Chapter Text

Outside the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario and Luigi were walking through a forest.

Princess Peach has asked the Mario Bros. to fix up some of the warp pipes around the Mushroom Kingdom. "Alright, Luigi, this is the last of the warp pipes the princess asked us to fix," Stated Mario as he jumped over a large log.

"An easy day, huh, Mario? Oh - I hope I didn't jinx it.” added Luigi as he jumped over the log but ended up missing the landing as he fell into some mud.

Without missing a beat, Mario helped his brother up and cleaned off the mud from him. After a short journey, the Bros came across the broken Warp Pipe. Normally these pipes were green but the one in front of them kept changing colors before their eyes. "Uhhh, Mario, I have a bad feeling about that Warp Pipe." Luigi commented as he looked anxiously at the pipe.”

"I mean, it can't be that bad?" shrugged Mario as he looked over the pipe. "Hey, Luigi, can you take a look inside to see if it's-a corroded inside?”

Luigi jumped up to the side of the warp pipe to look it over. He saw that it wasn't corroded inside. It was pretty clear, aside from swirling patterns at the bottom of the pipe. Seeing that it was fine as he turned around, Luigi slipped and fell backwards down the pipe. “MARIOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!”

Mario looked up in shock and without hesitation jumped down the Warp Pipe to follow his brother. "I'm-a coming, Luigi!"

Mario was in freefall as he kept his eyes on his younger brother. The brothers were screaming as they fell down the pipe; Luigi screaming an octave louder. As they were enveloped by light, Mario grabbed Luigi's hand as they went off to wherever the Warp Pipe sends them. "Why did we accept this....!!!!" were Luigi's words before a light enveloped them. When the light died down from the Warp Pipe, it collapsed onto itself and was nothing but rubble.

Unknown Location

In the deepest part of a sewer, the Mario Bros. tumbled out of the Warp Pipe. "Mama-Mia, where are we?" Luigi asked as he got his bearings back and looked around the sewer.

Mario got up quickly and scanned the area. “No idea, but it looks like the Warp Pipe is intact.”

Luigi quickly got up and wacked on the pipe. “Well at least we can get ho-”

CRACK!

Mario and Luigi stared in horror as cracks started to form around the pipe before it crumbled to dust. The former could only sigh while the latter dropped to his knees. "Mama-Mia, we're trapped in another world... again.” commented Mario. Turning on his heels, Mario headed away from the pipe.

“Wait, Mario? Where are you going?” asked Luigi as he got up and looked at his brother.

“To the surface, Weegee. It's better than being down here.”

Seeing he had no other choice, Luigi followed suit, sighing along the way.

Surface of the new world

People were walking down the straight minding their own business as the manhole cover on the sidewalk lifted up with the brothers jumping out from it.

Mario looked around the city and whistled. “You know, this place reminds me of New Donk City.”

Luigi took a look and was taking in the sights. Strange symbols were on shops and billboards. On the billboards, they can see people that are dressed oddly promoting different products. One advertisement showed a shapely woman with long blonde hair they didn't recognize.

But most noticeable of all was the people. A couple had a pair of horns coming from their head as they were enjoying their date while a snake woman nearby was walking a young boy who had wool growing off his back.

"Well, we're definitely not in the Mushroom Kingdom, anymore." Luigi noted as he saw a few people giving him and Mario puzzled looks before brushing it off.

“Well, let's go look around Luigi.” said Mario, taking off down the street. Luigi followed suit as he ran behind his brother. Both brothers were taking in the sights. They came to a stop by the local park where they took a break from the short run.

As they looked around, Mario noticed a teen that had pink skin, gold eyes with black sclera, and horns coming out of her head.

“Umm, excuse miss,” Mario asked her, trying to get the teens attention. “My brother and I are new around here, so where are we?”

A yelp of surprise came from her, but she quickly relaxed and answered them.

"Huh? You're in Musutafu! How'd you get all the way here without knowing where you were? If you're having trouble with the signs I can point you to the right spot.”

“Oh, if you have a map, we can find a good restaurant in town.” suggested Luigi. Suddenly they heard a growl come from Mario's stomach.

“Guess you're both hungry!" The teen exclaimed. “Come on, I know a great place that makes super yummy pizza!” She then dragged the bros to a nearby pizza place she knew.

Pizzeria Gardulla

Nearly half an hour passed since the teen brought the bros to the restaurant. Besides each brother we're stacks of plates that piled high. All the patrons were staring at the empty bowls stacked next to them as Mario and Luigi were drinking the last bit of water before setting their cups down. “Sorry if we went overboard,” apologized Mario. “Neither of us really had the chance to eat for a while.”

The girl in question was looking over the brothers bill for the three of them. Tears were spilling from her eyes as the cost for the bill was 20,000 yen alone. “How am I supposed to pay this…”

As if things could not get worse, a portly toad-like woman wearing an apron marched over to their table. "Alright boys," she demanded in a deep, croaky voice. "How are you going to foot the bill?”

“Ah not to worry, we might have something to cover it.” Mario then pulled out a gold coin and placed it on the table. “Meals on me.”

The woman examined the coin and checked it over. To her surprise, it really was gold. “Alright, this covers ya bill and most likely any meals you have here for the next three months. Feel free to come by to my pizzeria when you're in the mood, hon.”

With that, she walked away from the table with the gold coin in hand. The teen girl looked at the brothers in disbelief. “OH, we forgot to ask you your name.” Luigi added, trying to move along and trying to figure out what Musutafu is like, according to a local.

"Mina. Mina Ashido.” The teen introduced herself. “You could introduce yourself too.”

"Ok, this is my brother, Mario, and I'm Luigi," The taller bro introduced himself. "Since we're from far away, we thought we could learn how things are around here.”

“Oh, well around here we have Pro-Heroes who keep everyone safe.”

"Wait, so everyone is a superhero here?”

"Well not everyone, you need a license to be a Pro Hero. Almost everyone has a Quirk.”

"License?” questioned Mario.

"Yeah, with almost everyone having powers, the government made it a rule to keep people safe.”

"That seems a little stringent…”

"Well, they do make an exception for self-defense but it can get pretty strict,” Mina's smartphone rang and she saw that an alarm went off. “Oh no, I’m going to be late for my train!”

Quickly standing up, she put on her coat before turning to the toad like woman. "Thanks for the meal, Gardulla!"

"Not a problem, sweetie."

Mina then turned to the Mario bros. "I hope you enjoy your stay here, Mario and Luigi. I'll see you around." With that, Mina left the restaurant. Seeing as they were set, the bros followed suit.

Once they were outside, Luigi gave his thoughts to Mario about the world they were in. "This is-a strange new world, Mario."

“Yeah, it is, Luigi,” replied Mario. “But at the same time, it's pretty exciting.”

“Maybe this world could be re-”

BANG!

The citizens screamed in terror as an explosion from a bank across the street from where the brothers stood drove everyone away. Mario slowly turned and glared at Luigi. The younger brother could only blush in response.

From the destroyed bank, a large man with a huge mouth had two big bags of money in each hand. What stood out were the random sparks coming from his mouth. Nearby, a large man who looked like he was into construction came running onto the scene to face off against the robber.

“Oh my god, it's Death Arms! Take out that Villain!” shouted one man that was watching the scene.

“Halt, Villain!” exclaimed Death Arms as he cracked his knuckles. “I suggest you drop the money and come quietly.”

“Ah screw you, hero!” shouted the robber as he started to generate fire from his mouth. He blasted Death Arms with a fireball which he blocked. Before the hero could follow up, the robber sucker punched him in the face and then fired a point-blank fireball into the Hero's facing. The blast launched the hero off his feet and into the side of a building.

Seeing as how Death Arms was down for the count, the Bros turned to each other and gave a nod to each other as they knew what had to be done.

"Let's-a go!”

“Okie-dokie!”

Mario jumped from his spot as he had both feet together and aimed for the top of the robber's head. The blow landed as the robber grunted in pain. Before he could do anything, Luigi launched himself straight at him and gave a powerful headbutt to his stomach. The crook was launched off his feet and slammed into a lamp post.

Leaping away from the robber, Luigi jumped back right next to his brother. The plumbers stared him down without an ounce of fear. Seeing he was being challenged, the robber blasted a large fireball at the pair.

The Bros reached into their pockets and got out the mallets, wielding them expertly. As the fireball got closer, they raised their mallets and waited for it to get right in reach. When the blazing ball was close enough, the brothers swung their hammers and batted the flaming sphere back at the crook. The robber's eyes widened as he screamed loudly when his own attack exploded right in his face. When the smoke cleared, the robber was down for the count.

"Mario! We won!” cheered Luigi. The bros high fived each other and then heard something snap on to their wrists.

Click! Click!

Mario then looked and found that he was in handcuffs along with his brother as a police officer was glaring at them. “Sir, you and your partner are under arrest for vigilantism and using your Quirk without a license.”

The brothers glanced at each other and sighed. “Mama-Mia…” As the brothers were walking over to the cruiser, a camera on a lamppost zoomed in on the brothers.

 Musutafu Police Station

Inside the interrogation room, the brothers sat side by side, anxiously waiting for whoever to come into to interrogate them. Through the one-way mirror was a man and a strange white creature. The man in his mid-30s came in, he was well-dressed: shirt and tie, brown pants, a trench coat, and also short brown hair. The creature was a white mouse bear creature wearing a black suit and a red tie but noticeably it had a large scar on its right eye. They were detective Naomasa Tsukauchi and Nezu, respectively.

"Principal, why are you so interested in these two vigilantes?" asked the detective.

“I viewed the CCTV footage that was recorded and decided to look up any information on them,” answered Nezu. “From what I gathered, they don't exist. If I were to guess, you ended up finding nothing on them either.”

“I sent in one detective to get their names and so far, we couldn't find anyone that matches their description in any database.”

The pair noted the appearance of the brothers. Both brothers were dressed in blue overalls, long-sleeved shirts, white gloves, brown shoes, and hats. Some physical similarity they have were their blue eyes, brown hair, mustaches, and quite noticeable, very large, rounded noses.

There were differences between the brothers as one brother was shorter than the average person, and was on the chubby side. His shirt and hat were both red, with the latter having a 'M' on the front. The other brother was taller and skinnier. His shirt and hat were green and on his hat that had the letter ‘L’ on the front.

“Indeed, they are quite the enigma,” Tsukauchi then noticed how excited the principal was as he bounced in his spot. "Which makes it all the more exciting! Now I believe it's your turn to see them. If they are deemed safe, signal me in and I'll take care of the rest."

"Alright, I hope your judgment on them is correct.”

Back inside the interrogation room, the brothers were chatting with each other. “Do we get a free phone call?” Mario asked his brother.

"I'm pretty sure that phone call won't help us, Mario.”

"Are you sure, Luigi?”

"Not unless the phone can call across dimensions.”

The door to the interrogation room opened with detective Tsukauchi walking into the room with a map in hand. “Hello, my Name is Detective Tsukauchi. I want you both to state your name.”

"Mario."

"L-Luigi, sir.”

Tsukauchi with his quirk, Lie Detector, was so far getting the truth from the two strange men. “Alright, where are you from?”

"The Mushroom Kingdom.” The bros answered at the same time.

TRUE. “...what? Can you repeat that?”

“We both came from the Mushroom Kingdom.”

TRUE. "Is the Mushroom Kingdom code for something?”

“No, that's where we live.”

Moving on, Tsukauchi tried a different approach. "Alright, Mario, I want you to tell me about this 'Mushroom Kingdom' you come from?”

"Uh, is it usually peaceful? A lot of the population are called Toads because they are mushroom people.” explained Mario.

Also TRUE, somehow. Not once did either of these plumbers lie to him.

"Ok then... Luigi, what are your professions?”

Luigi put his hand to his chin to think about it. “Let's see, Mario was a carpenter, a boxing referee, and a tennis umpire but we have worked as plumbers, construction workers, baseball players, basketball players, football players, doctors, teachers, artists, painters, go-kart drivers, tennis players, chefs, lumberjacks, safari guides, golfers, janitors, astronauts, sheriffs, actors, postal workers, and honestly we kind of lost track.”

TRUE. "How did you manage all that time? Did you get shining recommendation letters from each previous employer?” Tsukauchi could feel that his brain was trying to wrap around these two brothers having this many skill sets.

"You can say that... sorta." Luigi answered, still skittish. Tsukauchi then put down the file he held and revealed it to be a map. The brothers looked over the map as Tsukauchi prepared the next question.

“Alright, can either one of you point out where the ‘Mushroom Kingdom’ is on this map?”

"Uh... it's not on the map, sir.” answered Luigi.

“Asia, Africa, Europe? I don't think I have heard of those places before.” added Mario, looking over the map.

TRUE.

"I mean, if you were sheltered, yes... " Tsukauchi trailed off.

“No, we're both pretty worldly,” After a moment, a thought occurred to Luigi before he looked at his brother. “Hey Mario, do you think this is just like how we were teleported to Concordia?”

"Concordia, NY?" Tsukachi interjected.

“No, just the world of Concordia.”

TRUE.

"Wha... what? Describe the world of Concordia in your own words." Tsukachi replied, briefly losing his composure.

“Well, it's a land that has people that look like living electrical sockets. All of their lands were drifting islands until we helped unite the lands together, literally.” explained Mario

TRUE.

Tsukachi wasn't sure how to respond. All his life, he knew his quirk never failed him yet what the brothers’ statements were completely true. Without a word, he got up and left the room.

Behind the one-way mirror, Nezu was thinking about what the brothers had said when the detective was back. “Everything they told me was the truth.”

“So, it seems, detective, I have been listening to your interrogation and I have come to a conclusion.”

“And what would that be, Nezu?”

Nezu took a sip from his tea cup before he answered Tsukachi’s question. “They are not from our world.”

Tsukauchi raised an eyebrow at his answer. “That's impossible.”

“Ah but when logic fails, the impossible is the only answer,”

“Now the question is, what are we going to do with them?”

The principal put his chin in his hand for a few seconds before smiling. “I may have a solution, but only if you go along with it.”

Tsukachi had a feeling he was in for a headache. “Alright, what's your idea?”

Nezu then whispered into the detective's ear. The more he went on the wider his eyes went. Tsukauchi grabbed Nezu by his shoulder's. “Nezu, are you insane!” He scolded the creature with a harsh tone. “Do you have any idea how badly this could go?!”

“Oh, I'm aware of that detective,” Nezu then slipped out of Tsukauchi's hands as he straightened his tie. “I believe it's our best option to keep an eye on them and to keep them close.” The intelligent Chimera scurred off and made his way into the interrogation room.

"Ah, hello there!" greeted Nezu as he entered the interrogation room and hopped up on the chair in front of the pair. "Am I a dog or a mouse or a bear? Nope, I'm Nezu! And I have reviewed the video of both of you taking down that Villain, so I have an offer for both of you.”

The bros glanced at each other and looked back at Nezu. “What's the offer?”

“I want both of you to become teachers at U.A. It's much better than being stuck here. Do you accept it?”

The brothers looked at Nezu as they heard his offer. “Wait, teachers? What do you mean?” asked Mario.

“For future heroes, of course,” replied Nezu. “However, I can't immediately hire you both just yet.”

“Eh, why?” questioned Luigi.

“Vigilantism is taken quite seriously here. The authorities want strict order, and if I can prove you’re not a danger to society, you’ll get the position. But if they aren’t satisfied, you could be imprisoned.”

"So, who are you going to have-a interview us?"

"The number one hero, of course, All Might.”

“Oh, we’ve-a heard that name before!” Mario said, leaning forward with interest. “Sounds-a pretty impressive.”

"Number 1 Hero? Sounds like-a big title to bear…” added Luigi . “Alright but-a how long will it take-a for him to get-a here?”

“As soon as he can, Mr. Luigi.”

“Luigi is just-a fine.”

Nezu retrieved a notepad and pen from a drawer and placed them neatly on the table. “Now gentlemen, I can try to set up an apartment for you to live in, but are there any requirements that you have to accommodate?”

Mario crossed his arms, thinking for a moment. “Any place close to a restaurant with good seafood and pasta, that’s-a all I need!”

Luigi sighed, knowing his beloved older brother would have food on his mind. “Mario, don't you think we would need something else?”

“Oh, and a library.”

“Excellent! Now, to make the call,” he then left the room as quickly as he entered. When he returned to Tsukauchi, he was grinning ear to ear. “Well detective, are you entertained?”

“Nezu, do you realize how much of a gamble this is?” explained Tsukauchi, giving the principal a troubled expression. “Even if they are telling the truth, we know next to nothing about them.”

“Ah, but it's a gamble that I feel that will be worth the risk.” Nezu still grinning before jumping into Tsukauchi's coat.

“Would you get out of there!” shouted the detective, trying to get the rodent out of his trench coat. Nezu then popped out of his collar with his cell phone in his hand. Tsukauchi snatched his phone from the Principal who jumped out. “God, it's like I'm dealing with a hyperactive child.” He grumbled as he started to dial his old friend.

Downtown Musutafu

It was just another day for Toshinori Yagi, better known as All Might, Japan’s Number One Hero. He had given his new protégé and successor, Izuku Midoriya, a pep talk to prepare him for his first day of hero school. After that, he saved a bus full of tourists from falling off a highway after the driver lost control and even helped an elderly lady cross the street.

Just as he was about to relax for a moment, his phone buzzed. He saw that the call was from Tsukauchi, so it had to be something important if he was calling his private number.

“Greetings, Tsukauchi!” boomed Toshi, his voice carrying across the entire street. A nearby pedestrian jumped, spilling their coffee. “What can I help you with?”

“Toshi, Nezu and I are interviewing a pair of brothers to join U.A. as the co-heroics instructor that you really want to meet. Believe me, some of the things they claimed to have done are unbelievable.”

“Really? Like what?”

“Five of my officers tried to pick up one of the hammers they’d been using—couldn’t even budge it. It even crushed the metal table when they placed their hammers on it.”

“That’s odd, but we’ve seen our fair share of strange things before.”

“They may have done more jobs in a lifetime and have saved their world multiple times.”

“Their world? What are you saying, Tsukauchi?”

“Yeah. According to Nezu, these brothers aren’t from our Earth—or even our reality.”

All Might paused, processing what Tsukauchi had just said. He lowered his voice, the usual bombastic tone gone. “Another reality… and they’re here, now?”

“Exactly,” Tsukauchi confirmed. “Nezu wants you to meet them. He believes they could be valuable allies, but the higher-ups need convincing.”

All Might’s eyes narrowed. “If Nezu’s vouching for them, that says something. I’ll head over right away.” Putting away his phone, he made a mighty leap to the next building. As he moved, a thought crept into Toshi’s mind. Nezu has always been a good judge of character. But there are still a lot of unanswered questions about these brothers. Mainly, how did they end up in our world?

A few minutes later, he landed in front of the police station. Some bystanders looked surprised, but others waved, and he returned the gesture with his signature smile before striding confidently inside. The station was buzzing with activity with officers rushing from room to room booking criminals, while others took statements from civilians.

All Might tried to be as discreet as possible so he could reach the interrogation room, where Tsukauchi and Nezu were waiting for him. On his way, he heard grunting coming from the property room. Peeking inside, he saw six police officers struggling to lift a pair of semi-large black mallets off the ground. The mallets had crushed what remained of the table, just as Tsukauchi had described.

“Hey, need a hand?” All Might offered.

“All Might, thank God you're here,” exclaimed one burly officer. “We’ve been trying to move these for an hour. Even officers with super-strength quirks couldn’t budge them.”

The officers quickly stepped aside to let All Might try. He crouched down and slowly lifted one of the mallets. The weight caught him off guard, and it slipped—landing squarely on his foot.

“YEEEEEOOOOWWWWWW!” howled the Symbol of Peace, hopping on one foot while clutching the other, shaking the entire room and possibly the whole building. “SWEET SARSAPARILLA ON JACK KIRBY!”

The commotion drew the attention of Tsukauchi and Nezu, who ran straight to the evidence room.

“All Might, we heard you from down the hall!” Tsukauchi rushed in, eyes darting between the crushed table and the hammer now on the floor.

“Yeah I'm fine,” brushed off All Might, walking off the pain. “The only thing wounded is my dignity. Was it just the hammers they brought?”

“Oh no,” answered Nezu, looking over at a different table. “They brought a few other curiosities with them that made me more excited to learn about them!”

All Might glanced at the table and looked at what was on the table. A large orange flower with beady eyes was looking at him and yet he could somehow literally feel the heat from it. A similar flower was right next to it, but it was blue, and around it was a bit of frost on the table. Right next to it was a golden striped bell with beady eyes lying nearby. Then there was a final flower that looked like the first two flowers but it was purple. Nearby the bell was a brown striped leaf with beady eyes and a notch on the top left side. Finally, there were two bags, one with red mushrooms with white spots that had the same beady eyes as all the other items on the table, and the other bag was filled with large gold coins.

“Well now, that's something you don't see every day,” commented All Might examining the confiscated goods. “So which room are the brothers, Tsukauchi?”

“Interrogation Room #64.”

“Alright let's see if they are as outlandish as you claim they are Principal.”

With that said, the trio went down the hallway. Before Nezu and Tsukauchi headed to the viewing room next to where the brothers were, the latter turned to his old friend. “Toshi, the one in red, is named Mario while his younger brother wearing green is Luigi.”

All Might nodded. Taking a deep breath, he opened the door with a grin, leaped into the room, and struck his signature pose. “I AM HERE, WALKING IN TO INTERVIEW YOU!”

Normally, he’d expect cheers or gasps of recognition. Instead, there was… silence.

Blinking, All Might turned his gaze to the brothers. Mario and Luigi were slumped in their chairs—fast asleep.

"Ah, spaghetti..." Mario snored. "Fettuccine...ZZZ...bucatini..."

“Wow,” Toshi muttered, scratching his head. “They must be heavy sleepers.”

All Might leaned down and gave Mario a gentle nudge. The red plumber yawned, stretched his arms, and blinked sleepily at the towering hero. Realizing they had company, he gave his brother a nudge.

Luigi groggily rubbed his eyes and then froze. His gaze traveled up All Might’s towering frame. His eyes popped open, and he let out a startled scream. “EYAAAAH!”

