Go, do a crime.

Summary:

Miku hears about a new deal she landed, it’s a bit more than what she thought it would be.

Notes:

Just a funny crack fic I had while playing fortnite by myself. I’m not even a huge fortnite person but as soon as Miku hit the shop, I bought the skin and got to work. I dunno what it is about Miku, but playing Fortnite has become much more fun while playing with her. I should be using this energy to do something else productive but I’m not, so enjoy this fic I guess

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

A few months before…

Miku found herself exhausted after recent events. If there’s anything about being an Idol that someone should know, it is not easy. She loves her job with all her heart, she’d never take it for granted. But when she has to do constant concerts and meetings back to back, it takes a lot of her enthusiasm and energy away. But of course, she wasn’t complaining.

The popular diva found herself sitting down at her desk in her room, opening up her computer with cup-noodles at her side. She immediately opened her email and surfed through her very-filled inbox. It was the usual messages, some from her managers, some from friends trying to catch up, and the usual business-deal.

She brought some noodles to her mouth as she saw something recent at the top of everything.

“A deal with…Fortnite?”

She thinks she heard of that before. Fortnite was that popular event that often invited a lot of different people to it. She wasn’t able to look into it very much but she has heard a lot of different faces actually got “in”. With how many people show up in Fortnite, you’d think it was the new Smash Bros. Something she never actually got an invite to.

She heard Godzilla got in, might be good to go. What’s the harm in it, throwing another concert, playing her usual songs, it sounds fun. Maybe it could be a good break from all the touring. Maybe it’ll be like her Pokemon adventure, there’s no harm in finding out.

Miku puts her chopsticks down, texts some of her managers on her phone, then starts replying under the email itself.

“Thank you for reaching out! I’d be happy to…”

A few months passed since she accepted the offer. The day is finally here for her collaboration with Fortnite. Miku had no idea what to expect when joining this, because the bare minimum she knew about Fortnite was the dances she’d see trending every now and again. Apparently it was a “battle royale” event too, but she never really knew the specifics. Being an Idol meant she couldn’t exactly keep up with the latest trends, only what’s good for the brand.

But Miku is a person who loves to learn, so that’s what she’s doing. Fortnite actually had a lot of rules. For one, she had to wear shorts under her skirt, something about “guidelines” and being kid-friendly, which she didn’t mind following. But for something advertised as a “battle-royale” she wasn’t sure where the kid part came into play.

The first thing Miku had to do was find a bus, she had a ticket specifically for that bus. The vehicle itself was incredibly odd, it had a huge balloon on top of it and even more than that, and once she got on it, the bus started to float. The inside was much larger than how it appeared outwardly, she couldn’t count the amount of people inside, it should reach the hundred range. She didn’t get a good look at everyone considering the ticket she had was for the very front.

“Thanks for letting me on!” Miku said happily, looking at the bus driver. It was a man who she couldn’t quite see, his face was obscured and he was wearing all blue, he just tipped his hat at her. What a confusing person.

“So, uhm. Do you know where exactly we’re going that requires us to float..?”

As Milku began to ask questions, everyone in the bus began to get up and the door opened up. Her eyes went wide as people suddenly started rushing to the exit and jumping out the door without hesitation. Wh…what’s going on here?!

“Can someone- agh! Wait- hold on!” Miku was drowned in the crowd of people. A lot of them were thanking the bus driver on the way out, some people were too focused to thank him, some were glowing gold, and some looked like they didn’t even want to be here as if they haven’t won anything in ages. With how the crowd was shaping out to be, she couldn’t properly see anyone.

“I guess I’m supposed to just JUMP!-”

Miku gave it no more thought other than that, she threw herself out the bus and found herself staring at a wide landscape with numerous different locations. For a moment, she found herself lost. And, on second thought…maybe she should’ve read more into what this Fortnite-thing was all about.

And on third thought, she’s FALLING!

“AAAH!”

Angelic, almost sing-song-like yelling could be heard as she flailed and tried to think of anything to potentially save her. She thinks back to when she was signing in to the place, she was given a strange umbrella even though it wasn’t raining. And looking at everyone else, people were using umbrellas or many other things to help them.

“THAT’S WHY THEY GAVE ME THAAAAT!?”

No use in being upset now if it’s going to save her life. She pulled out the umbrella and found herself suddenly slowing down. Looks like it worked better than she thought. She’s just got to figure out where she wants to land, but it’s not like it really matters, right…?

And can she hear gunshots…?

Miku landed not long after, she really took her time to not fall to her doom. Once she landed down, she was in some place called “Warrior’s Watch.” It seemed to be some samurai-dojo placed atop a mountain. Her eyes sparkled as she looked around, how cool.

She entered through the front door, or the slide-door that was there, bringing herself into the main area of the place.

“Hellooo! Mikudayo!”

She called out and didn’t hear anything. Though, next to her, she saw a sword that had light shining over it as if it was special. All things considered, it looks like a normal katana except for the fact there was a strange wind over it. Instinctually, Miku picked up the sword and felt her body become a lot lighter.

“Woah! This is amazing!”

