Work Text:
Kun observes the way Sungchan's face is scrunched, clearly disliking whatever it was displayed in front of his screen. “What's got your face looking like that?”
Catching his attention, Sungchan briefly looks at the back of his manager's head before returning to his phone. “Jagi posted a new video on his Instagram. It's blowing up.”
The manager keeps his eyes steady on the road, chuckling at the information. “Isn't that good, Sungchan? He's getting engagements.”
The frown on the actor's face doesn't dissipate as he scrolls through the sea of comments mixed with praises and blatant flirting. “People are flirting with him in his comments, hyung. I don't doubt that it's the same with his direct messages.”
“And?” Kun makes a right turn, keeping all his attention on the road while speaking his thoughts out loud. “I'd find it amusing if you were actually jealous of that.”
Sungchan looks at his device one last time before shutting it off and looking out the van window. “I'm not.”
Somehow, Kun doesn't believe it. But he lets the actor brood as they drive to a familiar dance studio to pick up a certain someone Sungchan has been waiting for the entire day.

“Bye, Jisung-ah! Get home safe!”
“Bye!” Jisung waves goodbye to his friends, watching as they walk away together to eat pork belly as a reward for today’s hard work.
It’s Saturday, and their dance studio had been packed like never before – so much so that there was barely enough room to teach their choreographies even with their big studio. Jisung was appreciative of everyone who cheered him on every time he demonstrated his own choreographies for them to follow, eagerly mimicking his step-by-step tutorials and dancing with just as much passion as him.
It fills him with joy to witness many people sharing his passion in dancing, and he’s grateful to those who have expressed that the reason they even started or decided to swing by the studio was because of Jisung himself.
His instagram currently has fourteen thousand followers, with an average of twenty thousand likes per post. His latest post, however, has garnered more attention, with quarter of a million likes and almost a million views. His comments have also been filled with praises and positivity, much like his direct messages filled with inquiries about his dance studio and his dating status.
Naturally being a shy person, Jisung can’t help the flush on his cheeks and the red tip of his ears every time someone asks for a picture with him. He felt like a celebrity, and it was pleasant. He felt admired.
Jisung takes the same path everyday to get to his home. He walks a few blocks west from their dance studio and rounds the first right corner. Then, he travels the entirety of the straight path until he sees the familiar black van parked near a lamp post.
And without fail, underneath that flickering lamp post, there was always someone waiting, arm holding a coat for Jisung amidst the chilly December winter.
Today is no exception.
The person looks up from his phone and a warm albeit exhausted smile blooms on his face upon seeing the dancer arrive.
“Jagiya,” Sungchan calls lovingly, arms opening wide to receive the comfort he has longed for the whole day.
Jisung smiles wider than he ever did this day and waddles over to his boyfriend, arms wrapping around his torso and cheek resting on his shoulder.
He feels a kiss in his hair and a hand rubbing his shoulders, creating heat from the friction to keep him warm. “Your clothes are so thin, jagi. Aren’t you cold?”
“Freezing.” Jisung answers. “But I know you’ll always keep me warm at the end of the day, so I don’t bother bringing anything.”
The man frowns at the sweet sentiment. “I don’t like that. I’ll lend you my coat, jagi. Wear it everyday when you go to work.”
When Jisung pulls away from their hug, the aforementioned coat is then placed around his shoulders.
“Your coat is luxury, Sungchan.” The dancer chuckles as his hands interlace with Sungchan’s, arms swinging as they walk to the van. “I can’t show up to work in a Louis Vuitton coat and not get bombarded with questions.”
“So tell them the truth,” Sungchan’s brows crease lightly as he slides the van door open. “Your boyfriend lent it to you.”
Jisung enters the van first and sits down next to the window, and Sungchan follows to sit beside him. As Sungchan closes the door, Jisung replies, “The interrogation won’t stop there. If there’s anything my friends are, it’s that they are incredibly nosy. They might find out who you are.”
“Then let them.” Of course, Sungchan doesn’t care about his image — not when it concerns Jisung.
As if sensing the stressed reaction, Jisung meets the eyes of Sungchan’s manager through the rearview mirror.
“Hi, Kun-hyung,” Jisung greets with a small wave.
“Jisung,” Kun greets back with a nod as he starts to drive back to Sungchan’s penthouse.
Sungchan leaned against Jisung, head falling on his shoulder with his eyes closing from the fatigue from today’s schedules.