Seeing All Might wasn’t attacking, Luigi cleared his throat, adjusted his hat, and forced a grin. “Uh… sorry about that. Just wasn’t-a expecting someone built like a brick castle.”

“It’s fine,” All Might chuckled, waving it off with his usual grin. “Now, let’s get down to business.”

All Might took a seat across from the brothers, folding his arms on the table. His usual bright smile softened to something a bit more serious, though still kind.

“All right, Mario, Luigi. First, I’d like to thank you for cooperating. Nezu and Tsukauchi think highly of you, and I’m curious to hear your story firsthand.”

He leaned forward slightly, his tone becoming more curious and earnest note. “So, let’s start simple. You mentioned you’re not from this world. Can you tell me how you got here and what kind of world you come from?”

"Well, you see..."

A Half-Hour Later

“And that's how we are here,” finished Mario after taking a deep breath from the long-winded explanation.

All Might’s jaw had already hit the floor after the brothers mentioned saving their planet from an alien invasion with themselves as infants. Every tale, when told briefly, sounded more and more out of this world.

“HOLY shit…” was all the Number One Hero could mutter. His brain was still scrambling to process.

His phone buzzed. Seeing Tsukauchi’s name on the screen, he answered, “Hello?”

“Toshi, aren’t you forgetting something?” asked Nezu’s voice on the other end.

“Wa-Nezu? Why are you using Tsukauchi’s phone?”

“Oh, the good detective went to his office. He said something about needing a nap after hearing how Mario saved a cooking kingdom from a giant, lava-spewing chef bird as a living fireball. Now, get back to the interview!”

Nezu hung up before All Might could respond. With a sigh, he massaged his forehead, then refocused on the brothers. “So tell me Mario, what is your definition of a hero?” asked the Symbol of Peace.

Mario tilted his head, thinking for a moment. Then he smiled, his expression earnest. “A hero is someone who protects others.”

He paused before continuing. “But it’s more than that. It’s about putting others first, even when you’re scared. A hero doesn’t just fight bad guys, they help people in trouble. They make sure everyone feels safe. And sometimes a hero’s job is just to be there. To listen, or give someone hope when they need it.”

Luigi nodded, chiming in softly. “It’s-a also about doing the right thing, even when no one’s watching. Or when no one else believes you can.” He adjusted his cap. “We’ve faced a lot of strange things, but what kept us going was knowing people needed us.”

Mario added, “And sometimes, you don’t even need-a superpowers to be a hero. You just need heart.”

All Might felt a warmth in his chest. Their words were simple, but they carried the weight of experience. He could see why Nezu was so intrigued. “I like your answer but now for the second question, how do you handle the responsibility of protecting others?” This was the question that would determine whether the Bros had the heart to teach the next generation of heroes.

Both brothers considered their responses,  and it was Luigi who answered first. “Honestly...It’s scary. You feel the weight of those lives on your shoulders. But being afraid doesn’t mean you stop, it means you care enough to keep going, no matter how impossible it seems." The green plumber remembered the times he fought King Boo to save his brother. "Right, Mario?”

“Mhm. You can’t save everyone all the time, and that’s a heavy burden to carry. But you do everything you can. You stand between danger and the people who need you, no matter what it costs.”

Even though he had only asked a few questions, All Might knew they were perfect to help guide the next generation of heroes. Perhaps they could even help Midoriya more than he could. For all his strength, he sometimes worried about whether he could prepare his apprentice for every challenge the future would throw at him. The brothers’ answers showed a resilience born from facing impossible odds. Perhaps they could offer Midoriya something more—a new perspective, a way to stand strong even when fear threatened to take over.

All Might straightened up, a proud smile spreading across his face. “Congratulations, boys. You managed to impress me.”

Mario and Luigi perked up, exchanging a glance.

“However,” All Might continued, his tone turning serious, “Before we go forward, you’ll face a challenge similar to what our students go through only we’ll push you a little harder. Consider this your entrance exam into hero society and as teachers at one of the top hero schools in the world.”

Nezu’s voice crackled over the speaker. “Before we head to U.A., we should ensure they retrieve their items from the evidence room. We wouldn’t want them under-equipped for what’s to come.”

The brothers nodded enthusiastically, eager to be reunited with their gear.

Tsukauchi was waiting in the hall, leaning on the doorframe. “Your stuff’s all packed up and ready to go.” He yawned. “Just try not to break any more tables.” He then lead them to the evidence room and presented their confiscated items.

Mario and Luigi carefully picked up their mallets. Mario gave the mallet an experimental lift, making sure he had control over its weight this time. “We’re-a sorry about the damage. We didn’t realize just how out of place these would be here.”

Luigi fidgeted with his cap. “If you need-a payment for repairs, we can cover it.”

Tsukauchi was about to wave it off when Mario reached into the gold coin bag and produced a shimmering, oversized gold coin. “I’m not sure what the currency is here, so I’m giving you the next best thing!” He held it out with a grin.

The officer blinked, taking the coin with a mixture of curiosity and amusement. “Well… it’s not yen, but I’ll give it to the finance department and see what they say.”

Nezu, perched nearby, chuckled. “At the very least, it will make an interesting paperweight for the station.”

Mario and Luigi gave polite bows before pocketing their items.

“Now that we’ve-a got our stuff,” Mario said, turning to All Might, “Lead the way!

With All Might leading the way, they exited the station and leaped toward U.A. High School. Nezu hopped onto All Might’s shoulder as Mario and Luigi followed with surprising ease, their jumps keeping pace with All Might’s powerful strides.

U.A High School, Front Gate

The Bros. stood before U.A. High School, taking in the towering marvel that stretched high into the sky. The main building’s glass façade gleamed under the sunlight, reflecting the world around it. Its proud H-shaped structure stood as a beacon of hope and determination, both welcoming and intimidating at once.

Mario squinted up at the building. “Mama-Mia, they sure didn’t skimp on the-a presentation.” He crossed his arms, nodding in approval.

Luigi, standing just a step behind, felt a shiver run down his spine. “There’s something about this place. It’s like it's … alive.” He wasn’t sure how else to describe it. It wasn’t just a school—it felt like a fortress of dreams and expectations, holding the hopes of countless students and heroes-in-training.

Even though they had seen their fair share of strange worlds and grand castles, U.A. High had its own unique aura. It didn’t rely on pomp or elaborate design to impress. It radiated with the hard work, determination, and sacrifices of all those who had passed through its halls. The glass wasn’t just a material, it seemed to reflect every triumph, every struggle, and every hope.

Mario gave his brother a pat on the back. “If we’re going to prove ourselves anywhere, it’s here.”

Nezu and All Might exchange amused glances. The brothers’ expressions were a mix of awe and readiness. Whatever came next, they weren’t planning to back down.

“Shall we?” Nezu asked with a smile, gesturing toward the entrance.

With a deep breath, the Mario Bros. took their first steps toward U.A.’s gates, ready for whatever challenge awaited inside.

When they reached the front entrance of U.A., the brothers paused, taking in the scene before them. Three figures stood near the door, locked in conversation.

A tall, blonde man in yellow-tinted sunglasses threw his head back with a booming laugh. “And then—get this—the guy just tripped over his own cape! Never seen anyone try so hard to look cool and fail so hard!” He pointed at his colleague, who smirked at the story’s punchline.

The woman had a commanding presence, her long black hair cascading over her shoulders. She leaned slightly on one hip, looking effortlessly confident as she listened to the story. Her red lips curled into a sly grin.

The third figure stood a few feet away from them with his arms crossed. Dark hair framed a perpetually tired face, and he didn’t seem amused by the story or much of anything, really. Still, despite his gruff demeanor, there was something sharp about him, like he saw more than he let on.

As the blonde man turned to notice the newcomers, he immediately lit up. “Oh-ho! Guests in the house!” He dashed over with startling speed and leaned in close, hands on his hips. “What do we have here? Mario and Luigi, right?”

Mario offered a polite nod, used to larger-than-life personalities. “That’s right.”

Luigi, however, shrank back slightly. “Uh… yeah. According to Nezu, you must be… Present Mic?”

“Bingo! Nice to meetcha!” Mic stood up straight and gave a mock salute. “DJ, voice hero, and walking hype machine at your service! You’ve entered U.A. High, the finest hero school in the world. And you’re about to meet the coolest staff this side of Japan.” He gave an exaggerated thumb-point back at his colleagues.

The woman stepped forward next. Her sharp heels clicked against the pavement, and she gave the brothers a friendly, but appraising, glance. “I’m Midnight, the R-Rated Hero. But don’t let the name fool you, I’m only a little scandalous.” She winked, her playful tone balancing between teasing and genuine interest. “Nezu told me you’d be paying us a visit. I’m curious to see what you’ve got.”

Luigi gulped. “W-we’re just here to help, not cause-a any trouble.”

“Relax,” she said with a soft chuckle. “I only bite if I’m provoked.”

Finally, the grumpy man walked over, his gait slow and deliberate. He stopped a few paces away, eyes narrowed as if he were sizing up the brothers. “Eraserhead,” he said simply. “I teach Class 1-A.”

“And… that’s it?” Luigi whispered to Mario.

“That’s it,” Eraserhead confirmed. “If you’re here to impress, you’ll need more than smiles and chatter.” He looked at All Might. “You’re bringing them to Ground Gamma, I assume?”

All Might gave his faculty co-worker a grin. “Exactly. They’ll get the full experience.”

“Good,” Eraserhead replied. “I’ll be watching.”

Luigi visibly sweaty under Eraserhead’s intense stare, but Mario gave him a firm pat on the back. “Let's-a go, Weegee,” he said, giving his brother the confidence to push forward.

Present Mic’s boisterous energy returned. “Oh, this is gonna be good! Can’t wait to see what you guys are packing!” He led the way inside, Midnight following with amusement, and Eraserhead trailing behind.

As they walked down the corridor toward Ground Gamma, Present Mic glanced over his shoulder at the brothers. His eyes sparkled with curiosity behind his yellow-tinted shades. “So, tell me. What kind of heroics have you both done? You know, to get Nezu’s attention like that.”

Mario gave a modest shrug. “We don’t really-a think of ourselves as heroes, just plumbers who happen to-a deal with, unusual problems.”

Mic’s grin widened. “Unusual? Try me. I’ve seen everything from giant robots to slime villains. What’s unusual to you?”

“Well, there was-a that time we saved our world from a giant fire-breathing turtle-dragon. Multiple times, in fact.”

Present Mic froze in mid-step. “Wait. What?”

Luigi nodded, still looking a little sheepish. “Yeah. His name’s Bowser. Big guy, bad temper. He, uh, kidnaps the princess a lot. It’s kind of his thing.”

“Kind of his thing?” Midnight chimed in, her voice laced with amusement. “You make it sound like it’s a regular Tuesday.”

“It… kinda is,” Luigi admitted. “But we always get her-a back.”

“Okay, okay,” Present Mic said, waving his hands. “So you’re telling me you’ve got an arch nemesis—a literal fire-breathing monster—who kidnaps royalty on the regular, and you just handle it like it’s another day on the job?”

Mario gave a small chuckle. “Pretty much. It’s all about staying calm under pressure.”

“And jumping,” Luigi added. “Lotsa jumping.”

Midnight raised an eyebrow. “So, you’re telling me jumping is a big part of your strategy?”

“It’s saved-a our lives more times than we can count,” Mario replied. “Jumping on enemies, jumping over pits, jumping on blocks. You’d be surprised how useful it is.”

Present Mic burst out laughing. “You two are something else! A couple of jumping plumbers who fight monsters? That’s gotta be the most ridiculous and awesome thing I’ve heard all week!”

Eraserhead, who had remained silent until now, finally spoke up. “Ridiculous or not, they’re still here. Nezu doesn’t waste time on people who can’t back up their stories.”

“That’s-a true,” Mario said, nodding. “We may not be the traditional kind-a heroes, but we’ve faced danger plenty of times. We know how to-a handle ourselves.”

Luigi, trying to muster more confidence, added, “Even when things get scary, we don’t back down.”

Present Mic clapped his hands together. “I like it. You’ve got guts. Let’s see if you’ve got the moves to match.”

With that, they continued walking, Ground Gamma drawing closer with every step.

As they arrived at Ground Gamma, the industrial training ground loomed before them, with towering pipes and metal catwalks bridging the landscape like a giant maze. The brothers took in every detail. The labyrinthine layout, the heavy machinery, and the distant hiss of steam escaping from hidden vents.

Standing near the entrance were three more U.A. teachers, waiting with anticipation. Nezu, as always, stood proudly at the front with his ever-present smile beaming with excitement.

“Ah, Mario, Luigi!” Nezu called out, waving them over. “Welcome to Ground Gamma! I’ve invited a few more of our staff to observe this trial. Everyone, meet Mario and Luigi.”

The first was a muscular man with short pale gray hair and a serious expression, arms crossed over his broad chest. Mario could tell just by looking that he was a no-nonsense type.

“That’s Vlad King,” Nezu explained. “He’s the homeroom teacher for Class 1-B, and you’ll be working closely with him, along with Eraserhead, if you pass today’s test.” Vlad gave the brothers a curt nod, clearly sizing them up.

Next was a woman in a white space suit design using what appeared to be a puffy jacket instead of an actual suit. A black helmet obscured her face, but the warmth in her posture was unmistakable. “This is Thirteen,” Nezu continued. “Her specialty is rescue work. I thought she might be interested in meeting you.”

“Nice to meet you!” Thirteen said, her voice kind and welcoming. “I heard you’ve had plenty of experience protecting people. I’m looking forward to seeing it in action.”

Lastly, there was a humanoid block of cement with black, seemingly shut eyes and gray hair tied into a short ponytail. He opened his eyes as he looked at Mario and Luigi. “And this is Cementoss. He’ll be on hand for structural support. Ground Gamma has seen its fair share of destruction during training, and we expect this test will be no different.”

Mario and Luigi exchanged a glance. They weren’t exactly used to meeting so many heroes at once. But there was no turning back now.

Nezu stepped forward, addressing the entire group. “Everyone, the brothers will now face their final test: a battle against All Might. This will determine their readiness to become part of U.A. High School’s faculty,” he said, his eyes glinting with amusement. “And, of course, I’m eager to see how they handle themselves against one of our best.”

Vlad King folded his arms with a smirk. “This should be interesting.”

Nezu clapped his paws together. “All right, everyone! Take your places. We’re about to begin.”

The staff moved to the observation deck as Mario clenched his fists, feeling a mixture of excitement and nerves. “All right. Let’s-a do this.”

Luigi took a deep breath, steadying himself. “We’re ready.”

All Might stepped forward, the usual smile on his face replaced with a more serious expression. “I hope you are. Because I won’t be holding back.”

And thus, the stage was set.

All three men headed straight into Ground Gamma. The outdoor training grounds felt oddly familiar to the Bros. pipes were scattered everywhere, creating a metallic jungle. Once they were in the center of the training grounds, All Might faced the Bros. “Remember boys, when there's trouble, I AM HERE!”

"Let's-a go!"

"Okie-dokie!"

With the signal set, both Bros got ready as All Might made the first move.

All Might slammed his fist into the ground, causing a shockwave that headed straight to the Brothers. As the shockwave rushed toward them, the Brothers sprang into the air, clearing it with ease. They landed on a set of pipes, to which Mario jumped forward and aimed straight for All Might’s head.

The Number One Hero blocked the stomp but ended up skidding a few feet back from the blow. While he was distracted, Luigi then came down and slammed his hammer onto All Might's foot.

"YOWCH!! AGAIN WITH MY FOOT!?” All Might roared as Mario swung his hammer, the impact sending a sharp crack through the air. Before All Might could react, Luigi delivered a swift kick to his jaw. The moment his head snapped back, Mario capitalized with a spinning roundhouse that sent the hero flying backward into a wall.

The Symbol of Peace wiped some blood from his mouth. "That smarts but it's time to get serious." He then raised his arms, curled his fists, and then kept them close to his body. Luigi came down with his hammer, only for All Might to step back, delivering a right hook on the plumber's side of his body, sending him flying across the training ground.

Seeing this, Mario spun around picking up momentum, and threw his hammer at All Might, who he dodged. He then sprinted forward and tackled the red plumber through a pipe wall. Mario planted his feet into the ground and slowly skidded to a halt as he gave a determined glare at his opponent. He jumped forward with his fist raised and delivered a haymaker to All Might's stomach.

All Might stood his ground as he made a quick right jab to Mario, who blocked it but then used an uppercut with his left hand strikingly plumber under his chin. The Number One Hero then started to throw different jabs, cross jabs, hooks, and uppercuts while the red plumber was struggling to keep up with the barrage of seemingly endless strikes.

Seeing an opening, Mario wasted no time locking his hands with All Might’s. The hero staggered, gripping at Mario’s arms—just as Luigi leaped back, eyes sharp with focus. In one fluid motion, he hurled his hammer forward.

The mallet struck true, slamming into All Might’s ribs with a resounding THWACK! A sharp gasp escaped his lips, followed by a few drops of blood. He clenched his teeth, muscles tensing as he pried Mario off.

"Are you-a ok?" Luigi asked him in concern.

“I'll live…” responded All Might as threw Mario at Luigi. The pair of brothers collided and fell to the ground. All Might was about to step forward but kneeled over, clutching the side of his body where Luigi struck him.

“TIME!” announced Nezu.

All three fighters stood amidst the wreckage, chests heaving, sweat dripping from their brows. The battlefield bore the scars of their clash—fractured concrete, dust still swirling in the air, and pipes bent out of shape from the force of their blows.

All Might, still catching his breath, let out a booming laugh. "Ha-ha! You two—*hah*—are something else!” He straightened up, wiping the sweat from his brow.  "Not many can keep up with me at full strength—even in a spar. But you two? You not only endured, but you made me work for it. That’s no small feat.”

Mario rolled his shoulders, wincing slightly. "You pack one heck of a punch-a yourself." Mario rubbed his sore shoulder, then reached into his pocket and pulled out a red-capped mushroom. With a grin, he held it out to All Might. "Here, trust me, it’s-a good for what ails you.”

All Might eyed the mushroom skeptically. 'This... is medicine?' He glanced between the odd fungus and the two brothers, who nodded encouragingly. With a shrug, he took a bite and immediately, a warm sensation spread through his body, easing the worst of his aches. His eyes widened. 'Incredible! It actually works!'

Luigi, hands on his knees, shook his head. “Mamma mia, I’m going to feel this in the morning.”

All Might chuckled, and then his expression turned thoughtful. “I was impressed by how seamlessly you covered each other. Every time I thought I had an opening, one of you was already there to block or counter. Your coordination, it’s almost instinctual.”

Mario grinned, tapping his chest. “We’ve been-a fighting together for years. We know what the other is thinking without-a saying a word.”

Luigi nodded, regaining his breath. “Mario charges ahead, I keep-a watch for danger. He takes a hit, I make-a sure to return it. It’s-a how we work.”

All Might’s smile softened with admiration. “That kind of trust, that unity… It’s rare. Even among trained heroes, perfect teamwork like that doesn’t happen overnight.” His expression turned serious. “You don’t just fight side by side, you fight as one. That’s not something I can ignore.”

Not a moment later, the other teachers came down from the observation room. “Holy Toledo, you guys are amazing!” proclaimed Mic. “I don’t think I’ve seen All Might go all-out like that in years!”

"That level of teamwork is rare," Thirteen said, clapping her hands. "Even pro heroes struggle to coordinate that well.”

"Mmm, impressive. Strength and coordination? Now that’s a winning combo." Midnight purred, flashing a smirk.

"Not bad," Aizawa said dryly. Vlad and Cementoss nodded in agreement.

Nezu, who had been quietly observing from the sidelines, finally spoke up. “Well, All Might, do they pass your little test?”

All Might took one last look at the two brothers, then gave them a confident thumbs-up. “Absolutely. I’d say they’re more than qualified to teach at U.A.”

Mario wiped his forehead with the back of his glove, still catching his breath. Luigi stretched his arm with a small wince, nodding at the praise. Even after all these years, it still felt good to hear it.

Nezu beamed. “Excellent! With your endorsement, I can move forward with the paperwork.” He turned to the brothers. “Shall we make it official?”

Still catching their breath, Mario and Luigi quickly adjusted their caps and exchanged a glance before nodding. “Lead the way,” Mario said.

The next day

The Mario Bros. sat in Nezu’s office, signing the final documents that officially recognized them as provisional instructors.

“Now, as for your responsibilities,” Nezu continued, sipping his tea, “You will primarily assist with practical hero training. Given your unique experiences and abilities, I believe you will provide invaluable insight into adaptability and teamwork.”

Luigi rubbed the back of his head. “We do work well together, but-a you sure we’re good enough to teach-a real heroes?”

Nezu chuckled. “If you can keep up with All Might in combat, I have no doubt you can teach a class of teenagers.”

Mario grinned. “Alright, then! Let’s-a do this.”

Six days later…

The sun had risen over Musutafu, painting the sky blue as the school grounds of U.A. High came to life. Today wasn’t just another school day, it was the beginning of a new chapter for Mario and Luigi.

The Bros. had woken up early, their years of adventuring making them naturally rise with the sun. After a quick breakfast—Mario insisting on a strong espresso while Luigi reluctantly settled for tea—they set off toward their new workplace.

By the time they arrived, the campus was already bustling with energy. Teachers exchanged greetings, and a few early students were trickling in, some chatting excitedly, others yawning as they dragged themselves toward the entrance.

Mario adjusted his red cap, taking in the grand architecture of U.A. High. “Well, here we are, Luigi. First day on the job,” he said with a confident nod, taking a deep breath. "Smell that, Luigi? The air’s-a full of fresh opportunities!"

Luigi exhaled sharply. "Smells like nerves and a whole lotta responsibility to me."

They continued walking, taking in their surroundings. The school grounds were immaculate, lined with lush greenery and modern architecture that contrasted with the familiar castles and mushroom-filled landscapes they were used to.

A few passing students gave them curious looks, some whispering amongst themselves. Mario and Luigi weren’t exactly unknown at this point, word had spread that the two plumbers who took care of a villain a week ago were joining U.A.’s staff. Some students had heard rumors about them going toe-to-toe with All Might, others speculated about where they came from.

"Looks like we got some-a curious eyes on us," Mario whispered with a grin.

Luigi chuckled nervously. "Let’s-a just hope they don’t expect us to breathe fire or shoot lasers from our hands."

