there, but he’d been in the clear. The curse broken!
But now he could, and he had, get pregnant again!
He just needed to hear and feel like Lucifer still loved him. Was still proud to have fucked the excess weight and stretch marks onto Adam’s stomach. Wasn’t pissed that he got pregnant again.
Rubbing Adam’s baby bump to comfort his husband, Lucifer looked Adam in the eyes. “Starlight, Adam, you are, and will forever be, the most handsome man I have ever met. What’s this all about?”
“Do you still love me? Even if I give birth to a million kids, will you still love me?” Adam’s lip started to quiver and tears started to well up in his eyes.
It was just the hormones, he tried to remind himself.
“Adam,” Lucifer’s hands cupped Adam's now sobbing face, “if you give birth to a million kids, it’ll be because I put them in you.” He leaned in and kissed his sensitive husband’s tears away. “At least now we know, and we can take precautions to avoid having more before we’re ready. And this time you get to enjoy the pregnancy. We can do things like having a real baby shower or shop. You can even give birth in a hospital, with all the drugs you could ever want.”
He sniffled as his nose started to run a bit from the crying. “Drugs?”
“Painkillers.”
He’d been so paranoid with the first three pregnancies that he hadn’t allowed anyone in until he was giving birth to twins and knew Lucifer wouldn’t have been able to handle it alone. He hadn’t even picked up the obvious hints Adam had dropped that there would be more than one.
But heaven, Sera, was dealt with. He could go to a hospital instead of giving birth in their marital bed like he had been. He could have drugs. The thought made him giddy.
Oh sweet, sweet painkillers. To give birth in comfort. It started to make him cry for an entirely different reason.
