Fighting the sting of tears, Reo pulled out his phone. There was only one person he could think of, the one constant in his life who wouldn’t turn him away.
The phone rang a few times before a familiar, sleepy voice answered. “Reo?”
“Nagi…” Reo’s voice wavered, the weight of his situation finally cracking his composed exterior. “I—I need a place to stay.”
There was a pause on the other end, and for a moment, Reo thought Nagi might decline. But then: “Okay. Where are you? I’ll come pick you up.”
Relief flooded through Reo, and for the first time that night, he allowed himself to breathe.