Before they could dwell on it further, the bell chimed, signaling the official start of the school day.

"Well, Bro," Mario said, adjusting his cap.

"Time to meet the next generation of heroes."

With that, the brothers strode into the building.

Chapter Text

The Bros were walking down the hallway, passing by a few students while they were on their way to the teachers’ lounge. "You know, Mario," Luigi muttered as they strolled through the hallway, "we haven't-a really talked with teenagers before. Don't you think they might be a little hard to keep in line?"

"Ah, don't fret too much, Weegee. Have a little faith in yourself every once in a while. Besides, Daisy still thinks you're the best.” Mario grinned. “For now, we just gotta grab the license Nezu dropped off in the lounge, then head straight to the welcoming ceremony.”

As they reached the teacher’s lounge, they opened the door. On the couch, Present Mic was bobbing his head to music on his phone while Midnight lounged nearby, watching the brothers curiously.

"You know, we did hear you outside,” she said with a smirk.

“Oh, sorry,” Luigi replied, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Forget that who’s Daisy?" Midnight leaned forward, eyes twinkling with curiosity.

"O-Oh! Uh D-Daisy? She’s my girlfriend! I-I mean, yeah! Probably hard to believe, huh?" Luigi chuckled nervously, fiddling with his gloves.

There was a beat of silence before Mic whistled. "Dang, Luigi! Didn’t take ya for a lady’s man!"

"Ooooh, a girlfriend, huh?" Midnight teased, twirling a finger in her hair. "Do tell. Is she fiery? Sweet and gentle? Dangerous? *Gasp* bad girl energy?"

Luigi’s face turned beet red. "N-No! She's not like that at all!"

He fumbled through his pockets and pulled out a photo. It showed a young woman with lightly tanned skin, medium-length orange hair, and blue eyes. She wore a sleeveless yellow top with a flower brooch, matching earrings, sports shorts, and tennis shoes striking a victory pose with a golf club in one hand and a trophy in the other.

Mic leaned in and let out a whistle. "WHOOOA! Okay, Luigi you're not just dating, you're in pro-league territory! Sporty, confident, and a champ? Serious MVP energy!"

"Ho-ho-ho! She's gorgeous! No wonder you're blushing," Midnight purred, tapping the photo. "You've got a hidden charm, huh?"

"It's not like that! W-We’ve known each other since we were kids!" Luigi sputtered, practically flailing. "A-And she’s just… very enthusiastic!"

"Sure, she is," Mic smirked. "Bet she asked you out too, huh?"

Midnight leaned in, cackling. "Oooh! Bold girl energy, I like her."

Luigi groaned. “Mario, help me out!”

Mario grinned, then raised a brow. The younger bro can tell he doesn’t want to help; he’s enjoying his current situation.

“W-well, what about-a Mario, huh?! He’s got someone too!”

The room fell silent.

Mic and Midnight slowly turned to Mario, both grinning.

"WHOA, WHOA, WHOA—MARIO’S GOT A LADY TOO?!" Mic practically howled.

“Eye for an eye, bro," Luigi answered Mario’s betrayed stare.

Sighing, Mario took off his hat and revealed a small photo tucked into the brim. It showed a fair-skinned blonde in a pink sleeveless dress, sapphire brooch, ponytail, and parasol in hand looking regal, elegant, and somehow radiant.

“Her name’s Peach. Happy now?”

Mic laughed. "Yo! This is that princess you mentioned from that fire-breathing turtle story, right?"

"Yes,” Mario replied flatly.

Midnight stared at the photo and gasped. “She’s adorable! The mystique! The forbidden romance! A blue-collar hero and a literal princess? This is peak drama.”

“Sure is,” Mario muttered. “We can talk-a more at lunch. We just came to grab our teaching licenses.”

“Where’s Aizawa?” Luigi quickly asked, desperate to change the subject.

Mic cleared his throat. “He should be with Class 1-A, heading to the P.E. grounds.”

Midnight smirked. “Don’t think you’re getting out of lunchtime gossip that easy.”

Mario found the folder on the coffee table. “Noted.” He and Luigi made a swift exit before more questions could be launched.

Once outside, Mario looked at his brother. “No one else should know about Peach and Daisy. Agreed?”

“Agreed!”

“Let’s just get to Aizawa before we run into anyone else.”

As if on cue, Mario walked straight into a student.

Luigi got a good look. The girl had long, flowing periwinkle hair, round blue eyes, and a wide smile. She rubbed her head, blinking in surprise.

“Oh! You must be the new Heroics teachers!”

Before either brother could reply,

“How’d you get hired? Are your noses part of your Quirks? Are you brothers? Who’s older? Stronger? What’s with the hats? Do all your family have mustaches? Do you like pizza?”

“Uhhhh—”

Mario held up his hands, chuckling. “Slow down, Miss! We-a can’t answer fifty questions at once!”

“Oh, sorry!” she said quickly, puffing her cheeks. “I’m Nejire Hado. You can call me Nejire-chan! Third-year Hero Course!”

“I’m-a Mario. And this is my younger bro, Luigi.”

Nejire tilted her head. “Younger? But he’s taller!”

Luigi chuckled nervously. “Heh, lucky growth spurt.”

Mario nodded. “Nice meeting you, but we need to catch Eraserhead. Hope to see you around!”

As the brothers jogged off, Nejire tapped her chin. “Hmm... why do they remind me of someone?”

Both brothers were running down the hall, Luigi moving slightly ahead of Mario.

"Mamma-mia, anyone else we're gonna run into today?" Luigi groaned.

“And where are you two heading?”

A dry, tired voice cut through the air like a knife. Luigi yelped, jumping several inches off the ground and landing in a heap. Mario skidded to a halt beside him, eyes falling on a man half-buried in a capture scarf.

“Oh, Aizawa! We were just-a heading to the welcoming ceremony. Mic mentioned you’d be testing your students. Shouldn’t you be there, too?” Mario asked, tilting his head. His eyes drifted to the 20 students behind the hero, one of whom was already gawking.

“The ceremony is pointless. No-”

“AAAAAAAH! NO WAY!!!”

A pink blur shot past Aizawa before he could finish. Mina skidded to a stop in front of the brothers, stars in her eyes.

“You’re the guys I had pizza with! Marty and Louis!”

Mario chuckled, shaking his head. “It’s-a Mario and Luigi.”

Luigi gave her a flat look as he dusted himself off. 'At least she got both our names wrong this time.'

“Ashido, get back in line. Show some respect to the staff,” Aizawa muttered, clearly unamused.

“Ah, don't worry about it,” Mario said with a smile. “She’s-a just excited to see us again.”

“Wait, they’re teachers?” a tall boy with multiple arms asked, clearly surprised.

A student with short, dark blue hair and glasses immediately bowed. “It’s an honor to meet both of you.”

Behind him, a girl with a long ponytail observed them with a curious glint in her eye, while a shorter brunette girl subtly peeked at Luigi. A blonde boy with red eyes, however, glared daggers at them.

Meanwhile, a green-haired boy with freckles squinted in recognition. 'Mario and Luigi, weren’t they the ones who fought All Might on even ground?'

“So, would you mind if we watched your test?” Mario asked.

“Fine,” Aizawa muttered. “Just don’t distract anyone.”

With that, the brothers followed. Behind them, whispers spread like wildfire. In minutes, they all arrived at the open field.

“Alright, listen up,” Aizawa said, giving the class a hardened glare. “You’re going to perform seven tests designed to measure your Quirk’s potential. Anyone who doesn’t meet my expectations will be kicked out of the Hero Course and U.A.”

The class froze.

“But that isn’t fair!” protested a brunette girl.

“You’re right,” Aizawa said, cold and unwavering. “Being a hero isn’t fair. Emergencies. Disasters. Villain attacks. These are the realities of our world. Show me your 100%, and prove you belong here.”

Off to the side, Mario and Luigi exchanged looks.

“I dunno, Mario,” Luigi whispered, watching the pale, anxious faces of the students. “That’s a lot of pressure for their first day.”

Mario watched Aizawa carefully, taking note of his focus and how he scanned his students. “Maybe. But look at him, Weegee. He’s not just being harsh. He’s testing them.”

“Testing them how?” Luigi asked, still uneasy.

“Look at their faces. Fear. Panic, and determination. He’s pushing ‘em to rise above it. Not everyone can handle this kind of pressure.”

“I get that,” Luigi replied, fidgeting. “But it feels kinda wrong. These kids need to learn, not get torn down.”

Mario gave a slight shrug, his brows furrowed. “Maybe that’s just his way. But it ain’t ours.”

The first trial was a 50-meter dash. Up first were the glasses-wearing student, Tenya Iida, and the frog-like girl, Tsuyu Asui. When the signal went off, Iida burst down the track like a missile, his engines roaring, while Tsuyu bounded after him with powerful frog-like leaps. Iida crossed the finish line first, Tsuyu right behind him.

Aizawa checked their times. “3.04 seconds for Iida. 5.58 for Asui.”

“Wow! That one’s-a got speed!” Mario noted, eyes following Iida with interest. He pulled out a notebook and began scribbling. “Great form and acceleration. Needs a little finesse in turning.”

Luigi leaned toward him. “And the girl, Asui, was it? She’s not too shabby either. Maybe not built for land speed, but in water? Bet she’d be a superstar.”

As the other students took their turns, Mario continued jotting down notes: speeds, body language, quirks of their quirks. Iida kept the fastest time.

Momo Yaoyorozu impressed the group during the grip strength test by creating a clamp that shattered the device ingenious and practical. Shoji came in second, using all six of his arms to squeeze the grip machine.

Most students cleared the long jump with varying ease. Tsuyu leapt over it effortlessly, her frog-like mobility serving her well.

During the side-to-side test, Minoru Mineta used the bouncy balls on his head as makeshift trampolines, bouncing between the lines with manic energy. Both brothers noted his performance then grimaced at the way he kept leering at the girls.

Then came the ball toss.

Up first: Katsuki Bakugo.

With a feral smirk, Bakugo hurled the ball into the air, launching it with a violent explosion.

“DIE!”

When the ball finally landed, Aizawa read the number aloud. “705.2 meters.”

“HA! Beat that, extras!” Bakugo gloated, his palms sparking.

The Bros exchanged a deadpan glance.

He’s going to be a handful,’ they thought in sync.

Next was Shoto Todoroki. He calmly raised the ball in his right hand, then blasted it with a wave of ice. The ball arced into the sky, soaring past Bakugo’s mark.

“807.1 meters,” Aizawa announced.

The half-and-half boy nodded, unbothered.

Momo stepped up next. Unzipping the top of her tracksuit to reveal her stomach and sports bra, she created an old-fashioned cannon from her body’s lipids. With precise aim, she loaded the ball and fired it.

The class watched in awe as it sailed across the sky.

“1000.8 meters,” Aizawa said. Even he looked mildly impressed.

“Damn! That’s gotta be the best so far!” Mina said, clapping.

Ochako Uraraka was next. The brunette who’d been eyeing Luigi earlier stepped into the circle. With a quiet “Release,” she launched the ball upward and didn’t stop. It kept rising until it disappeared from view.

“Infinity,” Aizawa read off calmly.

“Oops! Sorry about that!” Ochako scratched her head, giggling.

As a few classmates cheered, Bakugo glared murderously.

Finally, it was Izuku Midoriya’s turn.

The moment he stepped up, Bakugo’s entire demeanor shifted. His glare darkened; his sneer deepened. Sparks hissed from his hands.

Mario noticed. “He’s-a definitely got something against that green kid.”

Luigi leaned in closer, whispering, “And it’s personal. Look how he tensed up he didn’t even flinch when Todoroki beat his score.”

Green lightning sparked violently around Izuku’s right arm. He inhaled sharply, pulling back to throw but just as he released, the energy cut out.

The ball plopped to the ground a few meters away.

Izuku stumbled, eyes wide, as his powered-up arm suddenly felt heavy and useless.

What happened?

Then, he saw Aizawa. His red-glowing eyes. His floating hair.

The electricity had been erased.

“I erased your Quirk,” Aizawa said, dropping his hair and blinking rapidly as he reached for eye drops. “You were wasting too much energy. You’d have shattered your arm if I hadn’t stepped in.”

Izuku stared at him, stunned. He can... turn it off? Just like that? Then, recognition dawned.

“You’re the Underground Hero, Eraserhead! Your Quirk erases others temporarily!”

“You’re observant. But that doesn’t change the fact that you're reckless,” Aizawa replied coldly. “All that power means nothing if you break your body every time you use it.”

Izuku’s shoulders slumped, shame rising in his throat.

What no one in the field noticed was Midnight looking down from the window. ‘Shota, I know you want the best for them and I know your intentions.’ an image of a young man with cloud-like hair flashed before her eyes. She then glanced to see the Mario Bros.

Mario and Luigi shared a look. Mario sighed. “He’s-a got potential. Just needs guidance.”

“Are you sure about this?” Luigi asked. “He looks like he’s about to fall apart.”

“I’m sure.”

Mario stepped forward and called out gently, “Hey, kid! Don’t beat yourself up. You’ve got something strong inside you. You just need to learn to control it.”

He turned to Aizawa. “Mind if we give him some advice?”

“Do whatever you want,” Aizawa said, already half looking away. “Just don’t expect miracles.”

Mario crouched beside Izuku, offering a reassuring smile. “You’re-a putting too much energy in one spot. It’s like piling too much cheese on one slice. It breaks the crust. You gotta spread it out evenly like tomato sauce on a pizza. Balance, capisce?”

Izuku blinked. Even his metaphors are Italian-themed, but that kind of makes sense.

He inhaled and activated One for All, again, this time, trying to let it flow through his whole body. It wasn’t smooth. Some areas buzzed more than others as his limbs trembled but it didn’t hurt.

“It’s not perfect,” Mario whispered to Luigi. “But it’s-a start.”

Luigi still looked worried. “You sure we shouldn’t step in?”

“Let’s-a see what he does next.”

With everything he had, Izuku wound up and threw the ball.

The dust kicked up. The breeze rippled. The ball flew far nothing fancy, just raw effort.

Izuku turned to Aizawa, holding up his hand, unharmed.

“705.3 meters,” Aizawa called out.

The rest of the class erupted into cheers. Ochako’s voice rang out loudest, practically bouncing with excitement. Izuku’s throw had left quite an impression.

“Nice-a job, kid! You’re-a learning quick!” Mario laughed, clapping the teen on the back with a hearty grin.

Luigi, still a bit nervous, added, “J-just be careful, alright? You’re-a making progress, but don’t push yourself too hard.”

But one student wasn’t cheering, Katsuki Bakugo. He was seething.

First, you get a Quirk… now you're outperforming me?! That damn nerd!' Sparks flared from his palms. His vision tunneled. Rage consumed him. “DEKU! YOU’RE DEAD!” Bakugo lunged forward only to feel a grip clamp down hard on his arm. In a blink, he was slammed to the ground.

He looked up. Mario stood over him, his playful demeanor gone. In its place was something ancient.

His eyes weren't those of a cartoonish clown anymore but of a veteran fighter who had seen many battles and lived to tell the tale.

“Enough.” Mario’s voice echoed through the courtyard, sending chills down the spines of all present, except for himself, Luigi, and Aizawa.

Bakugo grits his teeth, sparks crackling from his palms. But he didn’t move. Couldn’t move.

“If you attack another classmate again, you and I are going to have a serious problem.” Mario leans down and stares directly into Bakugo’s eyes. “Understood?”

Bakugo didn’t answer, but his hands slowly stopped sparking. He pulled his arm away and backed off with a grunt, avoiding Mario’s gaze.

Aizawa, watching from the sidelines, raised an eyebrow at how quickly Mario shut the boy down but said nothing.

With the tension broken, the remaining tasks proceeded without incident. The students, now more at ease, focused on completing the challenges. The atmosphere was lighter but still intense, with a sense of competition.

Mario and Luigi observed from the sidelines, taking mental notes on how each student performed. Some showed natural coordination, while others clearly struggled under pressure but what stood out most was their determination.

After the final test, the students gathered around as the rankings appeared on Aizawa’s tablet. Izuku held his breath, his pulse quickening as his gaze darted down the list.

19th place.

Izuku let out a breath, relieved he wasn’t last.

At the very bottom was Mineta.

The midget’s eyes widened in horror, his entire body sagging as the weight of his failure crashed down on him. He dropped to his knees, his face paling and tears welling in his eyes as his mind raced through all the consequences of being expelled. His breathing quickened, and his mind spiraled into full-blown panic.

‘No, no, no, no! I can't get expelled! This is my first and only-!’

"Oh, I lied," Aizawa cut him off, his tone as dry as ever. “Congratulations, you all managed to meet my expectations. Welcome to the Heroes Course.”

"So it was just a ruse?" Izuku asked, feeling the tension immediately vanish.

“I never intended to expel anyone. That would be an unfit way to start the year,” Aizawa said, his tone still as deadpan as ever. “The goal was to test your resolve, not to get rid of you.”

Mineta let out a loud sigh of relief, flopping onto his back.

Momo sighed, crossing her arms. “It was an obvious deception. Expelling someone on the first day would be illogical.”

While the rest of the students laughed off the ruse, Mario and Luigi exchanged uneasy glances. Aizawa may have played it off as a bluff, but Mario wasn’t convinced. He’d seen enough hardened leaders to recognize when someone meant what they said. 'No, he was serious about expelling them.’ Mario glanced at Luigi, his face still serious. “He meant it… He really would’ve expelled them if they hadn’t passed. That’s-a not how we do things back home, but I guess he’s got his way of teaching.”

Luigi shifted uncomfortably, his voice quieter. “It feels wrong to push kids to the edge like that. But I guess he does what he thinks is best.” The brothers exchanged a knowing glance, the uncertainty about Aizawa’s methods lingering between them.

With the students heading off for the changing room, Mario crossed his arms and frowned at Aizawa as he was getting into his sleeping bag. “So, you were really serious about that ‘expulsion’ thing, huh?”

Aizawa shrugged, completely unfazed. “If they can’t handle pressure now, what makes you think they’ll handle it when a villain’s crushing their ribs or they’re watching civilians die?” His tone was calm, but his eyes bore into Mario. “This isn’t a game. If they can’t take a hit here, they’re not cut out for the real thing.”

Mario’s frown deepened, his glare unrelenting. “But they’re-a just children. Isn’t your job supposed to be teaching them, not tearing them down?”

Luigi, standing by his brother’s side, met Aizawa’s gaze without a hint of his usual skittishness. “Then what’s-a the point of teaching them if you don’t give ‘em a chance to grow?”

Aizawa didn’t blink, his gaze steady. “Because they showed potential that meets my standard.” His arms remained tucked in his sleeping bag, but there was an edge to his tone, one that hinted he wasn’t about to entertain second-guessing. “My job is to make sure they survive. Coddling them isn’t going to do that.”

“There’s a difference between pushing someone to be their best and crushing their spirits.” Mario’s voice remained steady, but his eyes had darkened. “They're not going to trust someone who lied to them on the first day.”

Aizawa finally exhaled, his expression unreadable. “If their spirits are that easily crushed and they can't handle a lie, they’re in the wrong line of work.”

Nearby, Toshinori was watching the exchange. Instead of the muscular figure he was before everyone, he was a shriveled man with sunken features. This was his true form. ‘Damn it, what should I do? I want to intervene but I can't.’ the Symbol of Peace thought as he helplessly watched the exchange.

The tension between them was thick enough to cut with a knife. Mario stepped forward getting closer to Aizawa as the area around them started to heat up. His glare was even more intense than before as his eyebrows scrunched down and the fire in his eyes lit up.

“And what makes you think crushing their hope's wou-”

Then, a new voice interrupted.

“Now, now, boys, let’s not turn this into a turf war.”

The sound of heels clicked on the ground as Midnight stepped forward, her usual seductive grin subdued. Her gaze flickered between Mario’s narrowed eyes and Aizawa’s unwavering stare.

“You both want what’s best for the students, but you’re coming at it from different angles.”

She sighed, rubbing the back of her neck. “Aizawa believes in breaking them down to build them back up. You two?” She looked at Mario and Luigi, her voice lighter. “You believe in building them up first so they don’t break at all.”

Her grin returned slightly, though softer than usual. “Neither method is wrong. But maybe… there’s a middle ground?”

Mario took a deep breath. “Alright, Aizawa, we’ll leave it at this for now. But just because we disagree doesn’t mean we’re done talking about it.” With his piece said, Mario walked away with Luigi following behind him.

Aizawa let out a quiet sigh, rolling his shoulders before pulling his hood over his head. “Do whatever you want, just don’t get in my way.” With that, he leaned back and closed his eyes, already tuning them out.

The plumber brothers took a few minutes to calm down, but what Aizawa said rubbed them the wrong way. “I get that tough lessons can make people stronger but we’ve met people whose spirits were shattered beyond repair. And no ‘lesson’ could fix that,” Mario muttered, shaking his head.

“I know, bro,” Luigi murmured, rubbing his arm. His eyes darkened for a moment. “Not everyone gets back up again…”

Mario opened the syllabus, scanning the next section. His brow rose.

“Huh. The rest of the day’s for teachers to introduce themselves.”

Luigi’s eyes lit up. “Hey, Mario, what if we brought in 1-B for a little Q&A with 1-A?”

Mario grinned. “Didn’t know you had the planning chops, Weegee.”

“Oh, ha-ha.”

“I like the idea. Go talk to Vlad King, I’ll get things set up in 1-A.”

The brothers went their separate ways to each of the heroes' course homerooms. The moment Mario stepped into the room of 1-A, the students fell silent. A second passed before they realized who it was, and the tension melted away.

Mario smirked, crossing his arms. “What? Thought I was Aizawa? Don’t worry, I’m not gonna throw you out of U.A. just yet.” Some students chuckled, and he gave a hearty laugh. “Alright, kids, I wanted to-a personally welcome you all to U.A.!”

“Thank you for the warm welcome, Mario-sensei,” replied Izuku.

“It's fine.” Mario then walked to Aizawa’s desk and sat on it. “We are going to be having some guests as well.”

On cue, the door slid open, and a blonde teen stepped in with a smug smirk. “Oh, if it isn’t the famous 1-A, too good to attend the entrance ceremony. I suppose when you’re all so ‘special,’ little things like unity don’t matter.”