Not that the diva knew how to even use a sword in the first place. As she laughed to herself and thought about putting the sword back where she found it, she heard the sound of something shining and was immediately distracted by it. She walked over to the chest and found it even more amazing than the sword.

“I wonder what’s in it…”

If it was left in the open like this, no one would mind if it were gone. Miku opened the chest up and multiple things fell out. More specifically, a huge container of a weird blue drink, a purple-colored “railgun”, and a few bullets along with it. These are things you don’t find in treasure chests. She was expecting gold or…something more grand.

“Why’s there a gun in here?”

Miku picked up the gun and pulled the trigger before it started glowing red, almost like a laser pointer. It then blasted off into the nearby wall, melting it down into nothing.

“W-woops…”

Maybe she shouldn’t play with this. As Miku opted to put everything black in it’s place, someone suddenly dropped down from above where she melted the wall. It was a person who was entirely a banana. She wasn’t sure if it was a costume or just who this person was but she didn’t mind, even if it was odd she didn’t discriminate.

“Hello! Are you here for the -”

Before she could say concert, the person raised a gun at her and began firing. Bullets rained down upon the diva and she panicked -

“AAAAH !!!”

Miku jumped and ran behind a wall, avoiding the bullets. But she could feel the impact behind each bullet at the wall, which meant it wouldn’t hold long.

“I have no choice…but to fight back!”

Miku jumped out from the wall and reached towards her back to reach the sword she has to fight back. She grabbed for…a leek.

WRONG THING!

She threw her leek and it impacted the banana-person as he was reloading. He(?) began jumping around as Miku charged him properly with the sword in-hand. She swung down at him wildly, there was no skill in how she swung the sword but she was landing most of her hits due to her speed advantage.

The banana she was fighting panicked, trying to reload his gun as he was being sliced to pieces. Miku swung as hard as she could and the sword impact, cutting through the person as it reduced him to nothing but blue lights and dropping all his stuff, which wasn’t much.

“W-..wha?”

What did she just….

He’s going to be fine, right?

It was a massacre. To put it bluntly, there was no concert, there was no music. It was just fighting. This wasn’t anything but a battle where everyone had to fight for themselves, and Miku was nothing more than an additional participant in this… war.

It didn’t take her long to figure that out after constant people attacked her with bullets and swords. She was walking through a city, bandages on her arm from the shots that landed. But right now, she had a protective blue-field over her from drinking what she now knows is “Shield.” Or at least, that’s what she’s calling it.

“This was a terrible idea..”

But part of her found this surprisingly fun. She sighs as she pulls the bandages tighter and makes sure she couldn’t be seen by anyone. She should have taken care of everyone here but in this event, people could come out from anywhere at any time. You always had to be ready.

She had to stay on the move, she realized that she couldn’t stay in one spot for too long or some blue-wall would close in on her. She didn’t want to see what would happen if she managed to get caught in it. As she looks all around, paranoid, and sees someone near the mountain. No, atop the highest peak, arms crossed, there was a person who surveyed the battlefield with a confident smirk.

She knew this person, it couldn’t be.

“Goku…” Miku said in disbelief.

Miku adjusted her twintails, a single bead of sweat trickling down her forehead. She recognized him immediately. Son Goku. The legendary warrior. Who didn’t know someone so popular?

Miku took a deep breath, gripping her gun.

“Okay, but don’t blame me if you get outplayed!”

“Hehe, I like your energy!”

He raised two fingers to his forehead and vanished in an instant. Miku’s eyes widened as she instinctively dove to the side—just as a fist slammed into the ground where she had stood, sending rocks and debris flying in all directions. The fight was on.

Miku sprinted across the battlefield, building walls and ramps as fast as she could, weaving between cover while Goku pursued her like an unstoppable force of nature. He fired a Kamehameha that carved through half the structures like butter. Miku barely had time to edit a door, dropping down just in time to avoid becoming a Vocaloid vapor trail.

"I see you can keep up!" Goku grinned, appearing right behind her mid-air.

“Aah!”

Miku pulled out her sword, using the wind from her blade to launch Goku back as she landed on the ground, taking a few deep breaths.

This is taking too many materials. Can I really win this?

She pulled out her railgun and quickly reloaded it before aiming for Goku, who was charging right at her with yellow energy trailing behind him. He was transformed, which was actually rather scary.

A laser-beam came forth and impacted the warrior, dealing massive damage to him. But he actually charged through it and impacted Miku with a punch, causing the vocaloid to roll backward. The force sent her crashing into the dirt, her shield shattering upon impact. She struggled to rise, but exhaustion weighed her down. Goku loomed over her, his own sword materializing in his hands.

“You fought well,” he said, raising his weapon for the final blow.

A sudden, earth-shaking roar split the sky. Goku hesitated. Miku’s eyes widened. The ground trembled. A shadow engulfed the battlefield. From beyond the cliffs, a titanic figure emerged. And then, a loud roar followed that shook the entire battlefield.

Godzilla, the King of Monsters. After his deafoning bellow, he unleashed a massive atomic breath down between Miku and Goku, forcing the warrior to leap back. The heat scorched the land, leaving a molten scar where Miku had just been moments ago.

