    Argyle shrugs. “Neither; didn’t ask for a librarian, he asked for you.”

    “Okay.” That leaves him a bit wary, hoping it isn’t that older alpha who only ever asks for Eddie and Chrissy to help with his phone, and makes sexist comments about how sweet his favorite omegas are.

    Squaring his shoulders, Eddie grabs his tea mug and heads out to the front. There, waiting on the carpet politely away from the desk in case someone else arrives with a question, is Max’s mom. Max isn’t with him.