“Uhh, what's this dude's problem?” Kaminari asked, clearly clueless as to what this guy's deal was with their class.

Before the obnoxious blonde could say another word, he felt a shiver crawl down his spine. Behind him, Vlad King and Luigi were both giving him a hard stare. “Neito Monoma, we are trying to start an icebreaker with your sister's class, not a civil war.” Stated Vlad flatly.

“Yes, sir,” Monoma answered meekly. Behind Vlad, a few other students peered into the room.

“Umm, who are they, Mario-sensei?” asked Tooru Hagakure, an invisible girl with only her clothes visible.

“That would be 1-B, the other half of the Heroes Course student body,” answered Luigi, letting the students from their sister class get into the room. “Since we're teaching the first years, I figured we would meet the students and get to know each other.”

A few of the other 1-B students were carrying in some folding chairs to sit on. Once the students were seated. Mario got their attention, Luigi sitting by his side. “First, I did say I was a new teacher here with my bro, but we are two of the Heroic's Course teachers here at U.A.”

A pin dropping could be heard as the class was dead silent before it erupted into a series of questions from almost everyone.

“Wait, so you’re Pro Heroes?” Momo asked.

“How come we never heard of you?” Shoji added.

“How much ass can you kick?” asked Kamikiri, a boy with a mantis-like appearance, looking ready for their answer.
“Do you always dress like plumbers?” Juzo added.

“And what’s your Quirk?” Iida asked.

“Are you single?” Mina chimed in with a grin.

“Mamma-mia! One question at a time, please!” Mario laughed, raising his hands.

“You sure are an excitable lot, aren’t ya?” Luigi added.

“And to answer your questions in order,” stated Mario. “Technically we are, and we're still allowed to teach here. We’re from a faraway place and wanted a change of scenery. Yes, we can kick plenty of tail. We dress this way because we like it and we do dress up for different occasions. As for your last question, no, we’re not single, but we’d rather not give away personal details.”

As the rest of the class bombarded Mario with questions, Bakugo sat stiffly in his seat. His fists clenched, and his jaw tightened.

He’d screwed up. Badly.

His stomach twisted as he risked a glance at Mario, half-expecting a glare. But no, Mario was still laughing, answering questions with ease.

That was worse.

If he is the kind of teacher that lets things slide, Bakugo wouldn’t care. But Mario wasn’t soft. The guy had shut him down effortlessly before, and now he realized it he had made an enemy out of one of the teachers who’d decide his future.

Shit.

While some of the students were satisfied with their answers, one was still not answered.

“And your Quirks?” repeated Iida.

“Well, that is…”

The students leaned in, eyes wide with anticipation. Izuku’s pen hovered over his journal, ready to scribble down their Quirks the second Mario or Luigi answered.

A long pause filled the air as Luigi grinned.

“A surprise.”

THUD!

Almost the entire class faceplanted onto their desks or the floor in a chorus of groans.

“Are you serious!?” Kaminari wailed.

“We got baited,” Fumikage Tokoyami muttered, pushing himself off the ground.

Izuku, still frozen with his notebook out, twitched slightly, his pen slipping from his fingers and hitting the floor. “B-But… I was ready to take notes…”

Mario chuckled. “C’mon, kids. Ya gotta learn patience.”

“Now, let’s pick someone to help start the icebreaker,” Luigi added. Scanning the room, he looked over the students until his eyes landed on a young girl with orange hair tied into a side ponytail and turquoise eyes. “You, I believe you can help get the ball rolling.”

The girl blinked, noticing all eyes were suddenly on her.

“It’s OK,” Mario reassured her with a friendly smile. “Just say your name and maybe share a hobby or your favorite kind of food.”

Taking a deep breath, the girl composed herself. “Hi, I’m Itsuka Kendou from Class 1-B.” She gave a small but confident smile. “Back in middle school, people used to call me the 'Big Sister' of my class. I guess it stuck. I love learning new things, but martial arts is my real passion—though I only know the basics of hand-to-hand combat.”

“Huh, I think I can help with that,” Ojiro said, tail swaying slightly. “My sensei’s always looking for passionate learners—he’d probably love to train someone like you.”

“I’ve always been curious,” Jirou added, tilting her head. “Do you think karate would help someone like me? My quirk isn’t exactly made for combat.”

With that, the ball began to roll as most of the students from both classes started to mingle with one another. Kirishima was chatting with Bakugo, despite the latter’s annoyed expression. Ibara and Momo exchanged notes on hero philosophy. Kendou and Ojiro continued talking, animatedly miming kicks.

Meanwhile, Kaminari attempted to impress Pony Tsunotori with a spark from his fingers only to be scolded by Iida mid-showoff.

Overall, the students were starting to form friendships that would last a lifetime. The exceptions were Todoroki, who kept his distance from everyone, and Monoma, who glared at the students of 1-A.

Mario leaned over to Luigi with a grin. “Looks like the kids are warming up.”

Luigi nodded. “Told you the icebreaker would-a work.”

They shared a proud look, watching the chaos of budding friendships unfold like fireworks.

Near the doorway to 1-A's homeroom, Toshinori smiled, seeing how the Bros were able to handle the students. ‘ That will do boys, that will do.

Much later

As the school day came to an end, students filed out of the building, chatting amongst themselves. All Might stood by the window, watching with pride as Izuku walked alongside Ochako and Tenya, deep in conversation.

Footsteps approached from his right, and he turned to see Aizawa joining him.

“You know, Mario and Luigi pulled through today,” Toshinori remarked. “Not only did they help bring both hero course classes together, but they also got a few students to open up.”

Aizawa crossed his arms, his gaze shifting to the courtyard below. “I won’t deny that they’re hardworking, but they’re too lax with the students. You and I both know how dangerous the pro-hero life is.”

All Might nodded. “I know, Aizawa. But I’ve spoken with them—they have more experience than us. I trust them to guide the next generation toward a better future.”

Aizawa sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose. “I’ll admit, they have a way with people. Getting Class 1-A and 1-B to interact like that isn’t easy.” His eyes narrowed slightly. “But their approach is too soft. You and I both know that being a hero isn’t about making friends, it’s about survival.”

All Might’s expression softened. “I understand your concern, Aizawa. But I’ve seen how they handle themselves. They don’t just have experience, they have wisdom. They know how to shape young minds, not just through discipline, but by inspiring them.”

“Fine,” replied Aizawa firmly. As he walked away, he glanced back at the Symbol of Peace. “If they get any of these kids killed, I will make sure they are haunted by their choices.”

A breeze rustled through the courtyard trees as the school day came to a close, and the tension of earlier slowly began to dissolve.

Down by the courtyard, Nejire was walking out with her two friends, Mirio Togata and Tamaki Amajiki.

"Man, Tamaki, this place is heating up," commented Mirio, taking off his tracksuit top revealing a red shirt underneath and pulling out a red baseball cap with an ‘M’ on it to block the sun.

"I guess." Tamaki then removed his sweatshirt, revealing a green T-shirt underneath, and pulled out a green cap.

Seeing them adjust their caps while heading beyond the gate, Nejire couldn't help but stare at them.

Mirio noticed his friend's long stare and tilted his head. “Uh, Nejire, are you alright?”

Nejire squinted. First at the red cap, then the green one. She blinked once. Then twice. Red cap. Green cap. The gears clicked.

“You’re just like the new teachers!” she blurted.

Mirio raised an eyebrow. “Huh?”

Chapter Text

I do not own MHA OR Mario, they belong to their respective owners.

It was the second day of school, and Class 1-A was excited. The morning went by quickly, as they had the mandated classes, such as Math, Literature, and Hero Art History, being taught to them. The lunch period ended, and it was the course they were all looking forward to: Heroic Lessons.

“So who do you think is the next teacher going to teach us?” asked Tooru, waiting at her desk and looking through the syllabus.

“I don't know,” answered Sato. “We know that Mario and Luigi are two of our teachers since they told us yesterday.”

“Still, I thought the other classes in one of the top Hero Schools would have been more…exciting,” added Kaminari, leaning back in his chair.

As everyone chatted, Aizawa arrived, and the class fell silent immediately. “Three seconds to quiet down; you're learning,” he remarked dryly, walking straight to his desk. “Your next class will be Heroic Lessons, and your teacher should be here in a moment.”

As soon as Aizawa finished his statement, All Might peeked into the room. “I AM HERE…” He then jumped out from the door, and everyone saw him in full view wearing his silver age costume, cape, and all. “COMING THROUGH THE DOOR NORMALLY!”

His appearance caused almost everyone in the room to cheer loudly.

“It's All Might! He's our new teacher!?” exclaimed Sato, clapping his hands in excitement.

“And he's wearing his Silver Age costume, ribbit,” added Tsuyu, while excited, showed more restraint compared to her classmates.

“All right, young zygotes, listen up!” All Might's smile got everyone to quiet down. Your Hero costumes are already prepared and have your designated number. From the wall, multiple suitcases emerged, each labeled from one through twenty. “Get your costumes on and meet me at Ground B for your first lesson!” Once Hero finished, he jumped out of the room.

Boys Locker Room

Izuku adjusted his gloves as he took a look at the homemade hero outfit, which his mother had made for him. Sure, it wasn't made with the latest materials, but it had a personal touch that made it special to him.

He looked at his classmates' outfits, and they had the looks down pat for future heroes. Iida was wearing an aerodynamic suit that gave him a knight-like appearance, while Kaminari wore a costume that resembled street clothes, complete with headphones.

“So, what kind of lesson do you think All Might would teach us?” Sato asked his classmates, putting on his cowl over his yellow jumpsuit.

“Hey, it’s All Might; he's going to give us a hero lesson on being manly!” exclaimed Kirishima, pumping his fists in the air.

‘Knowing All Might, he would probably take a page straight out of Heroing 101.’ Thought Izuku, putting on his own green cowl and breathing mask. Looking over his shoulder, he saw Bakugo wearing a neutral expression while he adjusted his grenade-shaped gauntlets. ‘Kac-chan has been acting differently since he tried to attack me in front of Mario-sensei.

Girls Locker Room

Momo adjusted her red one-piece hero costume in the mirror. While it revealed a good amount of skin, especially her midriff and chest, it was necessary to use her Quirk efficiently.

"Man, Yaoyorozu. Functional or not, that costume still takes guts to wear,” said Jirou, adjusting her combat boots.

“Honestly, this costume is a bit more conservative than what I originally drafted,” admitted the heiress with a blush.

“Ah, don't worry about it, Yaomomo,” added Mina, having finished putting on a shoulderless leotard that was turquoise with a purple splotch pattern decorating her outfit. "Confidence, girl! You’ve got it, so rock it!”

Ochako looked over as she tightened her belt. “Oh, right. Ashido, you said you knew Mario and Luigi? How’d that happen?”

“You can just call me Mina. Anyway… they were completely lost, like a puppy, so I took them to Pizzeria Gardulla. Not only were they extremely polite, but Mario pulled out this massive gold coin to pay. The owner was grinning for hours after that.”

Tsuyu tapped her chin. “Ah, so that’s why Aunt Gardulla was in a good mood, ribbit.”

Ochako's jaw was on the floor from hearing how the Bros. paid a bill with literal gold. ‘How!?’

“But here’s where it gets weird,” Mina leaned in, her voice dropping slightly. “They were totes clueless about Hero Society. Like, full-on blank stares. I dunno. Maybe it’s some kind of secret U.A. test? Toss in some bizarre Pro Heroes and see how we react?”

Momo furrowed her brow. “That would be an unusual evaluation method, even for U.A.”

Tooru then waved her gloved hands to get everyone's attention. “Still, I'm excited to see what they can do and learn more about them! Come on, let's get going!”

As most of the girls left the locker room, Momo was lost in thought. ‘Something isn't adding up. They are Heroic teachers, yet they were asking questions about Hero Society most people would know.’

“Hey Yaoyorozu, you coming?” called Tooru.

“Oh, I am.” With that, Momo ran out of the locker room.

Grounds B

“Well, my Zygotes, I have to say, you all are starting to look like heroes!” proclaimed All Might as he looked over most of the students. He then noticed his protégé was late.

Speaking of the devil, Izuku ran out from the locker room, putting on one of his red sneakers as a final touch to his hero uniform.

“Hey, have you seen Mario and Luigi?” asked Mina.

“We're up here!” a voice called from above them.

The students looked up at the large mock building and saw the Brothers standing on the edge of the roof. Mario and Luigi glanced at each other, nodded, and then leaped off the building.

“Holy crap, they jumped!” exclaimed Tooru, pointing at the falling duo.

As the pair fell, both pulled off their hats, which immediately puffed up, using them as makeshift parachutes. Tooru let out a sigh of relief, seeing the Bros. landing safely on the ground. When the shock overcame them, the excitable students cheered loudly.

“That was amazing!” exclaimed Ochako, who had stars in her eyes.

While Izuku cheered, a thought came to him. ‘They still never mentioned what their Quirk was. Was turning their hat into a parachute part of it If so, what are their limits if they were able to hold their own against All Might?

"Alrighty, everyone!" Mario called out, leaning lazily on Luigi’s shoulder. "Today's your-a first real lesson. And my bro and I get to teach it!"

"After watching you yesterday," Luigi added, wringing his hands slightly, "We thought we’d start with something important: teamwork!"

"That's a-right!" Mario grinned. "We’re not just testing your fighting skills; we’re-a testing how well you work with your partner under pressure!"

All Might dramatically appears behind them, holding a remote high above his head like a trophy. "AND NOW, YOUR PARTNERS HAVE BEEN RANDOMLY CHOSEN!"

A few students exchanged uncertain glances.

Iida raised his hand, voice crisp. "Shouldn't we choose our partners for better tactical efficiency?"

“Actually, All Might has a point,” Izuku answered. “During an emergency, you have to work with other heroes in the surrounding area, even if it's less than ideal.”

“Young Midoriya is right!” exclaimed the Symbol of Peace before pointing at the screen above him. “Now, everyone, look up and see who your partner is!”

On the screen behind the teachers, the students' names flashed rapidly across the screen before locking into their assigned pairs.

Team A: Izuku Midoriya and Ochako Uraraka

Team B: Shoto Todoroki and Mezo Shoji

Team C: Momo Yaoyorozu and Minoru Mineta

Team D: Katsuki Bakugo and Tenya Iida

Team E: Mina Ashido and Yuga Aoyama

Team F: Rikido Sato and Koji Koda

Team G: Denki Kaminari and Kyoka Jirou

Team H: Tsuyu Asui and Fumikage Tokoyami

Team I: Mashirao Ojiro and Tooru Hagakure

Team J: Hanta Sero and Eijiro Kirishima

Izuku started to blush as Ochako leaned close to him. “Cool, we're partners!” exclaimed the bubbly brunette.

“Eh?” was all Izuku could mutter. He barely had time to process Ochako’s smile before All Might clapped his hands.

“And the first team-up will be Team B as they play the role of heroes!” Announced All Might. “And to test your teamwork skills, all the paired teams will face off against the Mario Bros.!”

“Ehhhh?!”

“That's right, you will be facing us!” exclaimed Mario.

“To keep everyone on their toes, we will be using a different strategy with each team.” Added Luigi. “All Might will be watching the matches as well.”

“The Hero team will go into the mock building to find a fake bomb that was made from papier-mâché within a five-minute time limit,” explained All Might, reading from some cue cards he kept on him. “The hero team will win the exercise if they either capture both villains with a capture tape, defeat both villains, or secure the fake bomb by touching it. However, the villain team will win if the time limit runs out, captures the heroes, or defeats the heroes in combat. Everyone else will head to the observation room with me!”

Shoto and Shoji gave a silent nod while their classmates followed All Might.

(Vs Shoto and Shoji)

Shoto and Shoji stood by the mock building, waiting for the signal to be given. Five minutes have passed, and neither student has uttered a word. The multi-armed boy shifted one hand into a mouth.

“So, Todoroki, do you have a plan?” Shoji asked the stoic boy.

“I already have one,” stated Shoto flatly, looking at the building with disinterest. “Freeze the entire building, go inside, and touch the bomb.”

“But shouldn't we work together, as that was also part of the exercise?”

“Begin!” exclaimed All Might, over the PDA.

Without hesitation, Shoto raised his right arm and unleashed a sweeping wave of ice. It roared across the mock building, encasing it in a thick, jagged glacier. Frost crept across the ground, and the air turned sharply cold.

Shoji frowned as the ice crept past his feet. 'He’s strong, no doubt but this is supposed to be a team exercise.’ Meanwhile, Shoto walked straight to the door and blasted it in. “Stay behind and keep me informed,” ordered the icy teen before heading into the building.

Shoji took a moment to extend his arms around the building, transforming his hands into ears. He heard Shoto's footsteps but soon picked up two more pairs of footsteps in the building.  He pressed his earpiece. “Todoroki, the villains are not frozen. I repeat-”

Static.

He tapped the device again.

Nothing.

Nothing but garbled feedback.

The multi-armed boy’s eyes narrowed. ‘They must’ve jammed the signal... or Todoroki already ran into trouble.’ Without thinking, he rushed into the building. ‘Damn it, did we underestimate our new teachers?!’

A few moments prior

Mario and Luigi stood in front of the bomb, the former tapping his foot in excitement. “Well, Luigi, how are you feeling so far?”

“Anxious,” answered the taller brother.

The bros were frozen when the ice was blasted into the room. The ice around Mario cracked, then shattered in a burst of steam and sparks. He stepped forward, grinning, his outfit now blazing red and white.

Mario quickly went to where his brother was and threw a fireball at him, freeing him from his icy prison.

Luigi shivered, trying to get the quick chill off him. “Brrr… you-a defrosted me just in time,” Luigi chattered, shivering. “Next time, I’m packing a scarf!”

Luigi quickly took out a blue flower and crushed it in his hands. His outfit shimmered with cool hues. Ice crystals formed around his gloves. “Oof, that’s-a better!”

“Well, bro, these kids don’t mess around! I kinda like ‘em!” Mario grinned, tossing a fireball in his hand like a baseball at the frozen door and melting the ice.

Luigi returned the smirk, and both bros high-fived each other as they gained a determined look.

“Let's-a go!”

“Okie-dokie!”

With that, both bros ran out of the room.

With Shoto

Todoroki scanned the icy floor; his earlier blast had left the place a frozen wasteland.

Before he could move on, he heard footsteps coming from upstairs. “What?"

“Here’s-a Mario!” Mario shouted as he burst through the ceiling, unleashing a blazing spiral of fire. “Hope you’re ready to heat things up!”

Shoto responded in turn by blasting Mario with more ice. The two attacks collided, generating a huge torrent of steam that blanketed the entire room.

The steam filled the room like a dense curtain, curling around Todoroki with each step.

‘Too much fog. I can’t see anything...’

He pivoted toward the faint sound of a footstep-

Too late.

Ice suddenly shot up his back, freezing him solid before he could react.

Luigi appeared behind him, wrapped some capture tape around his head, and like that, he was out of the exercise.

"All wrapped up like-a ravioli, bro!” Luigi exclaimed.

Shoto gritted his teeth, stunned by how quickly he'd been outmaneuvered.

"All right, Weegee, let's clear the air with a quick spin!" He heard his brother call out.

"You got it!"

The brothers spun in unison; their tornado move whipping the fog away like a giant fan. In seconds, the room cleared, revealing Shoto frozen solid.

“You okay, Luigi?” Mario asked, noticing his brother wobble slightly.

“Y-Yeah, just a little spin-sick,” Luigi muttered, shaking it off.

Around the corner, Shoji’s eyes widened. 'Todoroki’s already down? Great, It’s just me now.'

Without hesitation, he launched all six of his arms, three toward each brother.

“Luigi, move it!” Mario shouted, leaping backward.

Luigi rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding the strike. He spotted the embedded arms, tapped his temple a few times, and lit up. “Aha!”

With a flick of his wrist, Luigi launched six icy projectiles at Shoji’s outstretched hands. They struck with sharp precision, freezing his extra limbs in place.

“Hey bro, let’s-a wrap this up!”

“You got it, Weegee!”

Mario ran forward and leapt into Luigi’s grip. With practiced ease, Luigi spun around, gaining momentum.

“Time for a Swing Bros. combo!” Mario shouted mid-spin.

Shoji gritted his teeth, yanking hard to free his limbs but the ice held fast.

“Wahoo!”

Mario rocketed toward him, boots forward, and crashed into Shoji’s chest with a corkscrew double-kick. The larger teen toppled to the ground.

Mario quickly took out the capture tape and wrapped it around Shoji's arm, signaling the end of the exercise.

“M-Mario B-B-B-Bros. w-winnnsss…” shivered All Might, getting cold from Shoto's ice attack from the start of the exercise.

Observation Room

The class was stunned silent at the sight before them.

Not only did their new teachers take out a recommendation student first and so swiftly, but it was because that student was the son of the number two hero in Japan.

And he was taken out in less than a minute.

Shoji and Shoto have returned to the observation room; the latter notably has his head hung down.

Mario and Luigi, meanwhile, were taking care of the ice Shoto made, using the fire power-up that the red plumber used against the pair.

Then the silence was finally broken.

“Unbelievable!” exclaimed Mina in excitement. “I knew when I first met them, they were something huge!”

“Oh my God, they're amazing!” shouted Ochako with excitement, stars sparkling in her eyes.

“Incredible…” Izuku breathed out, looking at the brothers in awe. ‘No wonder All Might had difficulty fighting them!

Before it could devolve into a full-blown cacophony of disbelief and awe amongst students, the number one hero audibly cleared his throat.

“Now, my young zygotes,” announced All Might, getting everyone's attention. “What can we learn from Todoroki and Shoji's match against the Mario Bros?”

Momo immediately raised her hand.

“Young Yaoyorozu, do you have some insight?”

“Yes, I do,” Momo replied confidently. “Todoroki showed excellent control over his ice Quirk - but he was overconfident and ignored the core of the exercise; it was about teamwork.”

“Thank you, Yao-”

“As for Shoji, while he was at a disadvantage due to an uncooperative partner, he acted too hastily and didn’t gather enough intel before engaging.”

Shoji nodded and silently agreed to the advice the creator girl gave him while Shoto stared straight ahead, his expression unreadable. But the slight clench of his jaw betrayed that he knew she was right.