“Tiring day?” Jisung presses his cheek against Sungchan’s hair, fingers reaching to play with Sungchan’s.
“Very,” Sungchan answers, and the depletion of his energy is apparent. “I just want to go home with you, jagi.”
The dancer feels the guilt form in his stomach. “I have to go back to my apartment tonight.”
At that, Sungchan’s head raises from his shoulder, a displeased expression etched on his face. “What? Why?”
“My friends wanted to borrow some of my stuff and I left those at my apartment.”
“Can't you pick that up some other time?” Sungchan pleads. “Just let me have you tonight. Please, jagi.”
It must have been an extra tiring day for Sungchan that all he wants is to rest with Jisung after. Jisung wishes he could grant his wish.
“I'm sorry.” Jisung mutters.
The actor tries to mask his disappointment, but the irony comes in the form of him failing to cover it up — or maybe Jisung just reads him too well.
“Don't pout, jagi.” Jisung holds his face gently, heart squeezing at the fact that Sungchan is insistent in avoiding his gaze.
Kun’s eyes flicker to the rearview mirror. His eyes then return to the road and he says, “I can clear your weekend schedule, Sungchan.”
The actor turns to his manager with his brows raised in surprise. “Really? You can do that?”
“I don’t know.” Kun answers. “But I can try. I’ll clear it so you can spend time together on the weekend.”
“Oh, but I’ll be at the studio tomorrow,” Jisung regretfully states. “So I’ll only be able to arrive at the penthouse in the evening.”
Sungchan licks the inside of his cheek in frustration. The evening was too long of a time to wait.
Jisung looks at Sungchan. “Is that alright, Sungchan?”
Sungchan sighs. It’s as good as any.
“Yeah,” He mutters, leaning on the dancer’s shoulder again. “I’ll wait for you, jagi.”
—
“You really can't tell me anything? Just a little hint, I won't tell anyone.”
Sungchan chuckles as he swings their interlaced fingers while walking. “If I spoiled it for you, then how will you enjoy the movie?”
“I’d enjoy any movie you’re in.” Jisung attempts to wink at him, but it only makes Sungchan’s cheeks hurt from how big his smile has gotten.
“Then I want you to enjoy this one,” Sungchan and Jisung stop when they reach the front doors to Jisung’s apartment complex. “Without any spoilers.”
“Hm,” The dancer narrows his eyes. “Fine. You win tonight, Jung.”
The happiness never leaves the actor’s face, but it turns into something warmer and softer as he stares at his boyfriend. “I really can’t convince you to come home with me tonight, jagi?”
Jisung sighs. “I’m sorry.”
The actor nods, understanding. “Okay.”
His hands come to hold Jisung’s waist with Jisung’s arms wrapping around his neck, and they let themselves be lost in the quiet environment.
“I love you,” Jisung tells him. “You know that, right?”
“Of course.” Sungchan answers with ease. “I love you, too.”
Jisung is the one who leans in to kiss him, and for the nth moment, they get transported back to their first kiss, where Jisung was still a little unsure about his feelings and Sungchan felt troubled concerning his career. Their kisses became the reassurance that whatever happens in their lives, Jisung will always need Sungchan and Sungchan will always need Jisung.
They will always need each other.
Sungchan is the one who pulls away, absolutely breathless both from their kiss and Jisung’s clear affection.
“Good night, jagi.” Jisung kisses him one last time before peeling his body away from Sungchan and walking into his apartment building.
Sungchan is left standing in his place with an adoring grin for a few seconds before he decides to return to his van.
Little does he know, there was a camera ready to capture him the minute he showed his face.

manager-hyung is typing...
Sungchan shuts his phone off and redirects his attention to the dance instructor currently speaking in front who also happened to be the love of Sungchan's life.
Though Jisung is grabbing the attention of most students, some have redirected their attention towards the masked and capped actor. Their phones are not-so-subtly taking pictures and videos of him, so he makes sure to keep his posture straight while he listens intently to the tips being provided from the perspective of the experienced dancer.
Jisung pretends not to notice the way half of the class is distracted by the actor. It's a bit funny, though, because while they're busy making googly eyes at Sungchan, Sungchan is busy making googly eyes at him.
Jisung makes sure to limit his and Sungchan's interactions. When they started teaching in batches, he made sure to have his friends mentor the batch Sungchan was in. As it turns out, Sungchan didn’t speak much, and barely needed help to follow certain steps. Even if Jisung didn’t know who he was, he would have captured his and the attention of others with his quick wit and effortless groove.
