The air was cold, wafting against your skin, and leaving goosebumps in its wake. Your best friend sat at the end of the bed with a controller in his hands. He was more focused on trying to win than the idea of his fingers possibly freezing up. You let out a soft sigh, and your eyes drifted to the posters on the walls; they were of various anime and video games that littered every blank space. When he first invited you into his home, the walls were bare and his floor wasn’t the cleanest. Now, it felt like he had been cleaning up just to make you comfortable.
“Spinner,” You spoke softly, as if the slightest raise in your voice could shatter the pleasant energy you two have created, “it’s… cold.”
Spinner raised his head, his amber pink eyes meeting your own, “You can use my blankets, if you want.”
“I am.” You responded, tilting your head. That seemed to click in his head, as he fully processed his environment. He’d been so engrossed in his game that he zoned out.
“Oh, shit, yeah,” He cleared his throat, standing up. He held his hands above his head, stretching out his back with a grunt. Your eyes wandered to the small bit of green scaly skin that had been revealed when his hoodie lifted. You quickly averted your gaze, looking at the suddenly very interesting posters. “I'll turn up the AC.”
He ran his fingers through his hair before exiting, the sound of his footsteps ringing through your ears. Your heart had been beating too quickly for any comfort, but it seemed to have slowed now that he was gone. You twiddled your fingers, staring at them intently.
How long had you been staring at him that way? How many times did your gaze fall to any skin he showed? There was no way he was doing it too. It seemed like he could never even look at you. His eyes were always on a wall beside you or just above your head.
You laid down, your gaze falling on the ceiling. His sheets were warm— Probably from the fact you’d been bundled up in them for so long. You pulled them up to your nose, relishing in his scent. It made you blush. Were you acting like those guys who smelled womens’ clothes? Probably. Are you a pervert? No… He just smelled so nice; you just couldn’t help yourself!
You curled up in his sheets, wrapping them around you like a cocoon. You were cozy. You felt warm, but hadn’t the room just been freezing? How long had you been—
“Hey?” He spoke up. His expression was unreadable. You perked up, shoving the blankets down.
“Hey,” You cleared your throat, “What’s up?”
“Not much, you okay?” He tilted his head, sitting back down at the foot of the bed.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Your eyes wandered to the wall beside him.
“Okay… do you wanna play Mario Kart with me?” His back is turned to you as he speaks. You could faintly hear the clicking sounds from his controller.
“Yeah, sure.” You smiled.

Snow had painted the streets as it continued to fall from the cloudy sky. You stood beside Spinner, your feet planted in the white powder beneath you. You had bundled up the best you could, but the cold breeze against your face wasn’t doing you any favours. Letting out a shaky sigh, you turned your gaze towards Spinner.
When it was just the two of you, he never wore his cosplay. Instead, he wore this light blue hoodie with a black coat overtop, along with black pants. He looked cute in his casual clothes; though, you’d never admit that to him. His hair was still all fluffed up as well. Maybe he wasn’t cute. Maybe, he’s more than that.
As you walked together, the sounds of snow being crushed could be heard. He’d always been a bit more on the quiet side, but this time, the silence was uncomfortable. Maybe it was because you were staring at his jawline a little too much. He seemed uncomfortable. You quickly averted your eyes, opting for the snow instead.
“I always forget the snow makes it bright out,” You laughed. He smiled.
“Yeah.” Awkward…
It was beginning to look like unavoidable tension.
“Are you okay, Spinner?” You gently grasped his sleeve, trying to tug his attention towards you. He flinched a bit, but that was the only visible reaction.
“Yeah, I’m fine. You wanna head back to base?” He seemed to try to avoid the topic. It even felt like he was avoiding you.
“...Sure.”
The walk to The League’s quarters seemed to be even more awkward. You two had never been this way before. In fact, you got along well. Was it because of your staring problem? I mean, it’s not like you could help it! He has nice arms!
“Are you sure you’re okay?” You tugged on his arm again. His face seemed to flush at that. It’s probably because of the cold weather.
“I’m good.” He replied rather uncomfortably. You tugged a bit harder, giving him a stern look.
“Please, let go.” He mumbled, clearing his throat. He looked away bashfully. You immediately let go, shoving your hands into your pockets. Now, you’re just embarrassed.
“I’m sorry.”
Finally, you both arrived. Shigaraki was lounging on the sofa, playing some game on his phone. You watched Spinner as he walked over to him and leaned over his shoulder. He was watching him play a game. You felt jealous at how close they were. You two used to be like that, right?

You were getting fed up. Something had changed in your bond with Spinner, and he wasn’t letting up. Fortunately for you, the two of you were in your room.
Due to not liking the big light, you always had smaller dimmer lights strung out around your room. It created a cozier feel. This also allowed for some, finally, comfortable energy between you and him.
Your bed was plush underneath you. Spinner sat just on the other side of you, his phone in his hand. Letting out a shaky breath, you decided to scoot closer to him. He picked up on this, creating more distance. This was hard. Really hard. You just wanted to be close to him like before. You wanted that same energy he seems to have with Shigaraki.
“It’s… cold.” You lied through your teeth.
“You should grab one of your blankets.” He replied. Damn.
“Yeah, but..” You moved the tiniest bit closer, hoping he’d get the hint. He seemed to blush at this.
“Ah.” He cleared his throat. He was avoiding eye contact. However, he wasn’t moving away from you. Instead, he stayed put, his gaze on his phone. You took this as a sign to keep going.
Carefully, you closed the distance, your thighs now touching his. Spinner gripped his phone harder, swallowing nervously. You leaned your head on his shoulder, looking at what he was looking at.
“It’s.. it’s okay, y’know?” Your voice was gentle as you tried to comfort him, “However, if.. You don’t wanna be this close, you should tell me—”
“No,” He cut you off, “no, no, I want to. I do.” His voice was shaky as he spoke. He honestly seemed like he could fall apart any second. You let out a sigh, moving closer. Why was this so much scarier than fighting heroes?
You gently wrapped your hand around his, feeling his scales meet your skin. It felt nice, like you’d been waiting for this for so long. Your thumb rubbed his palm soothingly.
“You have nice hands,” you smiled, “I mean that, by the way.” He froze up, blush dusting his cheeks.
“I— um. Yeah. Thank you.” He swallowed. You nodded. It felt nice being this close. It felt nice having his attention. Then, without any warning, he freed his hand from yours and wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you in. Now you’re blushing. You snuggled into him, wrapping your arms around him as well. He was warm and comfortable. You felt safe in his arms.
It was quiet for a while. You two just enjoyed each other's presence. Occasionally, you’d snuggle a little bit closer. He’d respond by squeezing you. This felt right. This felt nice. You looked at him with a soft smile. He smiled in turn. Moving off his shoulder, you leaned closer to his face. He hadn’t even realized until your mouth met his. When you pulled away, his green scales had somehow turned red.
“H-huh?!” He sputtered out, swallowing hard. You began to laugh at his flustered expression.
“Sorry.” You smiled hard.
“No, don’t be!” He tried to reassure you, gripping your shoulders. “You just… caught me off guard.” He breathed out.
“Okay,” Your hands cupped his face, caressing it.
“Can.. we do that again?”
“Yeah.. we can do it again.”