The bros returned from thawing out the ice around the mock building a minute later. Mario jogged up, brushing dust off his gloves. “Hey, All Might. We gave that building a good once-over. She’s-a not looking so good. The foundation’s cracked like an eggshell.”

“O-oh, noted!” All Might said with a sheepish laugh.

Luigi nodded. “We’d recommend cycling out-a different layouts anyway. Keeps the kids sharp, and keeps the building from collapsing on us.”

He glanced at the students, clapping his hands once. “Alright, we’re going to switch villain and hero roles for the next round. So, see ya soon.”

The Bros waved and exited the room, whistling cheerfully. The students looked at one another, some tightening gloves, others shifting nervously as the next names were pulled from the lottery.

(Vs Ojiro and Tooru)

On the third floor of the new training building, Ojiro and Tooru paced the hall in silence while devising a strategy.

“Alright, Hagakure. You scout ahead while I follow suit,” said the tailed teen, keeping his ears tuned for any movement. “Ok, now I'm going to strip off my costume. Please don't look.”

‘But there’s nothing to see,’ Ojiro thought. He looked away out of habit anyway, right before the door exploded open.

“WAAAHHH!” shrieked Tooru.

Luigi, wearing a navy-blue Penguin Suit with green overalls, slammed into the invisible girl.

“Not so fast, villain!” he shouted, tumbling with her across the floor.

Tooru kicked Luigi off with a surprised yelp. He flipped mid-air and retaliated by tossing a flurry of ice balls from his flippers.

“Wait, are those-?!”

Thunk!

One hit her square in the chest.

She froze, literally. In a flash of cold vapor, a block of ice formed around her, showing the outline of her body, leaving only her head exposed.

Ojiro twisted and hurled Mario over his shoulder. The red plumber hit the ground but rolled smoothly, kicking Ojiro in the jaw as he sprang up.

“You’ve got some moves, sensei,” Ojiro said, using his tail to parry a flipper-jab.

Mario grinned.

“You’ve got some too.”

The two exchanged a brief flurry of blows from tail, fists, flippers before Mario spun away, ice sliding across the floor and tripping Ojiro up just long enough for...

“Mario Bros. win the exercise!” announced All Might over the speaker.

Ojiro glanced behind him and groaned. Luigi was already tapping the fake bomb with a smirk.

“How are they this fast in penguin suits?”

“Oh, they're much faster in water,” answered Mario.

Luigi then walked over to Tooru and chopped the ice around her, freeing her from her icy prison.

“Thanks, Luigi-sensei,” replied Tooru, shaking off some leftover ice from her body. “I have to admit, the Penguin look is cute.”

"Wait, Tooru. Is your costume just gloves and shoes?” Luigi asked, eyeing the discarded clothes nearby.

“It is, why do you ask?”

Luigi gave a half-eyed expression as he was lost in thought. ‘I think I might need to have a word with the costume department.’

(Vs Sato and Koda)

Sato and Koda made a plan, the former would reach for the Bros while the latter would guard the bomb.

The muscular teen was investigating the floor below him, looking for the Bros. He had already ingested some sugar in advance and was feeling the high it gave him. A rock flew past him and landed on the other side of the room, making an audible thud.

Fueled by the rush of sugar, Sato charged toward the sound without a second thought muscle first, plan later.

A soft ‘pop!’ echoed behind him, and before Sato could react, a shimmering, iridescent bubble enveloped him. His fists bounced uselessly off the rubbery surface as he floated a few feet above the floor.

“What the!?” The teen tried popping the bubble he was trapped in to no avail. He looked over and saw that Mario and Luigi were nearby with a new appearance. Their hats and shirts were now lilac, along with their overalls being red and green for each brother.

“Nice hustle, big guy,” Luigi said with a smirk. “But next time, maybe try using those eyes before the fists?” The brothers walked past the trapped Sato.

“Wait, let me out!” shouted Sato as the bros went upstairs. When they entered the room, they found Koda cowering in front of the fake bomb. The timid boy stood frozen in place, glancing around as if hoping a squirrel might burst through the window to save him.

Mario threw a large bubble that trapped the teen, who began to float away as Luigi gave the fake bomb a casual poke. The sound of buzzers was heard afterwards. “TEAM F FAILED!” All Might’s voice boomed over the intercom.

(Vs Kaminari and Jirou)

Kaminari and Jirou were walking down the hallway toward the fake bomb. “You know, I thought they would be easy to fight. But after seeing how many different powers they possess with their quirk, who knows what they will have? Man, we are screwed!” gripped the electric blonde.

“Would you quit complaining?” Jirou shot back. “I already checked for movement, and from what I heard, they were on the top floor, surprise, surprise.”

She then put her earjack in the wall. After a moment, she frowned.

“Something up?” Kaminari had a bad feeling about the punk girl's expression.

“There are no footsteps.”

“What do you mean there's no footsteps?!”

“It means there are no footsteps, idiot!”  Jirou scoffed before punching the wall in frustration. “Great, we have no idea where they could be!”

Kaminari, however, looked behind Jirou and froze as his face started to pale.

“Oi, what's wrong?” the punk girl asked her partner, as Kaminari was shaking in his boots.

“G…g…g…ggg…”

Jirou then turned around and came face to face with a white blob with stubby arms that had a familiar nose, mustache, and red hat on. “HAHAHAHAHA!” cackled the blobby figure.

“G-GHOST!” both teens screamed as they bolted in the opposite direction.

From below the floor at the far end of the hallway, another ghostly figure rose, this one with a green hat and a lower-pitched cackle.

They skidded to a stop, eyes darting between the two apparitions. “Crap, I got this!” Kaminari shouted as electricity began to crackle across his body.

Jirou’s eyes widened. “Wait, Kami-!”

Before she could finish, Luigi shot toward her like a bullet. In a flash, he phased through the air and wrapped his arms around her waist. A blinding flash engulfed the hallway. In the observation room, students shielded their eyes as lightning exploded in every direction. When the sparks faded, Jirou was trembling with her arms crossed over her face. She opened her eyes and froze. She was transparent, and so was Luigi, who was still holding her. “What's just happened!? Did I just turn into a ghost, or did Kaminari fry my brain so hard I imagined it?!”

Luigi gently let her go, and they both flickered back into solid form. “Ah, just a trick I learned from a friend in this form,” he said with a grin.

Mario floated over to Kaminari, who lay twitching on the ground. “Mamma-mia, Denki, you’ve gotta be more careful. You nearly electrocuted your teammate.”

“Wheyyyy…” Was all the electric blonde could groan as he had a goofy smile and shrunken eyes on his face.

“Correction, I'll tell you when you're actively listening.”

(Vs Momo and Mineta)

Momo finished locking the last panel of her makeshift barricade into place. With her cannon aimed squarely at the door, she gave a sharp nod. “They’ll have to come through the main entrance. Once they do, we fire.”

Mineta, meanwhile, was not focused. As Momo leaned forward to check the barrel’s alignment, his eyes wandered, and so did his thoughts. ‘Man, Heroes Course is the best!’

His grin turned goofy. That is, until Momo shot him a glare so sharp it could’ve sliced steel.

He flinched. “R-right! Professional focus!”

Before she could call him out, a low rumble vibrated through the floor.

Her eyes narrowed. “Wait do you hear-?”

BOOM!

“WAAAHOOO!”

The floor erupted as tiles burst into the air like confetti, a pair of spinning drills blasting through the ground with explosive force. Dirt and dust clouded the room as two figures shot upward, one red and one green, each wearing dark-gray shirts under their signature overalls, their drill caps still whirring.

“Bet you didn’t-a plan for an attack from below!” Mario called, landing in a three-point pose with a cocky grin.

“Let’s-a rumble!” Luigi added, popping to his feet and raising his fists like a prizefighter. “Bada-bing, bada-boom, baby!”

Momo shrieked in surprise, stumbling backward straight into one of her snare traps. A wire snapped taut and whipped her upside down, suspending her by her ankle in midair.

“AH! Oh, come on! That wasn’t meant for me!”

“Oh no, Yaoyorozu!” Mineta yelped. He turned to the Bros and quickly plucked one of his sticky balls. “You want some of this, huh?! Take THIS!”

He flung a handful of spheres wildly at the plumbers.

Mario just smiled and leapt clean over the barrage, flipping midair like he was in a gymnastics final. “Nice try, but you’ll need-a better aim than that!”

Luigi ducked under one, spun, and kicked a nearby panel of the barricade. “Did you build this yourself? Impressive work, Miss Yaoyorozu! Shame it’s-a got a few design flaws!”

Momo groaned, dangling like a caught bat. “I caught myself in my own trap? Seriously?” She gritted her teeth as the blood rushed to her head. “Ugh, this is so undignified…”

Mario landed lightly beside her and poked the fake bomb with his boot. “Nice-a plan, but don't forget to think outside-a the box and have a backup plan,”

“Mario Bros. win!” came All Might’s voice over the speaker system.

Then, with a quick leap, Luigi sliced the rope holding Momo.

“Whaaa–!”

Mario was already there, catching her just before she hit the ground. Momo realized she was being held in a bridal carry, her face rapidly turning pink. “Umm. T-thanks…” she mumbled, flustered.

“No problem!” Mario said with a warm grin, gently setting her down.

Mineta’s face scrunched up. “Of course, he gets the princess moment.”

Luigi gently patted his shoulder. “You’ll get ‘em next time, lil guy.”

Luigi wisely did not tell Mineta that this was not Mario's first princess moment, knowing who his brother's girlfriend is. Or his own, for the matter.

(Vs Mina and Aoyama)

Mina and Aoyama entered the first floor of the building and found the fake bomb in the farthest back corner.

“Ah, this is too easy, mademoiselle Ashido!” boasted Aoyama.

“And you just jinxed it, Aoyama,” Mina replied before looking across the room with cautious eyes.

However, in front of the bomb stood Mario and Luigi or so they thought.

Mina blinked. “Wait, why do I see four of each of you?”

Aoyama’s confident grin faltered. “Pardon?”

All four Marios stomped in rhythm, shouting, “Let’s-a go!” as they closed in, while the Luigis spun hammers in perfectly synchronized twirls. The copies smirked in unison and then lunged.

“This is not so sparkly,” he muttered before yelping as the Luigis pounced while the Marios went after Mina.

“Clones?! Did they multiply using a Quirk or something?” Mina shouted as she dodged a swinging hammer.

“I believe this is…quite the mess we are in!” Aoyama deflected a spin-kick with a burst of light.

“Well, do something!”

"Fear not, mademoiselle! With my flashy Quirk, I shall make short work of these clones!"

Aoyama proceeded to bombard the clones with short bursts of his navel laser. It worked...until one of them tore through the fake bomb and blasted a hole right through it. Everyone then stopped to see the damage done.

“Due to destroying the bomb, Team E has failed the exercise,” announced All Might.

Mina gave Aoyama a stink eye for his screw up.

“Well, Aoyama, you have learned the first lesson on ranged attacks,” noted Luigi. “Pay attention to where you aim.”

Observation Room

Mina and Aoyama returned to the observation room, the former still sour at what happened and the latter slumping into a chair and burying his head in his hands in embarrassment.

Momo patted Mina on the back in comfort, while the pink girl smiled, feeling slightly better.

The students who had already faced the brothers were exhausted, either mentally, physically, or both.

Sato slouched in his chair, still feeling embarrassed by how quickly he was defeated. Tooru was covered in a blanket given to her by Luigi, who did not elaborate on why he gave it to her. Kaminari was still slightly dazed as he sat on the floor.

The remaining teams were anxious as All Might looked over the last remaining students before pulling out a ball with the letter ‘A’ on it. “Team A is now set to be the seventh match! Good luck, young Midoriya and young Uraraka!” proclaimed the number one hero.

Izuku gulped as he walked down the hall with Ochako right next to him.

"Are you ready, Deku!" asked the bubbly brunette.

"I-I am!" he fumbled a bit, but replied in a determined tone.

“Then let's go!”

With that, the duo exited the hall, ready for whatever challenges the Mario Bros. would throw at them.

Chapter Text

(Vs . Izuku and Ochako, Match 7)

“Alright, I think I’ve got a rough plan,” Izuku muttered, his eyes flicking between the building’s layout and the ticking clock.

“What do we do, Deku?” Ochako asked, flexing her fingers to prepare for her Quirk.

“Stick together at first. If they’re split, we can engage them one-on-one. I bet one’s guarding the bomb while the other plays offense.”

“And if they both come for us?”

“Then we improvise,” he said, giving her a small smile. “Just trust me.”

They rushed inside, boots echoing off the tiled floor. The ground level was eerily empty except for a central stairwell leading up.

“Waahoo!”

Mario dropped from the ceiling like a cannonball, yellow cape fluttering and hammer raised. Both students dove to opposite sides before Mario swung his hammer down. The hammer struck and cracked the floor as it impacted the ground.

“Uraraka, go! I’ll deal with him!” Izuku shouted, blocking Mario.

“But Deku-!”

“Go!”

Ochako locked eyes with him in a heartbeat, then nodded and sprinted up the stairs.

With Ochako out of the room, Izuku was now focused on Mario. “I know that you're a late bloomer, and I did help you out yesterday. So, are you-a ready to brawl?” asked the plumber, lifting his hammer back up.

With Ochako

Ochako had checked the second and third floors of the four-story building, while Izuku faced off against Mario. Narrowing down her options, that means Luigi and the fake bomb are on the fourth floor. Ochako stood by the lone door and kicked it down.

The bubbly teen stepped inside the room, her boots stepping gently on the floor so as not to make noise. The room was quiet. Too quiet. Her gaze snapped to the lone bomb in the far corner. No Luigi in sight.

“Suspicious,” she muttered, narrowing her eyes.

A sudden gust of wind swept through the room. From behind the fake bomb, a shadow emerged, casting a dramatic silhouette.

Luigi stepped into the light, now clad in a yellow fluttering cape and black domino mask, wielding a hefty hammer. His smile twisted into something mischievous while twirling his mustache with his free hand.

“Foolish little gravity girl! Dare to challenge ME, the legendary Mr. L? Prepare to be hammered into space dust! BWAHAHAHA!”

He twirled the hammer with exaggerated flair before striking a dramatic pose. “Now, enough playing... TIME FOR PAIN!”

Ochako blinked before bursting out laughing. “Is this part of the training, or did I just walk into a Saturday cartoon villain audition!?”

Luigi jumped forward with his hammer raised. The bubbly teen yelped as she rolled to the side, losing her helmet in the process.

Luigi grinned behind his domino mask, hefting his hefty hammer while his yellow cape fluttered dramatically, powered by the Cape Feather.

With a sudden leap, Luigi jumped into the air, as he swung the hammer down with impressive force. Ochako barely rolled out of the way, heart pounding.

“Okay, focus!’ she thought, steadying her breath.

Luigi landed with a thud but immediately tripped over his cape, tumbling forward and letting out, “Mamma mia!”

Ochako blinked, suppressing a grin.

With a quick hop, Luigi sprang back up and dashed forward, swinging the hammer low in a wide arc too low. Ochako seized the opening, using Zero Gravity to float just above the floor, and launched a sharp kick at his side. The hammer swooshed through empty air Luigi had leaned back just in time.

“Not bad!” he winked. “But let’s see how you handle this!”

He charged the hammer with a crackling glow then swung too soon, and the energy blast grazed the wall, sending a shower of plaster dust across the room.

Ochako coughed, waving a hand. “Careful, you’ll wreck the place!”

Luigi shook his head, brushing dust from his cape. “Even legends have off days.”

He lunged again, cape spinning only to snag it on a loose floor tile and stumble.

Ochako bit back a giggle but remained poised.

Luigi shook off the mishap and swung his hammer in a wide arc this time, he lost his grip. With a loud clang , the hammer flew from his hand, embedding itself with a deep crack into the far wall.

For a heartbeat, they both stared at the weapon stuck in the plaster.

“Mama-mia…” Luigi muttered, eyes wide.

Ochako let out a soft laugh, then squared her shoulders. “No distractions, right?”

Luigi slapped his palm to his forehead. “No time for that!”

Hammerless but unfazed, he whipped back into stance, every bit as dangerous. Ochako floated low, Zero Gravity at the ready.

And just like that, their dance of attack and dodge resumed—neither missing a single beat.

Back on the ground floor

Izuku planted his feet, still feeling the tremor of his first fight jitters but determined. Across from him, Mario spread his yellow Cape Feather like wings, hammer resting on one shoulder as he adopted his “villain” stance.

“Welcome to your doom!” Mario called, voice rich with playful menace. He snapped the cape forward, whipping up a sudden gust that fluttered Izuku’s hair. Before Izuku could fully brace himself, Mario followed through with a downward swing of his hammer, only to have the moving air catch the hammer at the last second and send it arcing upward like a boomerang.

Izuku’s eyes went wide. He tapped One For All through his legs and torso an even surge of power that bolstered his balance. He sidestepped the returning hammer, which Mario caught in mid-flight with a flourish worthy of a stage magician.

Stepping in close, Mario pressed his attack: a quick gust + hammer jab combo, using the cape’s wind to blur forward, hammer aimed at Izuku’s side. Izuku reacted instinctively, raising an arm that crackled green as One For All spread through both arms and legs. He absorbed the jab, gritting his teeth as the impact rattled him, then countered with a shaky but spirited palm thrust that pushed Mario back a step.

“Not bad for your first round!” Mario laughed, tapping the cape. A small whirlwind blossomed beneath his boots, lifting him into a low hover. He swung the hammer horizontally, cutting a gusting path toward Izuku’s ankles, trying to trip him.

Izuku felt the draft tug at his boots and nearly lost his footing then remembered his training. He pushed One For All evenly into his legs, launching himself into a stumbling backflip that landed him upright but off-balance. ‘I got to keep it together for Uraraka…’ He blinked, adjusted his stance, and let the Quirk settle in every limb like a warm pulse.

Mario drifted down, cape fluttering, and grinned beneath his mustache. “Ready for more?” He tapped the hammer twice against the floor, charging the head with a spark of energy. Simultaneously, he flared the cape behind him, creating a compact updraft. In one fluid motion, he soared up and around—hammer poised for a spinning overhead smash.

Izuku’s heart pounded as he tracked Mario’s arc. He flooded One For All through his whole body and braced. The hammer came down in a swirling vortex of wind. Izuku ducked just enough, felt the breeze roar past his ear, then sprang forward: a powered-up kick straight into the hammer’s shaft, sending both Mario and his weapon skidding across the cracked tile.

Lifting his head, Mario smirked. “Not bad. Not bad at all.”

Back on the top floor with Ochako and Luigi

Luigi yanked his cape free of the tile—but his hammer stayed lodged in the wall, head buried deep. He blinked, then stamped once on the floor, tapping his Cape Feather to whip up an updraft under his boots and spin into a gust-powered strike hammerhead trailing uselessly behind him.

Ochako pressed her thumb and forefinger together, activating Zero Gravity. She drifted upward a foot, then deactivated her Quirk by separating her fingers, letting her land on the ground safely.

Luigi dove in, cape spinning, aiming a hammer strike at her midsection. Ochako angled her body, floated aside on weightlessness, then deactivated again to land precisely on both heels. The springs in her boots compressed and snapped back, sending her in a low, spring-powered sidestep.

He recovered with a flick of the cape, whipping a sideways gust toward her. Ochako held her toes down, letting the springs and shock-absorbent soles stabilize her; her Quirk released so she could ground herself, then reactivated Zero Gravity to drift up and back.

Luigi lunged once more this time, a rising swing meant to knock her out of the air. Ochako deactivated mid-arc, landing on her springs with a muted thump , then immediately tapped her fingers again to float above his hammer arc. His blow missed, the hammerhead swinging at empty air.

They hovered, wind swirling from Luigi’s cape and silent weightlessness from her Quirk. Without a word, Ochako deactivated Zero Gravity one last time, her boots compressing for purchase, and used both springs to launch herself in a tight spring-powered hop toward the pedestal. Mid-hop, she reactivated her Quirk to nullify her weight and reach out.

Luigi whipped around, empty-handed, to block her path but his gust overshot, carrying him past her. Ochako hugged the fake bomb.

“The hero team wins!” announced All Might. The last echo of All Might’s triumphant roar faded into a hush. Ochako’s legs trembled beneath her as she slid off the bomb pedestal, her spring-soled boots thudding against the cool tile. A sharp wave of nausea seized her metallic vomit slicked the floor.

“I-I’m so sorry…” She gasped, white as the chalk lines on the ground, hand clamped to her mouth.

Luigi was beside her in an instant, heart pounding so hard it felt as loud as the PA system. He took out a four-leaf clover-shaped herb and placed it on her palm. “This’ll settle you right up,” he murmured, voice steady even as his own hands shook.

Ochako’s fingers fluttered before she grasped the herb. Her lashes drooped; the world slowed. Inhaling deeply, she let the cool leaf’s scent wash over her nerves.

Moments later, the tremor left her shoulders. Color bloomed in her cheeks. She dared a small smile. “Thank you, Luigi.”

He grinned, a hint of relief and pride dancing in his eyes. “Mamma mia, I knew it would.”

A few minutes before the exercise was over—Ground Floor

Mario’s smirk widened as he hefted his hammer back in both hands. Izuku’s fists crackled green, legs coiled like springs. For a heartbeat, the mock building fell silent—then both fighters lunged forward in perfect sync.

“Let’s-a go!” Mario shouted, cape billowing as he swung the hammer in a low arc.

Izuku roared, charging straight at the spinning mallet.

The klaxon cut off mid-wail, leaving only the echo of heavy breathing and then…

“Hero team wins!” All Might’s triumphant voice thundered through the speakers.

Mario’s eyes widened behind his cap; the hammer’s handle slid away from Izuku’s guard as he straightened, cape settling gently. He let out a breathy laugh. “We…won?”

Izuku’s chest heaved; his outstretched foot drifted back to the mat. He brushed a lock of green hair from his brow and managed a shaky nod. “Yes, we won!”

For a moment, they simply stood facing one another, chests rising and falling in tandem. The training hall’s lights glinted off sweat on Mario’s brow and the green glow still flickering at Izuku’s knuckles.

Mario gave a small bow, hammerhead tapping twice against the mat in a makeshift salute. “Thank you, Midoriya, your skill is top-notch.”