“He’s handsome, huh?”
Jisung’s head turned so fast he swore he felt whiplash. His Jaemin-hyung is standing beside him with a teasing look, and Jisung feels his heart beat erratically.
“W-What?” Jisung tries to laugh it off and looks away from him so he doesn’t notice how flustered he’s become.
But Jaemin is nothing but observant. “You can’t stop looking at him. I get it, don’t worry. Not only is he good-looking, he’s good at dancing, too. He’s a total package.”
Seeing as Sungchan isn’t looking at him, the dancer allows himself to stare at him. With a small smile, he agrees. “Yeah. He is.”
“ Aigoo~” Jaemin coos, pinching Jisung’s cheek in a fit of cuteness-aggression. “Jisungie has a crush, hm?”
He laughs and swats at his friend’s hands on his face. “I don’t! Leave me alone, hyung!”
The other students find themselves cooing at the scene, admiring the dynamics between the long-time friends.
Sungchan is the only one who isn’t too happy about their closeness.
“Sungchan-ssi,” Mark, one of the choreographers coaching Sungchan’s batch, calls. “Can you do the last move, please?”
The actor nods and follows, cueing silent praises and gasps of awe at his skills.
“Try it like this, Sungchan-ssi.” Mark does the correct move for him to copy, and he copies the exact same moves.
“No, jagi,” Jisung interferes, turning around so Sungchan could follow him. “Your arms should just be chest level, don’t bring it up too high. It’s down, up, drop, and close.”
He watches through the mirror as Sungchan takes his advice, and he grins proudly when he sees his corrected moves. “There, that’s it.”
Sungchan’s eyes crinkles at his accomplishment, and the smile behind his mask is so wide that the joy is so evident even with his cover.
It’s only then did they both notice how quiet the studio has gotten, and the amusement from Jisung’s face drops when he spots everyone looking at him.
“Eh?” Jisung makes a curious noise.
Jaemin is the one who breaks the silence. With a shit-eating grin, he lets him know, “You called Sungchan-sii ‘jagi’.”
Oh.
Jisung turns the deepest shade of red ever humanly possible.
A fit of coos filled with teasing erupt within the room and Jisung feels weak in the knees.
The way Sungchan bends his head to look at the floor says he’s shy about it, but the truth is, he can’t stop smiling because despite his manager’s fears, it wasn’t him who ended up slipping.
—
“Thank you for coming, everyone! Please get home safely!”
At the end of the class, the choreographers all bid their students goodbye, thanking them for dropping by their studio for today. Some students have actually headed towards the exit to go home, but others have stayed back.
Had this been a normal day, Jisung would have been the reason — but because of their surprise visitor, all the attention had been redirected towards him.
Not that Jisung is upset about it. While it’s nice to be the star sometimes, he admits that his boyfriend is a better handler of the sudden surge of attention.
“Sungchan-ssi, you were really cool in Love 119!”
“Will Love Always Wins have a sequel?”
“Can you give us spoilers for your new movie?”
“Your character in Round&Round was really cool! Will you take more psychopathic roles in the future?”
Among the countless compliments and questions, there were also requests for pictures, autographs, or video shout-outs that Sungchan is too nice to decline.
His impromptu fanmeet, however, is keeping the choreographers from going home.
“Man, I just want to go home.” Jaemin whines under his breath, making his friends snicker.
“You can go, hyung,” Jisung feels bad even if it isn’t his or his boyfriend’s fault. “I’ll lock up.”
“Are you sure? You already locked up yesterday.”
“Yes, I’m sure. You’ve had a tiring week. You deserve to rest.”
Jisung then turns to his other friends. “You all do. I got this, you can go.”
They really can’t deny his kind sacrifice because he’s right, they’ve all had a very tiring week, and the offer is way too tempting for them to reject. One by one, they started to gather their things, bidding Jisung goodnight before piling out the door and away from the slowly-dispersing crowd.
Jisung continues to watch them at a distance with a small smile on his face. Sungchan was always grateful to his fans, and loved to give back to them the best he could. In this case, that was agreeing to their every request.
“Jisung-ssi,” There’s a voice behind him, and Jisung turns around to see one of his frequent students.
The dancer recognizes this one because he had been coming to their studio since the beginning, when their biggest student count had only gone up to 25. He’s shy, but receives compliments well and replies warmly whenever any of the choreographers praise him and his skills. If he was a bit more social, he could have been a close friend by now, seeing as he spends just as much time in the studio as Jisung and his friends.