“Whoa- didn’t see that coming!” Goku said, still smiling.

“Zilla!”

Somehow, wherever Miku goes, she can’t keep away from her big lizard friend. This wasn’t the first time she’s been contracted into an event and Godzilla was there waiting for her already. She was saved, and she couldn’t be happier.

Godzilla lowered his head, letting out a low, rumbling growl. Gently, he picked up Miku in his clawed hand, lifting her to eye level. “You good?” his gaze seemed to say.

“It took you long enough!” Miku called out to him, replying with her own nod as she applied more bandages to herself. This was just another day in their long-standing friendship.

Goku grinned. "Alright, that’s pretty cool. But I’m not done yet!"

His expression grew serious. A silver glow surrounded him as his hair shifted to pure white, his eyes glowing with a divine intensity. Ultra Instinct, one of his iconic transformations.

Godzilla’s growl deepened. Miku’s grip tightened on her Typhoon Sword. “Okay, big guy,” she said. “Time to go all out.”

Goku vanished in an instant, reappearing behind Godzilla with a flurry of lightning-fast punches. Godzilla roared in fury, swinging his massive tail, but Goku dodged it effortlessly, countering with a staggering energy blast that rocked the battlefield.

Miku leaped off Godzilla’s shoulder, twisting mid-air as she slashed her sword, barely missing Goku as he zipped around her strikes. He countered with a punch that sent her flying, but Godzilla caught her mid-air, setting her back onto his shoulder.

“Not done yet!” Miku shouted with a smile. Godzilla began to charge another atomic-breath beam in his mouth.

“KA…ME…HA…ME…”

“1…2…3”

“HAAAAAAA!”

“MIKU MIKU BEAAAAM!”

Miku posed while on top of Godzilla, the two beams clashing against one another. She then pulled out her Railgun and aimed at Goku, somehow managing to get a clear-shot at his head. She pulled the trigger and the laser-gun impacted the warrior, dealing massive damage.

Goku crashed down to the ground in base form, breathing heavily as he started to fade into blue-shards. Goku laid on his back, laughing. “That… was awesome.”

“Yeah, it was.” Miku smiled, giving a fistbump to Godzilla’s hand.

Godzilla stomped over, letting out a triumphant roar. The battle was over.

But their fun wasn’t over yet.

Miku and Godzilla turned to each other with mischievous grins. “Wanna go wild?” Miku asked.

Godzilla let out an ear-splitting roar of agreement.

Together, they stormed the map, crushing buildings, stomping on players, and sending entire squads flying with devastating atomic breath blasts. Miku, perched atop Godzilla’s head, rained gunfire while her giant best friend rampaged through everything. Players screamed in terror as the dynamic duo bulldozed through the battlefield, their kill count skyrocketing.

“I wonder when this ends….”

Miku said, now walking in front of Godzilla with her railgun. She had to be mindful of his massive stomps, but she wasn’t really worried or anything. In fact, to Miku, all of this was completely normal. This made her life infinitely easier.

She noticed that the circle was now incredibly small and the blue field of death (That’s what she’s calling it, anyway), is closing in on them. That meant this had to be the final stretch, right? She got too lost in the fun and intensity of it all that she never got to figure out what this Fortnite thing even was.

Once Miku stopped, she didn’t actually see anyone left in the circle. It was only her and Godzilla left, and the circle was closing in. That’s when it came to Miku.

This was a battle royale, only one person could win.

“W-wait, I can’t!”

Godzilla gave a low, reassuring rumble. He gently nudged her forward.

Miku shook her head. “No, there has to be another way!”

Godzilla sighed dramatically, nodding solemnly. Or at least, this is how Miku interpreted it. She can definitely speak in roars and growls, it’s apart of the job.

With tears in her eyes, she raised her sword. “I’ll never forget you, buddy.”. She struck. Godzilla let out a final roar before dramatically collapsing.

“Victory Royale!” flashed across the screen.

Miku stood there alone, questioning all that went down to today. At least, that’s before immediately after it ended, Miku was sent back to the lobby. Godzilla was there. So was Goku, and a lot of other faces that she recognized or some people she didn’t know at all.

“...It was all fake.” Miku let out a long sigh, stress washing away from her body. She then smiled, crown and golden shine over her body that indicated that she had won.

Godzilla let out an amused snort. Goku stretched, rubbing his head. "Man, that was a crazy fight. Haven't had that much fun since Beerus showed up at my barbecue."

Miku wiped her tears. "I thought I actually lost you, big guy!"

Godzilla let out a low, comforting rumble and gave her a gentle nudge.

“I guess that’s what Fortnite is about. There’s so many fun things to try out. Well, I guess there’s only one thing to do now.”

…

Let’s just say, Miku and Godzilla had a lot of fun at the Fortnite Festival.

Notes:

Maybe I'll write more Miku stuff in the future if this blows up. But, probably not more silly fortnite stuff, unless that's asked for. I just like Miku a lot and need more excuses to write this silly bean doing silly stuff in places she shouldn't be.