Izuku returned the gesture, voice warm despite his exhaustion. “And thank you, Mr. Mario your timing and creativity pushed me beyond my limits.”

All Might’s voice crackled again, bright and proud: “Magnificent work! You’ve demonstrated perfect teamwork and faith in your partner and that’s what being a hero is all about.”

Mario tipped his cap, a broad grin beneath his mustache. “Lesson one: expect the unexpected.”

Izuku’s smile was fierce with excitement. “I’ll be ready next time!”

They tapped fists in a final, crisp clash, then stepped back, shoulders squared. As the mat cleared and the circuit reset, Mario offered one last encouraging nod: “Onward, young hero?”

Izuku’s eyes sparkled. “Onward.”

(Vs. Bakugo and Iida, Match 8)

Bakugo and Iida stood on the third floor of the mock building, guarding the fake bomb. If they could hold off the Mario Bros., they’d win the match and Bakugo would prove once and for all he didn’t need anyone’s help. Especially not Deku's.

“Bakugo, we have yet to discuss our plan as villains,” scolded Iida.

“I know that, Glasses. I have a plan that will work!” snapped the explosive blonde.

With the signal going off, Bakugo ran straight for the door. “You’re abandoning our position without coordination! That is not how a villainous team, or any general team, operates!” Iida called after him, aghast. “And what plan do you have?!”

Bakugo glared back at his teammate. “Yeah, I have a plan: attack.” With his piece said, he stormed off, leaving Iida to guard the fake bomb.

Bakugo rounded the corner only to freeze.

What the hell?

There, crouched like a stalking predator, was Mario. Wearing a fuzzy yellow catsuit. Complete with twitching ears, padded paws, and a tail.

“Meow,” Mario said cheerfully.

Bakugo’s brain short-circuited.

"What the absolute fu-" were Bakugo's words before he was cut off by the surprising speed of the plumber in the catsuit. He shook it and sneered at him. “DIE!” The blonde threw a large explosion straight at his teacher.

Mario, instead of panicking, quickened his pace and smoothly dodged the attack by rolling to the right.

"HOLD STILL!" Bakugo kept blasting, but Mario dodged the attacks like a pro, almost as if he had seen all this before.

“You’re too angry, Bakugo. And-a you know what they say,” He leapt to a wall, tail flicking. “Anger clouds your judgment.”

“QUIT MOCKING ME IN THAT STUPID CAT COSTUME!”

Mario stuck out his tongue and then ran up the wall, going through the vent. With a roar, Bakugo charged straight after Mario.

“I’LL BLOW YOU TO PIECES, YOU DAMNED FURBALL!”

Observation Room

In the observation room, Kaminari was on the ground laughing.

“Is he… meowing?!” Mina was trying and failing to hold in her laughter.

Almost all the other students couldn't help but smirk at their teacher's playful nature.

Aizawa pinched the bridge of his nose. “I told Nezu this was a bad idea…”

Todoroki stared at the screen, expression flat as Mario darted across the battlefield in a full cat suit.

“…Of course it’s a cat this time,” he said quietly.

Momo, still softly giggling beside him, covered her mouth. “Even I have to admit, it’s a little cute.”

Todoroki let out a long, quiet sigh. “I lost to fire and ice. Bakugo’s losing to a cat.”

“I think I prefer my defeat.”

Mina burst into fresh laughter behind them. “Oh my gosh, Todoroki, no!”

Kaminari, wiping tears from his eyes, grinned. “Dude, you’ve been holding that one in since Round 1, huh?”

Todoroki didn’t answer. He just kept watching, arms crossed, analyzing every paw swipe and tail flick like it was the most serious fight in the world.

Back to the match

Iida paced in front of the bomb, muttering to himself. “A proper villainous monologue should be equal parts intimidation and elegance… Perhaps ‘Your efforts are futile, Hero!’ No, no, too cliché-”

THUD.

A soft thump made him stop. Slowly, he looked up.

From the ceiling vent, a shadow dropped down with surprising feline grace. Green fur. Twitching ears. A long tail.

It was Luigi.

In a green catsuit.

“Meowdy, villain!” Luigi grinned sheepishly, paws raised like a play-fighting kitten. “Looks like you’re outta lives.”

Iida blinked, frozen in confusion.

“What are you WEARING?!”

Luigi wiggled his paws and smiled. “A catsuit?”

Iida quickly composed himself, straightening his glasses with dramatic flair.

“No matter your absurd attire, I, Turbo Fiend, the villain of this scenario shall not falter in my duty!”

He struck a pose like an old-school stage villain, hand outstretched dramatically.

Luigi tilted his head, tail flicking.

“Did you rehearse that in the mirror this morning?”

Iida’s face flushed. “T-that is irrelevant!”

With a burst of his Engine Quirk, Iida charged, aiming to body-check Luigi away from the bomb.

But Luigi flipped backward with catlike agility, tail swinging as he perched on a pipe above the bomb.

“Betcha didn’t think a cat could climb that fast, huh?”

Luigi crouched on the pipe above the bomb, swishing his tail, while Iida powered up his engines, preparing to leap.

But before either could make a move.

BOOOOM!!!

The entire room rattled , dust falling from the ceiling. The bomb wobbled slightly on its stand.

Iida stumbled mid-charge, nearly losing his footing. “What in the world?!”

Luigi’s ears twitched beneath his cat hood.

He grinned, peering up at the ceiling. “Oh, that’d be my brother.”

BOOM! CRASH! THUD!

A distant roar echoed through the vents.

“GET BACK HERE, YOU STUPID CAT!!”

Another explosion shook the ceiling. Tiles rattled. Lights flickered.

Luigi chuckled nervously, tail flicking.

“Looks like Bakugo’s not taking it well.”

Iida clenched his fists, steam practically rising from his helmet.

“That maniac is going to bring the entire facility down! Hero or villain what are you thinking, Bakugo?!”

But Luigi, still perched above, gave a playful wink. “Me? I’m thinking this is the perfect distraction.”

In a blur of motion, Luigi somersaulted off the pipe and tagged the bomb with his paw.

BZZZZT!

All Might’s voice rang out over the intercom, “Hero Team wins!”

The victory buzzer echoed through the building.

Iida froze, staring wide-eyed at the bomb console as the realization hit him like a freight train.

He clenched his fists, shoulders tensing. "No, I let myself be distracted at a critical moment. My duty was clear, yet I allowed external chaos to disrupt my focus..." With a sharp breath, he adjusted his glasses and straightened his posture. “A grievous lapse in judgment. I failed in my villainous duty due to divided attention.”

But he didn’t sulk. Instead, he made a mental note: Stay focused no matter what distractions arise.

Third Floor

Mario and Bakugo were still mid-run, the tension unbroken.

“GET BACK HERE, YOU STUPID-”

BZZZZZT!

All Might’s cheerful voice cut through the chaos: “Hero team wins!”

Both froze.

Bakugo’s explosion-powered leap stopped mid-air. He stumbled, landing hard on his feet, smoke still curling from his palms.

Mario skidded to a stop, tail flicking playfully. “Oh! Guess that’s the round.”

Bakugo stood there, twitching. “WHAT?!”

Mario casually dusted himself off. “Looks like your teammate didn’t guard the bomb, hotshot.” He gave a cheeky wink. “Maybe next time, save some of that boom for defense, huh?”

Bakugo’s face darkened like a storm cloud.

“I’ll kill him. And then I’ll kill you. Then I’ll blow up the bell.”

Mario just laughed, hands on his hips. “Mamma mia, you’re really living that villain role, huh?”

Downstairs, Iida bowed slightly as Mario and Bakugo rejoined him.

“I accept full responsibility for our defeat. I allowed myself to be distracted from my primary objective. As a villain, I failed.”

Mario gave him a warm smile. “Hey, don’t beat yourself up too much. Even the best heroes and villains make mistakes when the action heats up. The key is learning from it.”

Bakugo crossed his arms, still fuming.

Iida adjusted his glasses, keeping his composure. “I will take that under consideration.”

Mario smirked. “Teamwork, fellas."

(Vs. Tokoyami and Tsuyu, Match 9)

Dark Shadow peered around the corner before coming back to Tokoyami and his partner. “It looks clear, Fumi,” said the sentient Quirk, giving them both a thumbs-up.

“Good,” Tokoyami replied, his voice low and even. He turned to his partner. “Be on your guard.”

“I already am, ribbit,” Tsuyu answered with her usual bluntness, crouching low with her fingers splayed wide on the cold floor.

Both teens were tense. Being the second-to-last team hadn’t helped their nerves—they had front-row seats to the Bros. steamrolling half the class with power-ups that seemed to defy logic, physics, and, in one case, gravity itself.

Then Tsuyu froze. Her throat puffed slightly. “Tokoyami. Do you hear that?”

A soft whoosh filled the air.

Like wind. But not from outside.

The hallway dimmed slightly as a strange mist curled along the ceiling, pale and cotton-like. It drifted lazily but unnaturally against the draft.

POOMF

A soft cloud popped into existence right above them. Then another.

Then a voice echoed from above.

“Let’s-a take this to the skies!”

Tokoyami looked up just in time to see Mario and Luigi floating on clouds.

Clouds with smiling faces on them.

Mario, in puffy cloud-white overalls with a white hat that appears to be a cloud, jumped out of his cloud, did a little flip, and ground-pounded right at their location.

“Scatter!” Tsuyu shouted.

Tokoyami dove sideways, Dark Shadow shielding him as they dodged the attack, but not the shockwaves as it slammed them against the wall behind them. Tsuyu launched herself toward the ceiling with a leap, dodging the attack just inches from her foot.

Luigi laughed from above, standing on a cloud. “Welcome to-a Cloud City, little heroes!”

Tsuyu’s eyes widened. "Up there too?!”

Tokoyami’s expression didn’t change. He responded immediately, his voice calm but urgent.

“We need to stay in control. Dark Shadow, cover us.”

The Dark Shadow swirled out, forming a shield between them and Mario’s attack. Tsuyu watched as the electric cloud Mario had summoned crackled above them.

But then, with a sudden blast, the cloud exploded, and Tsuyu’s reflexes kicked in. She leapt toward the ceiling, narrowly dodging the electric surge.

“Too slow...” she muttered, frustrated with herself. "I can’t keep up!"

Tokoyami, still grounded, raised his hands, focusing his control over Dark Shadow. His voice was steady.

“We’re being outflanked. The attack is coordinated they control the environment better than we do.”

A surge of wind suddenly forced Tokoyami back, and he grimaced as he was pushed against the wall. Dark Shadow fought to maintain its shape, but the wind was too much. Tsuyu landed near him, flipping to safety, but she knew they were getting overwhelmed.

She pounded a fist against the floor.

“We need more time to plan, Tokoyami!”

Tokoyami took a deep breath, forcing himself to center his thoughts. He glanced over at Tsuyu, who was already preparing for another leap. His voice was calm but with a hint of urgency. “We can’t keep waiting. We need to act now, or we’ll lose.”

Tsuyu, ever blunt, nodded without hesitation. “Right, ribbit!” She sprang forward, grabbing the nearest cloud in the air with her tongue, aiming to pull herself closer to Mario.

But as soon as her tongue latched onto the cloud, it disappeared into smoke, vanishing like a mirage. She cursed under her breath. “I knew it was unpredictable!”

Tokoyami, unshaken, refocused. He raised his hand. "Dark Shadow, increase your reach. We need to suppress their movement.”

Tsuyu glanced at him, impressed by his ability to keep calm in such a chaotic situation. But they were both still rookies, and in the face of unpredictable attacks, they couldn't keep up with Mario and Luigi’s speed and creative use of their surroundings.

As the wind howled around them, Tsuyu and Tokoyami worked in tandem, their movements more synchronized now that they’d gotten used to their opponents’ unpredictable styles. Mario and Luigi were proving to be formidable adversaries, using their power-ups in ways they hadn’t anticipated. But Tsuyu and Tokoyami were adapting quickly.

Tokoyami gave a small, focused nod to Tsuyu, who had been darting through the air, flipping and dodging Mario’s attacks with ease. She now has one goal: to make contact with the Bros. and give Tokoyami the opening he needed.

Tsuyu’s tongue shot out, grabbing the edge of a nearby vent, and she flipped backwards, springing herself into the air just as Mario leaped to avoid a wave of ice from Tokoyami’s Dark Shadow. “Gotcha, ribbit!” she grinned.

She aimed the capture tape at Mario’s outstretched wrist. With expert precision, the tape wrapped around his arm, pinning his wrist to his side, temporarily stopping his free movement.

Mario yelped as he tried to break free. “Whaaa?!” He tugged at his wrist, but the tape held firm.

Meanwhile, Tokoyami acted quickly, sending Dark Shadow forward, latching onto Luigi’s cloud, and yanking him from the air. As Luigi struggled, Tokoyami grabbed hold of his other wrist, binding him in place with the same capture tape, leaving him no room to maneuver.

Luigi tried to kick free, but it was futile. “Hey! Get off my cloud!” He growled, his voice now slightly strained from the tape’s constriction.

Tsuyu grinned, landing gracefully next to Tokoyami. “Looks like you’re stuck in the sky for now, ribbit.”

All Might's voice came over the intercom, loud and proud: "Hero team wins!"

With the announcement finished, Mario and Luigi immediately dropped their villainous personas, their once grandiose, exaggerated “villain” voices now replaced by their usual playful tones.

Mario stretched his arms wide, the exaggerated, villainous air disappearing in an instant.

“Whew! That was-a fun! And we did it without blowing up the place can’t say that’s-a always true!” He shot a playful wink at Tsuyu and Tokoyami.

Luigi jumped off his cloud and landed lightly beside Mario, his voice shifting back to its usual upbeat, carefree tone.

“You two sure know how to make things interesting, ribbit!” He slapped Mario on the back, chuckling at the absurdity of the match. “We may have lost a little too much of our dramatic flair, but hey, you guys had some good moves! Not bad for rookies.”

Tsuyu, still catching her breath from the intensity of the match, stared at the Bros. with an unreadable expression. Her throat puffed slightly.

“You two are weird,” she said flatly. “I don’t know what kind of Quirk lets you do that, but it’s annoying to fight against.”

Her tone was blunt as ever, but the faintest smirk tugged at the corner of her mouth. She wasn’t upset just stating the obvious. “But you worked well together. I’ll give you that, ribbit.”

Tokoyami remained quiet for a moment, his eyes shadowed beneath his brow. His arms were crossed, posture stiff, he didn’t take defeat lightly. Finally, he exhaled, voice low and serious. “I underestimated your theatricality,” he said. “I won’t make the same mistake next time.” His tone was somber but not hostile, if anything, there was an undercurrent of respect.

Mario clapped a hand on Tokoyami’s shoulder with a grin. “That’s-a the spirit! Keep adapting and you’ll do great, featherhead!”

He turned to Tsuyu, winking. “And next time, we’ll bring twice the chaos!”

Tsuyu blinked slowly. “I’ll be ready, ribbit.” Then she glanced sideways at Tokoyami. “Just, no overthinking it, okay?”

Tokoyami gave a short nod, his eyes narrowing thoughtfully.

“We fight again in the shadows but smarter.”

Luigi gave them both a thumbs-up. “You guys were great! Creepy, but great!”

Tsuyu gave him a dry stare. “Right back at you.”

(Vs. Kirishima and Sero, Match 10)

Kirishima and Sero were both tense, waiting for the Mario Bros. to make their move.

Kirishima cracked his knuckles, trying to pump himself up. “Relax, Sero. I’ve got you covered. You just stay behind me and let me be your manly shield!”

Sero, still scanning the room nervously, wasn’t so sure. “I don’t know, man... I’ve seen what these guys can do with those power-ups. I’m just saying, I’m not exactly confident in my tape holding up against whatever they throw at us.”

But before Kirishima could reassure him further, the door exploded open. Dust and debris filled the air, and for a moment, Kirishima braced himself, hardening his body. But when he saw what was coming through the door, his eyes widened in disbelief.

A massive boulder-like object came crashing through the door. Sero’s eyes went wide. “Huh!?”

Kirishima immediately went into his hardened form, standing his ground. “I got it!” he shouted, his skin turning to solid rock as he prepared for impact. “I’m ready! Bring it!”

The boulder rolled toward them, but it suddenly untucked itself, revealing a large, elephant-sized figure with a familiar red hat, mustache, and playful grin.

Sero blinked in confusion, his mouth agape.

“Wait, is that Mario?”

It was indeed Mario, except now he was an anthropomorphic elephant, and trumpeted with a loud, joyful pachyderm call.

“Let’s-a get this show started!”

Luigi leapt forward right behind him, also sporting his own elephant form. Both of them were bigger, bulkier, and ready for action with their massive trunks swaying in the air.

Kirishima, still standing firm, clenched his fists.

“Aha! So that’s how you want to play it. You’ll have to get through me first, then!”

Mario, despite his large size, was fast on his feet. He lunged forward, his trunk snaking out to try and knock Sero’s tape off the ground, sending it flying. “Nice try with the tape, but-a not today!” he laughed.

Sero, with his quick reflexes, tried to trap Mario’s trunk in the tape, but Mario used his elephant trunk to swing around it, narrowly dodging the sticky assault. “Whoops! Too slow, Sero!”

Luigi, still grinning from ear to ear, swung his trunk at Kirishima, aiming for a soft but powerful swipe. “You can’t keep up with-a this rock boy!” he teased.

Kirishima, already in his hardened state, blocked the strike, but the force of the hit still made him stumble back a bit. “Tch! That's all you got? I’m harder than rock, man!” He grinned, clearly enjoying the challenge.

Sero, now working with Kirishima, threw tape at Luigi’s legs, aiming to trip him. “Take this, Luigi!”

But before the tape could latch, Mario jumped in, using his elephant trunk to swipe the tape away mid-air. “Nice try, but I don’t think this tape will hold us down!”

Kirishima, growing more frustrated with every dodge, gritted his teeth. “Come on! Stop messing around and take this seriously!”

Before long, Mario and Luigi finally pinned Kirishima and Sero into a corner. Luigi, using his new size, pinned them to the ground.

Mario then walked over and touched the fake bomb with his trunk.

“And the final round goes to Mario and Luigi!” announced All Might.

“And that’s-a it, folks! Hero team wins again!” He cheered, throwing his hands in the air.

Luigi laughed, raising his fist. “I think we earned a victory dance for that one, eh, Mario?”

Kirishima let out a frustrated but admiring laugh. “Man, you guys are relentless...” He raised his fist in defeat but smiled. “I’ll get you next time, for sure!”

Sero, still panting but amused, shook his head. “I didn’t even see half of that coming. I guess we still have a lot to learn.”

Mario jumped down to their level, slapping them both on the back. “That’s the spirit! You two did great!”

Luigi nodded. “You made-a us work for that win, no doubt. Keep practicing, and next time, you’ll be giving us a real challenge!

Observation Room

The room was silent. The chaos of the Battle Trial had faded, but its echoes lingered.

At the center of it all stood Momo Yaoyorozu, her back straight and eyes sharp.

“Allow me to present an overview of Matches Two through Ten,” she said, voice steady.

“Match Two: Ojiro and Hagakure. While their teamwork was evident, their coordination suffered due to limited visual contact. Their abilities amplified their agility, but a lack of auditory cues rendered stealth ineffective. Their loss was not due to lack of effort, but incomplete execution.”

Tooru, still wrapped in the blanket Luigi gave her, perked up. Ojiro nodded in agreement.

Momo turned the page of her notes without missing a beat.

“Match Three: Sato and Koda. The bubble power offered strong defense, but static positioning gave it away. Sato charged ahead without cover. Koda froze under pressure. Without coordination, you left yourself wide open.”

Sato gave a sheepish chuckle. “Yeah, not my finest moment to start off the year."

Koda offered a quiet thumbs-up, face still red.

Behind her, Luigi quietly walked to the side table, uncapping a pitcher and pouring a glass of water.

“Match Four: Kaminari lost focus, panicked, and nearly electrocuted his teammate. Friendly fire is no joke. Jirou could’ve been badly hurt if Luigi hadn’t intervened.”

Kaminari winced. “Wait, I almost fried her?”

Jirou elbowed him. “Pay attention next time, genius.”

“Match Five: Myself and Mineta. A lesson in over-planning. The Drill power granted incredible offensive potential, but our window of control was narrow. Our plan was too rigid. I failed to adapt to Mario’s lateral tactics. That misstep was mine.”

Mineta wisely said nothing.

She paused only long enough to let the silence breathe, never for herself.

“Match Six: While Ashido adapted well, Aoyama’s inconsistency split their efforts. A power requiring mutual trust and timing exposed a critical weakness in team chemistry.”

Aoyama slumped in his seat. “But I sparkled…”

Mina gave him a thumbs-up. “Hey, you did sparkle. Just maybe sparkle away from the bomb next time.”

More nods around the room.

“Match Seven: Midoriya and Uraraka. You coordinated. You adapted. You trusted each other. That synergy made the difference.”

Ochako smiled. “Aw, thanks!”

Izuku rubbed the back of his neck, flustered. “Still not sure how they flew with capes?”

“Maybe some kind of support tech?” Ochako whispered. “Like a Quirk gear combo?”

Everyone looked at Mario. Mario just twirled his mustache, smiled, and winked.

Luigi returned, now standing just behind Momo, holding the glass patiently.

“Match Eight: Zero communication. Bakugo rushed in solo. Iida waited too long to react. The Bros exploited that divide.”

Bakugo scoffed. “Tch. Whatever.”

Momo raised a brow. “I can repeat that for you, if you’d like.”

“I heard you, Princess.”

Iida bowed formally. “Your observations are… accurate. I take full responsibility for my delay.”

“Match Nine: “You stayed composed. You used your Quirks to control the field. Adjusted when the Bros changed tactics. Well executed.”

Tsuyu gave a simple nod. Tokoyami placed a hand on his chest. “We walk the path of shadows… but we plan in the light.”

Izuku blinked. “That sounded deep.”

Mina whispered, “I think that was a compliment?”

She flipped to the last page of her notes.

“Match Ten: Kirishima and Sero. Solid teamwork. You adapted, worked together, and held your ground longer than most. You didn’t lose because you were weak but you just ran out of room.”

Kirishima beamed. “Manly to the end!”

Sero nodded. “We’ll get ‘em next time.”