“Oh, Sion-ah,” Jisung grins. “Aren’t you going home? It will only get colder outside the later it is.”
“I’m about to head home,” Sion says, and he’s fiddling with a piece of paper. “But I wanted to ask you something first.”
Jisung looks back at Sungchan and sees that there’s only a few people left. “Sure, go ahead.”
“Hyung...” The fact that Jisung isn’t looking at him is making it easier. So, Sion gains the courage to just blurt it out, “Let’s get coffee together!”
The dancer looks back at the student, both startled by his volume and his words.
And Jisung’s attention isn’t the only one he caught.
Sion's face grows red at his mentor’s expression. “W-Wait! I didn’t mean to sound l-like that, I just, um, I meant to ask if you would like to get coffee with me. Sometime.”
He’s clearly nervous, and Jisung doesn’t know why. It can’t be because he’s a “micro-celebrity” or whatever Donghyuck had called him, because Sion basically sees him everyday and Jisung is sure his antics have already shattered whatever idol-fantasy he might have had.
There’s nothing wrong with his request, so why not? “Of course, Sion. That would be nice.”
Immediately, the excitement blooms on the student’s face like he hadn’t just looked so hopeless mere seconds ago. “O-Oh! Okay! Um, thank you for agreeing!”
The piece of paper that Jisung has been so curious about is then slipped in his hands.
“I’ll see you around, Jisung-ssi.” Sion bows and bids him goodbye, running out the door with clear giddiness in his steps.
It makes Jisung giggle. Why on earth was he so happy that Jisung agreed to get coffee with him?
“What’s that?”
Jisung turns and sees Sungchan walking towards him. “What is what?”
“That.” Sungchan points to the paper in his hands, and the actor takes the opportunity to wrap his arms around Jisung’s waist when he holds the paper with both hands. Everybody has already left, and a scan of their surroundings told them they were now alone.
Jisung hums at what’s written. “It’s Sion’s number.”
“His number?” Sungchan repeats. “Why would he give you his number?”
“Well, he asked if we could meet up for coffee sometime.”
“What?” Sungchan parrots. “And you said yes?”
“Yeah?” Jisung’s forehead creases. “Why wouldn’t I?”
Sungchan pauses to look at his boyfriend for a few seconds.
Then, he calls. “Jagiya.”
“Mhm?”
“Did you know that you were asked out on a date?”
The confusion doesn’t leave Jisung’s face. “What? No, I wasn't. Sion-ie is a friend.”
“Sion-ie wants you to be his boyfriend.” Sungchan corrects. “He acts and looks at you like how I did in the beginning. And I was down bad for you during that time.”
Jisung rolls his eyes. “Yah, you're just saying that because you're jealous.”
“Of course, I'm jealous.” Sungchan admits, shameless. “But I'm also right. He likes you.”
“You're just overthinking.” Jisung tells him, raising a hand to comb through his hair. “He doesn't like me like that. And even if he did, I would never, ever leave my millionaire boyfriend.”
Sungchan squints at his lover. “You just love me because of my money.”
“Your dog, actually.” Jisung smirks, attempting to hide his real, silly, and in love smile. “I love Dal-ie with all my heart.”
“And I love you with all of mine.” Sungchan places his hand on top of Jisung's when the dancer's hand moves down to caress his cheek.
Sungchan speaks so clearly with his eyes. It's why he's one of the best actors in South Korea. He's able to deliver every emotion needed for scenes through every bit of himself — through his body language, his words, his reactions.
But Jisung's favorite will always be his eyes. Perhaps it's because he's always been close enough to truly appreciate how beautiful it is to see how he conveys himself through simple glances.
All Jisung can feel from Sungchan's gaze is love in its purest form, with warmth emanating from his body, amplified from the freezing weather to hug Jisung and warm him right up.
“Sungchan.”
“Hm?”
“I love you.” Jisung tells him, as easy as breathing. “Let’s go home, jagi.”
Sungchan's eyes light up.
He leans in to kiss Jisung, and they giggle against each other’s lips like two school boys kissing secretly in their classroom, free from the judgment of others.
“Oh, my god.”
But, as it turns out, they were not alone.
The couple freezes. Jisung looks first, and Sungchan follows, turning around to see that Jisung’s friends have all come back.
They saw them kissing.
...
They saw them kissing.
“Wow,” Jaemin comments lamely. “I did not expect that.”
“The jagi thing was... real, then?” Jeno wonders outloud.
