Summary
“Gege! You're back!” he exclaims happily, while practically throwing himself towards the god.
Xie Lian, expecting the enthusiastic greeting, catches his beloved easily. They've both sorely missed each other.
The god had gotten caught up in a terribly tedious mission from the heavens: a mysterious affliction causing the undead to act erratic. They were jumping and clinging to humans around a village, even during the day despite the dangers that entailed. Reports from those that survived and remembered their terrifying encounters stated they heard their attackers screeching something about warmth before they’d burned under the sun's rays.
Yet, despite his efforts, he couldn't figure out what was going on. After setting up a protection array around the village he’d ask Ling Wen for more information, yet nothing came up. Getting increasingly troubled, Xie Lian nearly called his husband over when the strange behavior suddenly just stopped. He decided to ask his husband to come with him to the village, after their reunion and long overdue feeding session.