Momo inhaled, folding her notes with quiet poise. Luigi, wordlessly, extended the glass. Without even looking, Momo reached behind her, took it smoothly, and sipped it once. “Thank you, Luigi.” She exhaled softly. Calm. Composed.

He gave a casual salute. “You earned it.”

As he walked back next to his brother. Mario grinned and whispered to Luigi. “She’s-a sharper than any Hammer Bro I've come across.”

The green brother nodded. “She’s-a got internal radar, I swear…”

The rest of the room? Dead silent.

"Uhhh...thank you for your insight, young Yaoyorozu." All Might replied, clearly doing his best to process how on point the heiress was. ‘Whoa...'

Ochako blinked. Kaminari mouthed, “How?”

Izuku whispered, “How did she know he was there?”

Shoto tilted his head, genuinely impressed.

Bakugo clicked his tongue in annoyance but didn’t have the words.

Kirishima beamed. “Manly to the end!” Sero nodded. “We’ll get ‘em next time.”

The class fell quiet for a beat, processing the battles, the lessons, and the weird-as-heck abilities they’d just faced.

Finally, Kaminari squinted. “So, uh… are we just gonna pretend we understand any of that? What was with the clouds? The suits? The elephant thing?”

“Don’t forget the penguin slide,” Jirou muttered.

“Or the cat ears,” Bakugo growled.

“Or the fact they’re like fifty,” Mineta added.

“We're 26,” corrected Mario.

Ochako blinked. “Wait. Do we even know what kind of Quirk they have?”

Mario and Luigi looked at each other… and shrugged.

Tooru’s blanket trembled as she commented, “They really like to keep us guessing.”

As laughter started bubbling around the room tired, sore, but light-hearted—Mario stood and gave them a gentle wave.

“Well done, everyone! Most of you may-a have lost the match but you won a lesson.”

Luigi beamed. “And remember sometimes, the weirdest tools are the ones you need most!”

The Bros walked with the students toward the exit, whistling cheerfully. Most of the students had a bounce to their step from the exciting first combat exercise with the brothers. Tooru was still wrapped up in her blanket, Kirishima was having a good laugh with Mina and Sato, Momo gave a small smile as she followed behind her classmates, and Izuku was frantically writing down notes with Ochako right next to him, peering at his notes with curiosity. They may be heroes in training, but for now, they are allowed to be teenagers.

Mario tipped his cap one last time to the class. “Until next time, students! Stay strong and-a stay weird!”

As the bros properly exited with 1-A folling behind them, the two teachers looked at each other.

"They’re ridiculous,” Aizawa mutters.

“Ridiculously effective,” All Might says, smiling. “Our students are learning."

And with that, the most bizarre training day in U.A. history came to a close.

Chapter Text

The morning air at U.A. High was crisp, the sun shining brightly as students from Class 1-A and Class 1-B made their way to school. Conversations buzzed around casually just another day of training, homework, and surprise explosions.

Waiting just beyond the gates was one of the most dreaded foes a hero-in-training could face: the paparazzi.

Word had gotten out that All Might was teaching at U.A., and the vultures were hungry not just for him, but for every bright-eyed, spandex-dreaming student they could corner.

Cameras flashed, microphones shoved forward, and reporters swarmed like moths to a flame.

Though frankly, that was an insult to moths.

And moths are adorable.

“Hey! What’s your opinion on All Might being here?” A reporter shoved a mic at Setsuna Tokage, who raised a brow and smirked.

“I think it’s Plus Ultra, obviously. Now back up before you lose that mic,” she said with a wink, casually flicking her pointer finger at the reporter.

“Are you nervous about being under such scrutiny?” another pressed Bakugo.

“Fuck off, vultures!” Bakugo snapped, stepping forward with teeth bared.

“Are you dating anyone?”

The third question flew at Ochako, who blinked, turned bright red, and clutched her bag like it was a life preserver.

“Wha-HUH!? I-I’m not answering that!” she squeaked, waving her arms like she was trying to bat the words away.

“This is getting out of hand,” Iida barked, raising his hand like a traffic conductor. “We must remain calm and focused! We are students, not media bait!”

But the swarm didn’t listen. Microphones and cameras closed in like a tightening net.

Mario and Luigi, standing nearby as faculty observers, saw the chaos unfold. They shared a look. This wasn’t the first time they’d dealt with crowd control. Mushroom Kingdom galas were less intense than this.

Mario cracked his knuckles and adjusted his cap with a grin. “Looks like we’ve got ourselves a jam, Weegee. Let’s-a help out. And don’t forget: they’re not in the Hero Course, capisce?”

Luigi fidgeted with his cap, eyes darting across the mob. “M-Mario, I dunno... they look-a real serious…” He leaned in with a whisper. “You think they’ll buy it?”

Mario strode forward like he was entering a grand battle. “Flash and flair, bro. Watch and learn!”

Meanwhile, Izuku snapped into action. “We’re not Hero Course students!” he shouted. “We’re from General Ed, Support, and Business!”

One by one, the students caught on.

“I’m from General Ed!” Ochako blurted, throwing on a winning smile as she adjusted her jacket. “Just a normal student trying to get into college!”

“Apologies,” Momo added with a prim, nervous smile. “Support Course. Nothing special.”

Tsuyu blinked slowly and nodded. “General Ed, ribbit.”

Yui remained expressionless. “Business.”

Ibara, frowning, bit her lip. “This is wrong," she muttered. “I hate lying.”

Kendou stepped in close and whispered, “Ibara, we don’t have a choice. Just think of it as a necessary tactic, like battlefield misdirection.”

Ibara hesitated, the knot of guilt in her stomach tightening. But the cameras were too close, and the crowd was pressing in.

“I suppose you’re right,” she said softly. “Even if it doesn’t sit well with me.”

Kendou gave her shoulder a firm pat. “We’ll talk about it later. Right now, we just need to get inside.”

The reporters were beginning to grow confused, their focus slipping as more students denied being part of the Hero Course.

Mario, spotting the opportunity, stepped forward with a dramatic flourish and his signature grin.

“That’s-a right! These-a students are not in the Hero Course, so please give them-a some space!” he declared, raising his voice over the chatter. His arms waved like a showman putting on a grand finale. “Hey, paisanos! Let’s move along!”

One reporter, more persistent than the rest, stepped forward, microphone still raised. “You expect us to believe none of these students are in the Hero Course? That’s a pretty convenient line, considering-”

He was cut off mid-sentence by Mario, who leaned in with a grin that didn’t quite reach his eyes.

“Do I-a look like I’m lying to you?” Mario said, voice cheerful but sharp. “Trust me, if I wanted to lie, I’d cook up something way-a more exciting than ‘general studies.’ Now back off before you start looking like the villain.”

The reporter blinked, momentarily thrown off by the plumber’s sudden intensity just in time for Present Mic’s booming voice to barrel into the scene.

“YO YO YO, U.A. FANS!” Present Mic’s voice detonated through the airwaves like a sonic boom. “THESE STUDENTS AIN’T FROM THE HERO COURSE! NOW LET’S MOVE IT, YEAHHHHH!”

The paparazzi recoiled from the volume, startled and unsure. Present Mic’s sheer presence sent them scattering in all directions, some still griping about the lack of a scoop, but all backing off.

The students got past the gate, which then activated a large metal wall to block out the reporters, allowing them to breathe.

Nezu, watching from the window above the school entrance, couldn’t help but smile. ‘Very well done, students. You handled that with creativity and teamwork.’

“That was great teamwork, everyone!” Iida said with a proud smile. “We made it through without any real trouble.”

Mario was grinning at Luigi and nudged him with his elbow. “That wasn’t so bad! We worked as a team, just like we’re supposed to!”

Luigi gave his brother a dry look. “I’m-a never doing that again,”

Present Mic, still hyped from the action, gave the students a thumbs-up. “You made it look easy! That was a good warm-up for the real challenges ahead!”

Outside the barrier, as the reports were looking at the barrier in shock, a hooded figure from within the crowd glared hatefully at U.A. ‘Soon…this rotten society will crumble to dust.’ He glanced off to the side of the barrier and found an isolated spot where no one would see him. A deranged smile crept onto his face as this was a golden opportunity for him.

Inside U.A.- Class 1-A Homeroom

The bell rang, and Class 1-A all but collapsed into their seats.

Shoji leaned back with a sigh. “That was a battlefield.”

“I still can’t believe we all pulled off that bluff,” Jirou said, slumping into her chair and twirling one of her earjacks. “I thought Bakugo was going to blow up a camera.”

“He tried,” Kaminari snickered. “But Iida tackled him with a ‘MEDIA IS NOT A COMBAT ZONE’ speech mid-charge.”

“I stand by it!” Iida declared, adjusting his glasses. “Heroism includes public composure!”

Mina stretched with a yawn. “I need a nap and three chocolate bars.”

Aizawa followed in, coffee in hand, eyes half-lidded as always. He paused as the room was silent.

“Good, you're learning.” The underground hero commented dryly as he set his coffee cup.

“Anyway, before you all start screaming again, we’ve got something to handle. It’s time you all picked a class representative and vice representative.” He pointed toward the board with a marker. “Democracy. You have ten minutes. Don’t make me regret it.”

Tenya stood up immediately. “A vote would be the most appropriate and fair course of action!”

No one argued, and slips of paper started making their way around.

A few minutes later, the tally was in:

Izuku Midoriya – Class Representative: 4 votes

Momo Yaoyorozu – Vice Representative: 3 votes

The room broke into light chatter.

Ochako smiled warmly. “Congrats, Deku. You’ll be great.”

“Thanks,” Izuku said nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.

Bakugo, meanwhile, slammed his palms on his desk. “Tch, what a joke! Four pity votes don’t make you a leader!”

Momo, already taking her role seriously, began jotting down procedures. “If we’re representing the class, we should set an example.” She smiled politely.

Aizawa finished the last sip of his coffee. “We’ll see how long that lasts. Alright, the meeting adjourned. Try not to burn the place down before lunch.”

As everyone was about to head out Tooru spoke up. “Uh… guys, there's a letter in my desk.”

“Who is it from?” Asked Momo.

Everyone turned. The letter was crisp and neatly folded, sealed with a wax stamp in the shape of a green L.

Subtle.

Tooru held it up like it might explode. “This wasn’t here this morning.”

Mina leaned over. “Read it!”

Tooru cleared her throat and read aloud:

‘To the radiant young hero with a sparkle in her spirit…’

Jirou immediately snorted.

‘You deserve to stand tall, fully outfitted, without fear of wardrobe failure.’

‘Consider this a small step forward. For modesty, and dignity.’

“Who even writes like that?” Sero asked.

“Tooru’s fan club president, apparently,” Kaminari replied, smiling knowingly.

Tooru turned the page.

‘Your new suit has been approved and is in fabrication. No more transparency gaps. No more awkward angles. Just power, function and modesty.’

Kirishima leaned forward, brows raised. “Wait, what?”

“Modesty,” Tooru confirmed, practically glowing.

Mineta’s jaw dropped. “NOOOOOO!”

“Shut up,” Tsuyu muttered, flicking him with her tongue.

There was a short scribble at the bottom:

Sincerely, the U.A. Heroics' Costume Department

P.S. The costume department is still recovering from ‘the event.’ No names needed. You know who you are.

The classroom is dead silent due to the implications of the letter.

U.A. Cafeteria

The smell of curry bread and katsudon drifted through the cafeteria as Class 1-A settled in for lunch. Izuku and Ochako slid their trays across from Iida, who was busy rearranging his food into perfect alignment.

“Iida,” Izuku began carefully, “You seem a little disappointed about the election. Was it because you wanted to be class rep?”

Iida shook his head, his hands chopping the air in precise motions. “Midoriya, Uraraka, rest assured, I am not bitter about the results! However,” His voice softened slightly. “In my family, there is a long line of professional heroes. My older brother, Tensei Iida, currently works as the Turbo Hero: Ingenium. He is a man of incredible bravery and integrity. I had hoped that, as class representative, I could honor that legacy by leading us toward excellence.”

Ochako tilted her head sympathetically. “Wow, sounds like it’s very important to you.”

Iida nodded firmly. “Indeed, but I will support both you and Yaoyorozu in every capacity!”

Izuku rubbed his shoulder. “Honestly, I believe you have a chance to be an excellent Pro Hero, Iida-san.”

Before the glasses-wearing student could respond, Mina suddenly plopped her tray down next to them, trailing along a small crew from Class 1-B. Setsuna, Kendou, Tetsutetsu, Ibara, and Pony squeezed in, carrying trays of their own. Momo and Tsuyu perked up at seeing their sister class join their table.

“Alright, spill,” Mina grinned, wagging a fry at the 1-A table. “We’ve all seen Mario and Luigi around. We know they have girlfriends. The question is~” She leaned in conspiratorially. “What do you think they look and act like?”

Iida stood straight up, looking mortified at Mina’s topic. “Ashido! That's highly inappropriate to talk about our teacher’s personal lives!”

“Ah, loosen up, Iida,” chimed in Mina, with a smirk. “I bet Mario’s girlfriend is a super sweet fashionista who can totally rock a sparkly dress, but also isn’t afraid to join him in a crazy race!”

Before Iida could argue further, Tetsutetsu butted in. "I’m calling it, she’s a total gym rat! Like, up at 5 a.m., hits the weights, downs a protein shake, then goes out and crushes whatever sport she plays!”

“Good answer! How about you, Yaomomo?”

Momo took a moment to think before answering. “Given Mario’s gentlemanly nature, I imagine she’s refined, articulate, and from a distinguished background and perhaps someone who enjoys diplomatic events.”

Mina gave the heiress an odd look at the idea that Mario's girlfriend wasn’t what she had in mind. “Okay then. Oh, Uraraka, what do you think Mario’s girl is like?”

Everyone turned to Ochako to hear what she had to say. “Well, she's gotta be super nice. Like, the kind of person who’d help you find your way if you were lost in a crowd. And maybe she’s a little clumsy sometimes, but in a cute way?” added Ochako with a soft smile. “Oh, and she can bake!”

Ochako nudged Izuku, hinting that it's his turn. Izuku blushed as he had everyone's attention. “Um, I think she’s athletic, but in a graceful way. Someone who’s not just strong, but adaptable. Probably really encouraging, too.”

Kinoko perked up with a smile. “Well I hope she likes mushrooms. Maybe she even has her own special mushroom recipes, shroom!”

“Well, that covers Mario’s girl, but how about Luigi's squeeze?” stated Mina before glancing at Iida with a playful smirk.

Iida, seeing all eyes on him, straightened his posture like he was reading off a formal report. "If Luigi is anything like his brother, then his partner must be a woman of exceptional poise and refinement. I’m talking perfect posture, flawless etiquette, the sort who never spills tea-"

Setsuna cuts in with a mischievous grin. "Or she’s the type to slam dunk a teacup just to see what happens. I’m betting she’s an adrenaline junkie. Skydiving, bungee jumping, maybe racing motorcycles for fun."

Iida glared at Setsuna for rudely cutting him off before Kendou chimed in. "Strong, competitive, trains every day. Like, gets up before sunrise and is already halfway through her workout while the rest of us are still asleep."

That earned a light giggle from Pony, who smiled warmly. "She sounds super friendly and fun to me! But I can also totally see her tripping over a rug and just laughing it off. Like, adorably clumsy in the best way."

The mood shifted slightly as Ibara chimed in, her hands folded in quiet grace. "I imagine someone soft-spoken and nurturing. The kind of woman who hums to her plants, and would sing lullabies to calm a worried heart."

Finally, Tsuyu gave a thoughtful head tilt before speaking. "She's probably good in competitions but not reckless, ribbit. The kind who lets people underestimate her then surprises them when it matters most.”

There was a brief pause. A hum of agreement rippled through the laughter barely had time to settle when-

WHEEEEOOOOOW!

The school’s security alarms blared through the mess hall like a siren slap to the face.

Everyone flinched.

“What the hell?!” Kirishima yelped, nearly spilling his drink.

Across the hall, a third-year shouted, “That alarm means someone got past the barrier! We’re under breach!”

Panic exploded like a flashbang. Students shot up from their seats, knocking over trays and chairs. The mess hall turned into a frenzied stampede toward the hallway, and the hallway was no better. The doorway jammed instantly as bodies collided in a cacophony of shouts and scrambling feet.

Tsuyu stumbled, nearly trampled by the crowd, until Luigi swooped in, scooping her up and carrying her to a calmer corner. “You okay, Tsuyu?” the taller brother asked, setting her down gently.

 “Yeah, ribbit. Thanks, Luigi.”

While the others panicked, Luigi’s gaze shifted outside. Past the reporters clogging the gates, a lone hooded figure darted by, slipping into a nearby alley. Even from afar, its movements felt deliberate. His eyes narrowed. A chill ran through him. Something was coming.

In the middle of the chaos, Iida's brain kicked into overdrive. His engines revved faintly, not from Quirk activation but sheer urgency. He scanned the scene, then spotted something off.

Cameras. Boom mics. Reporters waving notepads.

“It’s just the media,” he muttered.

That made his hands clench.

“Uraraka!” he called over the din. “Float me!”

“What? Oh! Right!” she tapped his shoulder quickly with her fingers, activating her Quirk.

Iida launched upward like a guided arrow, grabbing the support beam above the emergency sign and steadying himself.

With the entire hall watching in stunned confusion, Iida threw his voice with full force:

“Everyone, remain calm! This is not a villain attack!”

The noise dropped.

“The intruders are only media personnel who breached the barrier! There is no present danger!”

The hall slowly settled, the panic ebbing as students looked around, realizing the truth.

A breath passed. Then another.

Ochako and Izuku, still watching from below, smiled.

“Just like his brother,” muttered Izuku.

1-A's Homeroom

The air was calmer now. Students trickled back to their seats, shoulders slumped, and expressions drained. The chaotic lunch period had left its mark: some hair tousled, some uniforms crumpled, but the adrenaline had finally worn off.

Izuku stood at the front, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

“Um…” His voice, quiet at first, carried across the room as he ambled forward. “Everyone?” He paused until all eyes turned to him. “I have an announcement.”

Beside him, Iida blinked in confusion, still catching his breath from earlier.

Izuku took a deep breath, then bowed slightly.

“I’m stepping down as class president.”

Gasps and murmurs erupted across the classroom.

“What? Midoriya, why?” asked Kaminari.

Izuku smiled, a little sheepish. “Because, someone else proved today they were better suited for it.” He looked at Tenya directly. “Iida, you calmed everyone down, took initiative, and acted exactly how a leader should. That’s what this class needs.”

Tenya’s eyes widened behind his glasses. “M-Midoriya, I don’t know what to say…”

“Say yes,” Kirishima grinned from the side. “You earned it, man.”

Momo nodded. “It was a textbook example of leadership under pressure.”

“Textbook? I'd say he's a natural!” Mina added, giving Iida a thumbs-up.

Tsuyu blinked. “Ribbit. You even sounded like a megaphone.”

Even Bakugo, lounging in the back with crossed arms, begrudgingly muttered, “Whatever, better you than Deku.”

Tenya stood slowly, still a bit stunned. “Then, if it’s the will of the class,” he said, placing a hand to his chest with formal dignity, I shall accept the position of class representative. I swear to uphold it with honor, responsibility, and-”

“Fewer dramatic speeches,” Jirou interjected with a smirk.

The class chuckled. Even Iida smiled at that.

Elsewhere at U.A.

The atmosphere was tense. Holographic screens flickered with real-time data across the darkened conference room. Footage from security cameras played on a loop, brief glimpses of the barrier rupture, scattered students fleeing, and static interference obfuscating key angles.

Cementoss folded his arms. “Half the eastern sector’s defense grid was disabled in under three seconds. That shouldn’t be possible without inside knowledge… or overwhelming force.”

Present Mic, unusually serious, frowned. “It wasn’t just a lucky break-in. Someone knew exactly how to hit us.”

Snipe tapped a screen showing the broken perimeter. “And yet all we found were a handful of panicked reporters running their mouths. Doesn’t add up.”

From his perch atop the center table, Principal Nezu stared at the surveillance data with steepled paws. His usually chipper voice was low and deliberate. “No. This wasn’t the work of ordinary journalists.”

The room fell quiet.

“They may have been the distraction, but the breach was a message.” Nezu’s eyes narrowed, cold and calculating. “An element of evil either testing our defenses or declaring its intent.”

Midnight leaned forward. “You’re saying this was just the opening move?”

Nezu nodded slowly. “A declaration of war, perhaps. One delivered through disruption, not destruction. And now,” He looked toward the image of the fractured barrier. “We prepare.”

Back at 1-A

The classroom buzzed with a mixture of leftover adrenaline and curiosity until the door slid open with a ‘shhhk’.

Aizawa stepped in, sleeping bag slung under one arm and his expression as unreadable as ever. He gave the class a once-over.

“Settle down. This isn’t nap time.”

Silence.

He dropped the sleeping bag behind his desk.

“For today’s Basic Hero Training, you’ll be participating in a rescue exercise.”

A few students perked up at that. Mina gave a fist pump. Bakugo scoffed under his breath but didn’t argue.

“You’ll be suiting up and boarding a bus to an off-campus location,” Aizawa continued, tone flat. “Treat this seriously. Distractions will not be tolerated.”

He paused, then turned to two students specifically.

“Midoriya. Hagakure.”

Both perked up.

“Yes, sir?” Izuku said, bracing himself.

“Midoriya, your initial hero costume is too impractical for this type of exercise. You’ll wear the standard U.A. gym uniform for today.”

Izuku nodded quickly. “Understood!”

“Hagakure, the same applies to you. Standard tracksuit.”

Tooru sounded relieved. “That’s fine by me!”

Aizawa pulled out a clipboard. “Also, the costume department asked me to relay this note…”

He cleared his throat as if it physically hurt to say the words. “A new set of reinforced phaseproof undergarments has been successfully developed. Trial use pending approval.”

...

...

...

Mina, stifling a snort: “Wait. Phaseproof? For who?”

Aizawa didn’t dignify it with a response. He just let out a tired grunt, turned on his heel, and muttered, “Suit up. Bus leaves in ten.”

As Class 1-A gathered their gear and filed out of the classroom, the mood was electric. Not quite excitement, but a steady thrum of anticipation.

They weren’t walking like students anymore. They had a bounce in their step. The kind that says: “Let’s go show the world what we’ve got.”