The frozen dancer racks his brain for anything he can use to defend themselves, excuses he can make up to explain how this isn’t what it seems.
But there’s no other explanation. They were kissing.
“Um,” Sungchan makes a noise as he looks back and forth between Jisung and his friends, unsure of what to say.
“Sungchan-ssi.”
“Hm?”
“Are you... together with our Jisungie?”
“I... am...” Sungchan looks back at Jisung who legitimately looks like he’s about to break down. Or explode.
The actors look back to the group. “I am. We’re boyfriends.”
Everybody’s eyes were enlarged with their mouths opening wide in shock — including Jisung, who was inches away from him.
“I have so many questions.” Chenle squeals. “How did you two meet? Ah, so Kim Minjeong really isn’t your girlfriend? Or did you date before? Does this mean Jisung will get invited to walk on the red carpet and stuff now? Oh my god , is he gonna be rich now—”
“We prefer to keep our relationship private,” Sungchan interferes, seeing as Jisung currently does not have the capacity to tend to his friends’ inquiries . ”And, um, I hope that none of you will tell anyone about this. For Jisung’s sake.”
Sungchan has no problem telling the world that he’s a taken man. It’s only his manager and his boyfriend who are hesitant, and he respects their reservations.
Mark shrugs, dumbfounded. “Uh, sure, dude. I mean, Sungchan-ssi.”
The actor smiles politely. “Just Sungchan is fine. You must have a lot of questions right now. Unfortunately, we can’t answer any of it because Jisung is exhausted. So, we’ll be going now. Take care.”
He bows towards the group and guides an otherwise-still Jisung out of the studio and into his car.
The rest of Jisung’s friends stay in their places, unsure of what to do now that they know what they know.
“Hyung,” Renjun turns to Mark. “Don’t open the studio tomorrow.”
“Huh? Why?”
“Because,” Renjun says. “We’re gonna go to Jisung’s apartment and hear every detail.”

“If you tug on your hair any further, it’s gonna start falling out.”
Jisung stops his back and forth pacing to glare at his boyfriend who was already lying in bed, dressed in his stupid soft, silk pajamas with those stupid freaking glasses on his face. He makes Jisung want to punch a wall; but nonetheless, he removes his hands from his scalp.
It’s also worthy to note that Sungchan was holding his iPad, reading over the very reason why Jisung was crashing out. “It’s fine, jagiya. The article isn’t harmful. It just talked about how I attended the class.”
“There’s a video going viral of me calling you jagi. People are already shipping us! What if they actually realize that we’re together? It will be over for you!”
Sungchan chuckles. “Hey, my career isn’t that fragile. Coming out with a boyfriend will not damage it by a lot.”
“Oh my god,” Jisung whispers to himself, horrified by his realization. “What if Kun-hyung saw the article? He’s gonna kill me.”
“He adores you.” Sungchan is starting to get scared by how serious his boyfriend is about this. “Jisung-ah, come here.”
He pats the space next to him, and while the dancer’s mind is occupied by self-blaming, he still follows and sits next to Sungchan.
The actor sets the iPad on his nightstand and moves to wrap his arms around Jisung’s torso. “Jagiya, just calm down, okay? If it really bothers you, I’ll have them take the article and the video down. But there’s nothing harmful about any of it. They can ship us if they want.” He then shrugs. “It’s not my fault if we look good together.”
Jisung’s gaze refocuses and he slaps Sungchan’s shoulder, to which the actor yelps at, giggling afterwards.
“What? So what if I’m handsome, and you’re handsome? At least you’re being shipped with me instead of anyone else.”
The dancer squints at him. “Jealous freak.”
The actor reciprocates his actions. “Pretty hamster.”
Jisung rolls his eyes, but he can’t help but grin. “You’re being shipped with every actress you work with and you don’t see me being jealous over that.”
“Of course.” Sungchan leans upwards to leave a kiss on his lips. “Because there’s no reason for you to get jealous. Why would I ever leave my boyfriend who only loves me for my money and my dog?”
“You make me sound so bad.” Jisung murmurs, shuffling to lean on his forearms when Sungchan moves to hover over him, knee dipping in the space between his legs.
“Maybe I want you to be bad,” Sungchan mutters against his lips. “Or will you be a good boy for me instead?”
The dancer swallows. “I’ll be what you want me to be.”
Sungchan smirks. “Good boy.” He praises, before leaning down and locking their lips in a searing, messy kiss.
