Rain On Me

Summary:

Dylan hates thunderstorms and the only person who’s able to comfort him is Jun.

Work Text:

The sound of thunders echoed through the entire house, almost making it shake as the rain started pouring violently against the window.

Dylan was shaking from under the covers, hugging his knees to his chest as he started sobbing. Swinging back and forth as he tried to calm himself down but without succeeding.

Today’s storm was the worst in years, so loud and disruptive he could hear the threes fight to stay anchored to the ground, things from their garden smashed everywhere.

The simple thought made him cry a little harder, feeling the knot previously formed in his stomach tighten, heart pounding so loudly he was afraid it could jump right out from his chest. His throat was dry, making him unable to speak or ask for help as the shaking became almost unbearable.

He felt the urge to rip his own skin off, mind going crazy as he searched for some sort of support.

The boy didn’t even hear the knock on his door nor when it opened revealing one of his member’s figures.

Jun slowly approached him, the power was off so he couldn’t see much but he followed the sobbing cries coming from the bed.

The younger knew how tough these types of nights were for him, so he couldn’t help but get worried when he woke up to a thunderstorm taking place all around them. Going right to check on the boy, he needed to make sure he wasn’t having an attack.

And if he was, he wanted to be by his side because he knew how overwhelming it could get.

“Dylan?”

His voice was low as if he was afraid to scare him even more, gently reaching out to push the cover down a little, enough so he could see his face from the mere light offered by the sporadic flashes.

He looked startled, white as a ghost with his lower lip that couldn’t stop trembling.

“J —“

A scared scream came out of his mouth as another thunder resounded through the walls, jumping a little because of it, taking one of Jun’s arms hostage as he held him tight.

Keeping his eyes shut as he couldn’t bear the thought of watching the chaos around him. As if he was scared it could make the whole situation go downhill.

Jun laid down beside him, bringing his free arm to gently wrap around his body, pulling him closer. Slowly caressing his back, leaving a small peek over his forehead.

It’s okay, I’m right here with you.”

A gentleness he wasn’t used to taking over him, this very time he wished he had the power to control the weather and never make things like that happen again.

He could hear the older sobbing into his chest, wetting his shirt as he tightened his grip on Jun’s arm. Panic crowding his mind to the point he couldn’t think of anything else.

At one point Dylan felt a hand being placed on his cheek, obligating him to open his eyes a little. He couldn’t really see a thing, fat tears filling his eyes to the point the world around seemed all a blurred mess.

“Breathe with me, Dy.

It’s alright, you are going to be fine.”

Jun murmured, caressing away the tears dirtying his cheeks.

Starting to breathe in and out as he tried to make him match his rhythm, reclaiming his focus so he wouldn’t think about everything that was happening outside. He could feel his heart pound from here, keeping up with his caresses as the older’s body started softening against his.

His grip over his arm slowly loosened as he finally started feeling some air arriving in his lungs. Following his orders, putting all his attention on the younger as he found comfort in the warmth of his body.

“Here we go, see? You are doing it.”

He moved his hand to smooth his hair, playing with his locks as he heard the other calm down. The sobbing stopped and he could feel his breathing turning regular against his chest. The noisy wind was now a distant sound they couldn’t hear anymore.

Dylan was now listening to the other’s heartbeat, counting every single beat until he was fine again.

His body instantly went limp, muscles tired from the shock he had just overcome meanwhile his nerves seemed happy to finally have a break. He couldn’t move nor had the energy to do anything except stay there, taking in his embrace that now was keeping him from newly falling apart.

On the other hand, Jun had no intention of leaving his side. He made a point to himself to watch over him until morning in case he had to have another attack, so he wouldn’t be alone.

They both fell asleep following each other’s breathing pattern, hearts synched as they hugged tightly through the night.

From now on it was going to become a habit of theirs every time there was a storm coming up, and not only in that case. Maybe they weren’t going to say it out loud, but both of them now needed each other’s warmth more than they would ever admit.
