    Nikolai could justify why his cloak brought him bleeding and injured to Sigma’s bathroom: the casino manager spent most evenings locked up in his office, anyways, and he was careful enough to have a stocked first aid kit in every room. It was friendly territory, more or less, and Nikolai was sure Sigma was too scared of him to try and hurt him, even when he was already injured.

    In truth, he just reacted, and his cloak dropped him into the porcelain tub instead of the cracked ceramic of his safe house.

    or, Nikolai realizes he's starting to develop feelings for Sigma, and reacts about as well as expected.