In the hallway, a few familiar faces from Class 1-B had paused mid-conversation to acknowledge them.

Kendou, arms crossed and offering a confident nod, stepped forward. “Good luck out there,” she said, her voice steady but sincere. “Show ‘em what 1-A’s made of.”

Tetsutetsu gave a thumbs-up. “Try not to make us look too bad, yeah?”

Pony giggled behind her hands. “Be careful!”

Some of the 1-A students returned the encouragement with small smiles or playful salutes. Mina winked, Kaminari struck a cheesy pose, and Tsuyu offered a quiet “Thanks, ribbit.”

Then they turned the corner, and standing there, leaning against the wall with his usual shades on, was Present Mic, but something was off about him. He wasn’t bouncing and his usual hype energy was nowhere to be found. Mic straightened, arms folded, voice low and calm, a rare seriousness lacing every word. “Hey,” he said, nodding to Aizawa, Mario, and Luigi. “What happened with the barrier? It wasn’t just press.” The Bros looked at each other briefly. Aizawa’s face didn’t flinch, but his scarf rustled ever so slightly. “Be careful,” Mic added, eyes hidden behind his glasses but voice firm. The way he spoke today them one thing: Be on guard.

Up ahead, Iida was already hard at work, arms slicing through the air like semaphore signals as he herded Class 1-A toward the waiting bus.

“Single file, please! Remain orderly! You are future heroes, not stampeding wildebeests!”

His voice echoed down the hallway like a traffic director in a typhoon. Kaminari and Sero were halfway through a joke when Iida redirected them with a sharp pivot and a lecture. Even Bakugo, who rolled his eyes dramatically, didn’t argue for once.

There was still a bounce in the students’ steps. A crackle of energy. But underneath it all, something else simmered a quiet, collective awareness that today might not be normal.

At the back of the line, Mario and Luigi lingered nearby.

Their usual lighthearted expressions Mario’s confident grin and Luigi’s sheepish smile were absent.

Mario's brow was furrowed, his gloved fingers flexing as he adjusted his white gloves with practiced precision. His eyes weren’t on the students.

They were scanning the area.

Luigi fidgeted in place as he looked around. Not in fear, but in quiet readiness.

They didn’t speak. They didn’t need to. The signs were there: The media breach, the barrier damage, Mic being on edge.

They’d both seen this before: back home in the Mushroom Kingdom, when a calm day suddenly twisted sideways. When quiet wasn’t peace, it was the moment before the thunderclap.

Someone was probing the defenses.

And if the enemy decided to strike today.

“We won’t let it happen. Not on our watch,” Mario murmured, voice low and hard as granite.

Luigi gave a nod, silent but resolute. He adjusted his hat like a warning. The brothers stepped forward, finally catching up with the students, but this time, not just as teachers. They were guardians and this was the calm before the storm.

The bus ride to the USJ facility buzzed with chatter, laughter, and excitement. The students of Class 1-A were alive with excitement, leaning over seats to chat and debating what the day might bring, but in the very back row, the Mario Bros sat quietly, alert and tense.

Luigi leaned in close, his voice a low whisper. “Mario, I saw someone running out of the school earlier. Real shady type. Hoodie, fast. He didn’t look like a student or staff member.” His brow furrowed. “And I think he’s the one who set off the alarm this morning.”

Mario, still staring out the window, gave a slow nod. “You sure?”

“Positive. My gut’s-a never wrong,” Luigi whispered. “And you know what happens when I get that feeling.”

Mario’s hand went to the brim of his cap, pulling it down with a steely look. “Something bad’s-a coming.”

They both glanced toward the students, still laughing about the upcoming exercise.

Mario and Luigi discuss what the latter saw earlier, which basically confirms to both of them that something is going to happen today. They then overhear the students.

Class 1-A was abuzz with chatter, trading snacks, debating power matchups, and roasting each other with the kind of comfort only found in real camaraderie. In the middle of it all, Tsuyu turned her head toward Izuku. “Midoriya, your Quirk is kind of like All Might’s, ribbit.” This comment caused Izuku to bluster as everyone raised a few eyebrows.

Kirishima tilted his head. “Not really. All Might’s power doesn’t spark green electricity like that.”

“Yeah, and Midoriya’s kind of got his own vibe,” Kaminari added, nodding. “All Might’s like BANG!, while Midoriya’s more ZAP-KABOOM!”

Izuku chuckled softly. “It’s just how my body channels the energy. I’m still getting used to it.”

From the back of the bus, Mario and Luigi exchanged a glance. They’d both seen and fought against Izuku back at the Battle Trial and All Might when they were being tested.

Tsuyu was right. The sparks, the raw power, and the explosive mobility. They were undeniably similar.

Luigi leaned in and muttered, “Mario, you thinking what I’m thinking?”

Mario gave a small nod, arms folded, eyes narrowed. “I’ve-a seen that power up close. That’s no coincidence.”

“We ask All Might about it later?” Luigi whispered.

Mario’s eyes shifted toward the front of the bus, where the students continued to laugh and tease. “Later,” he said. “First, we deal with whatever trouble's-a waiting for us.”

Back with the students, Kirishima gave a small shrug. “Still wish I had something flashier. You know something people notice. Like Bakugo’s explosions or Todoroki’s ice-fire combo. Those Quirks scream pro hero.”

Izuku looked surprised. “But your Quirk is awesome! You’re nearly invincible when it’s active. That kind of durability could save lives. Plus, you held your own when you fought Mario as an elephant.”

Kirishima smiled but waved it off. “Yeah, yeah, I appreciate it, but let’s be honest, flashiness gets attention. Me? I’m more like the unbreakable wall behind the spotlight.”

Tsuyu croaked again. “Bakugo’s Quirk is flashy, but he’s too angry to be popular.”

“WHAT?!” Bakugo snapped, spinning around in his seat with a scowl.

“She’s not wrong,” Kaminari added casually. “You’ve got top-tier firepower, dude. But your PR skills are crap.”

“YOU WANNA GO, DUNCE-FACE?!”

“And there it is,” Kaminari said, smirking.

Laughter erupted throughout the bus. Bakugo just slumped back into his seat, muttering about extras and violence.

Izuku sat quietly, watching the scene unfold. In middle school, Bakugo had been the untouchable one, the loudest, the strongest, and the one everyone walked on eggshells around. Now, the class teased him like any other hot-headed friend. And he hadn’t blown anything up yet. Funny how the tables turn. Izuku gave a quiet, knowing smile. This was different, and honestly, he felt better.

The bus rolled to a stop in front of a massive domed structure, its outer walls gleaming under the midday sun like a high-tech fortress. As the students filed off, their chatter turned to murmurs of awe.

A familiar figure in an astronaut-like suit stood waiting as the class disembarked.

“Welcome, everyone!” Thirteen called cheerfully, her voice warm despite the mechanical filter.

Several students blinked at the massive structure’s interior. “Wait! Is this a theme park?” Kaminari muttered.

“Looks like one,” Sero added. “Like, this could be the entrance to a killer rollercoaster.”

Luigi stepped up beside him, wide-eyed as he took in the sprawling dome. The glass ceiling shimmered, and the disaster zones stretched out like set pieces from a galactic game board.

“Whoa, it looks just like the Star Carnival,” he whispered.

Mario nodded approvingly. “Yeah, this place is-a gorgeous.”

Thirteen chuckled at the comments but turned to wave toward the Bros. “Mario! Luigi! It's good to see you again.”

Mario gave a wide grin and a short wave.

“Thirteen! It’s-a been too long!”

Thirteen smiled. “We tried to make it as immersive as possible. Each section simulates a different emergency: fires, floods, earthquakes, you name it.”

The students leaned over the railings, awestruck. They could see blazing infernos, capsized ships, collapsed buildings, and even a controlled tornado spinning in the distance.

“Wow,” Mina gasped. “This place would look epic for a fight scene to break out!”

Bakugo cracked his knuckles. “Tch, looks like fun.”

Iida straightened his glasses. “This will be an ideal environment for tactical rescue simulation.”

Mario and Luigi exchanged a glance. Something about the air felt off…it was too still.

Thirteen stepped forward, folding her hands. Her tone shifted, still gentle, but more solemn. “This facility is officially known as the Unforeseen Simulation Joint or U.S.J. for short,” she began. “Built to help young heroes experience disaster scenarios in a controlled environment.”

The class quieted.

“You’ve all trained hard to fight villains, to defend yourselves. But remember this: a hero’s true duty isn’t to defeat evil, it’s to save lives.”

Mario and Luigi both nodded. “Well said,” Luigi murmured, hands behind his back. “Rescue work is a whole different game,” Mario added. “You don’t always punch the problem away.”

Thirteen gestured behind her. “Today, you won’t face villains or sparring partners. You’ll face simulated disasters, the kind that can’t be beaten, only endured. Work together, think smart, and most of all,” She raised a single gloved finger. “Your Quirks are not just weapons, they’re tools for rescue and hope.”

The class stood in awed silence.

Then the lights flickered.

The air changed.

A low rumble echoed from the center of the plaza. “Is this part of the simulation?” Kaminari asked, voice cracking.

“No,” Thirteen said flatly.

Suddenly, a swirling black portal spiraled open on the central plaza platform, crackling with violet energy. Figures emerged, each one more monstrous or menacing than the last. A hulking brute with a birdlike mask, a man covered in hands, and thugs in all different shapes and sizes pouring out from the portal.

A figure floated forward, his form cloaked in living mist wearing a suit with a glowing slit of light where his face should be. “I apologize for the intrusion,” he said politely. “But we’ve come to kill All Might and anyone else who stands in our way.”

The class froze.

“Villains!” Iida gasped.

Aizawa immediately stepped forward, scarf snapping around his shoulders. “Thirteen! Protect the students!” Mario’s expression dropped from curious to serious. Luigi stiffened, already reaching for his hammer with a hardened expression.

Thirteen spread her arms. “Everyone, stay calm! Form defensive groups and get back, NOW!” But it was too late. The villains had already begun to move.

Meanwhile, across the plaza, the villain, who was covered in disembodied hands with one hand covering his face like a grotesque mask, twitched in agitation as he observed the class from a distance. He turned toward the mist villain with a raspy scoff. “All Might’s not here,” His voice dripped with disappointment. “That schedule we got said he was supposed to be teaching this class. So what gives?”

The mist villain looked at him. “I believe it may be outdated, Master Shigaraki?”

Shigaraki sneered as he stared at the students with cold, hateful eyes. “Whatever, if we can’t kill All Might, maybe we will break his spirit by murdering his precious students.”

Aizawa’s eyes narrowed. He’d seen enough. “We’ve been infiltrated.” He whipped his scarf free. “Thirteen, get the students out!” With that, he jumped into the plaza.

With a sharp movement, Mario reached behind his back and pulled out his hammer. “Everyone, stay back!” he barked. “Luigi, go protect the kids!”

Luigi’s eyes widened. “M-Mario?! What about you?!”

Mario’s expression hardened. “I’ve got this. Just keep them safe no matter what.”

Luigi gripped his own hammer tighter, heart pounding. “Right, you can count on me, bro.”

Without a moment of hesitation, Mario jumped forward with a mighty leap.

A cluster of villains broke from the group, a firing squad of quirk-wielding thugs, each raising their hands or weapons toward the oncoming pro hero.

Aizawa’s eyes flared red. In an instant, their Quirks sputtered out. "You're out," he muttered, scarf already whipping forward.

Before the stunned villains could react, Eraserhead blurred into motion, striking with clinical precision. One by one, he used his capture weapon to ensnare wrists, ankles, and necks, flipping them over and slamming them unconscious in smooth, practiced motions.

"That’s Eraserhead!" one of the remaining villains gasped, backing up. “He erases Quirks with eye contact! Don’t let him look at you!”

A hulking mutant-type villain snarled and lunged forward, his skin rippling like wet concrete, his mouth filled with jagged teeth.

“HEY!” came a voice from the flank.

The mutant turned just in time to catch Mario’s hammer to the face. The hit landed with a meaty SMASH!, sending the brute flying across the plaza and crashing into a pile of debris.

Mario stood tall, red hammer over his shoulder, a confident smirk on his face.

“Tag, you’re it.” The surrounding thugs froze.

“Who the hell is this guy?”

“Some new intern?”

“He looks like a mascot-”

Mario launched into the air.

BOUNCE!

His heel slammed down on one villain’s head.

BOUNCE!

He ricocheted to the next, stomping him flat.

BOUNCE!

One more thud, and the third went down like a sack of bricks.

All three collapsed unconscious from the blows to the head. Mario landed in a crouch, hammer slung casually over his shoulder. “New guy, huh?” he said with a smirk. “You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.”

Aizawa stepped up beside him, eyes still glowing. “Don't get cocky.”

Shigaraki growled as he watched from atop the rubble pile, clawed fingers scratching at his neck. Another thug went flying, launched by a red blur wielding a hammer.

“What the hell?! Who is that?! They’re not supposed to be here! This is my game!” he snapped.

The mist villain turned to him. “That one is… an unknown. He is not in our records, nor is the green-clad figure near the entrance.”

Shigaraki snarled. “Then add them to the kill list!”

Two more villains lunged for Aizawa, but the pro hero vaulted over their heads, his scarf whistling through the air. In one fluid motion, he yanked a thug off balance and drove a boot into his skull. The second froze as Aizawa’s eyes glowed red, only to be whipped off his feet, scarf snapping around his neck before being slammed into the concrete with a dull thud.

Meanwhile, at the plaza entrance, Izuku stood frozen, eyes wide as he watched Aizawa and Mario tear through the enemy with ruthless efficiency.

"I… I thought he was just a tired underground hero." Izuku murmured.

Tenya grabbed his shoulder. “Midoriya, move, we must evacuate now!” The students quickly regrouped with Thirteen and Luigi, who was doing his best to keep calm despite the chaos around them.

“Okay, okay! Evac route’s straight through the door, don't look back, just follow Thirteen!” Luigi said, voice just slightly pitched higher than usual.

But then a swirling black mist bloomed into shape, forming a floating, humanoid figure with a metallic void at its core."Pardon me," the voice said, elegant and eerie. “But I cannot allow you to leave.” The mist thickened, and the students backed away instinctively. Kurogiri bowed slightly in mid-air. “I am Kurogiri, a servant of the League of Villains. Our objective is simple: we are here to kill All Might, the Symbol of Peace.”

Most of the students froze in place at the declaration. “The Symbol of Peace?!” Izuku’s heart dropped.

Without hesitation, Bakugo charged forward. “Then you should’ve brought a damn army!”

Kirishima followed. “We’ve got this!” followed behind as his skin hardened.

But their attacks passed straight through the mist. Kurogiri's body dispersed and reformed, unfazed. “Ignorant children,” he muttered.

Thirteen stepped up, preparing to use her Quirk. “Get back. I’ll-”

Too late.

The mist surged outward like a wave. Portals of Kurogiri’s engulfed the class, sucking them in and scattering them across the zones of the USJ like toy pieces. Izuku vanished into the shadows, Bakugo and Kirishima were sucked as well, Tsuyu and Mineta warped away with the latter screaming his head off.

Luigi stumbled back, eyes darting as students vanished around him.

“Where’d they all go!?” He clutched his head, breathing quick and shallow, panic starting to bubble up.

“Luigi, focus!” Thirteen shouted, steady but firm. “We’ve still got students to protect!”

At the entrance, only a handful remained:

Ochako, Iida, Shoji, Mina, Sato, and Sero, huddled together with Luigi and Thirteen, staring in horror at the now-empty plaza.

Thirteen planted her feet, glove outstretched. "Everyone stays behind me!”

Her gloves at her fingertips opened with a soft hiss, and a swirling miniature black hole began to pull in Kurogiri, ready to erase him atom by atom.

But Kurogiri responded with uncanny speed. The mist surged forward, warping space mid-attack, and the back of her hero suit was torn to shreds. Thirteen gasped before falling forward.

“THIRTEEN!” several students screamed. Luigi froze. She wasn’t moving.

Kurogiri floated toward the exit corridor. “I cannot allow you to send for help.”

Iida braced himself. “I have to go. I have to warn the school!”

He bolted for the exit, but Kurogiri materialized directly in his path, his mist expanding outward like tendrils of smoke and shadow. "No one’s leaving."

Shoji lunged without hesitation, six strong arms wrapping around Kurogiri’s core. “Go!” he shouted to Iida. “I’ve got him!”

Luigi snapped back to his senses. He saw Thirteen hurt, Shoji struggling, and Iida still in danger.

His eyes locked with Mina’s.

“Feed her this,” Luigi said, reaching into his pouch and pulling out a shimmering Ultra Mushroom, its cap glowing faintly with power.

“What is this?!” Mina asked, catching it carefully.

“It’s-a healing item, and it'll work. Just trust me.” Mina nodded and darted to Thirteen’s side. Luigi looked at Shoji. His hands were trembling, but his feet stood firm. “Shoji,” he said, voice low but solid, “let him go and back off. I’ve got this.”

Shoji hesitated—then uncoiled his arms and leapt back.

Kurogiri turned toward Luigi. “And what do you think you’re-”

The green plumber jumped forward with his hand stretched out and grabbed Kurogiri’s metal collar. “THUNDER!”

CRACK!

Electricity burst from Luigi’s glove, arcing through Kurogiri’s body like a green bolt of fury. “GRAHHHHHHHHH!!!” screamed the mist villain, the mist curled and sparked from his convulsing body.

Then, without warning, both of them vanished into a crackle of black mist and lightning.

“Luigi!” Ochako cried out, reaching for him, but it was too late.

A crackle of green lightning and black mist, then he and Kurogiri vanished. Only Ochako, Iida, Sero, Mina, Sato, and Shoji remained, and Thirteen was down.

Mina knelt beside the Rescue Hero, gently holding her up while pressing the Ultra Mushroom to her lips. “C’mon, please work.”

Ochako looked around; no Mario, no Luigi, no Aizawa. They were alone. The others stared at her, confused, scared, waiting for someone to say something. And suddenly, she realized that someone had to be her.

Ochako stood. Her hands were shaking, but her voice rang out strong. “We can’t stay here.”

Sero blinked. “What do you mean?”

“Thirteen’s hurt, and the others are out there.”

She turned to Mina. “Did the mushroom work?”

Mina nodded. “I think so. She’s stable, but she’s not getting up anytime soon.”

Sato frowned. “But what if villains show up?”

Ochako met his eyes, calm and fierce. “Then we don’t panic. We don’t fight to win, we fight to protect. That's what heroes do.”

Shoji gave a quiet nod. Sero stepped forward. “Well, I didn’t come all the way to U.A. to sit still. You’ve got my tape.”

Mina stood straight up. “Let’s show ‘em how we roll, Ochako.”

Ochako smiled. She wasn’t sure if she was ready for this, but someone had to be, and for now, she was the one left standing. “Alright then,” she said, steadying herself. “Sato, Shoji, go pry open the door for Iida to escape. Sero, you help me and Mina move Thirteen!"

“Roger!” exclaimed all the students as they got to work.

Around USJ, highlights of the other students.

Highlights of the other students fighting off the villains in the zones they were teleported to.

Flood Zone

The villains surrounded the boat where Izuku, Tsuyu, and Mineta were on ready to attack them. The villains attack the boat and at the last minute Izuku and Tsuyu jump  from the boat as the thugs crash onto the deck. Izuku channeled One for All evenly throughout his body and flicked his finger, creating a blast of wind that destroyed the boat resulting in whirlpool. Mineta, who was on Tsuyu’s back, threw as many of his sticky balls at the villains that were caught in the vortex which resulted in them sticking to each other before going under. The trio fell into the water safely and swam to shore towards the center of USJ Plaza.

Mountain Zone

Momo and Jirou are taking out the hired goons with a bo-staff and taser baton in hand, respectively. Kaminari meanwhile was being chased by a few thugs.

Configuration Zone

Ojiro demonstrates his martial art skills as he strikes one thug with an open palm strike while another thug gets batted away by his tail.

Collapsed Zone

Bakugo and Kirishima have taken out a good number of thugs with the former giving a bloodthirsty grin while the latter cracks his knuckles.

Downpour Zone

Koda has a few rats and birds swarm the villains as a distraction while Tokoyami takes them out using Dark Shadow and throws them at the other incoming villains

Landslide Zone

Villains were encased in ice by Shoto who stands by strictly with his right half being covered in ice. One thug tries to sneak attack him but is knocked out by Tooru, who hits her over the head with a rock.

Manor Zone

WHOOOSH!

The air folded in on itself. Luigi felt his stomach lurch as shadows yanked him sideways, pressure crushing his chest until...

THUD!

He slammed onto warped floorboards.

Luigi slowly stood and looked around the area. It resembled a ruined mansion with tilted halls that reeked of damp wood and rust. A chandelier swung lazily above, its chains groaning as if stirred by unseen hands. “Mama mia, of course I get sent to a creepy place again,” Luigi muttered, brushing himself off.

A low growl echoed from the shadows. “That stung,” the voice rumbled, echoing from everywhere at once. “But if my master demands a sacrifice tonight… I will not allow this battlefield to close without one.”

Luigi’s knees knocked together, his breath caught in his throat. But he pulled his cap down tighter, forcing his hands to steady. “Let’s-a go.”

Kurogiri struck first. His mist slithered low across the warped floor, coiling like a snake, snapping shut to ensnare the green plumber. As it was about to snap shut, Luigi jumped high, grabbing a fractured beam above. He swung off it mid-air and landed atop a collapsed staircase, gaining higher ground. “You think verticality will save you?” He opened portals on both sides, his misty claws reaching for him.

Luigi stomped on a loose board, sending it spinning into one portal. A split-second later it shot from the other, smacking Kurogiri across the back with a CRACK!

In retaliation, the mist villain opened a portal underneath Luigi and made sure it threw him violently out the other side of the next portal back on ground level. “Oof!” Luigi hit the floor, rolling fast. Kurogiri emerged briefly, preparing to strike again, but Luigi flipped upright and hurled his hammer, forcing the villain to vanish in a puff of mist. Luigi took cover behind a collapsed armoire. He was breathing heavily. “C’mon, Luigi, you’ve-a faced scarier foes,” Closing his eyes, he listened carefully to the area around him. Kurogiri was doing tactics he's familiar with thanks to his experience at the Evershade Valley.

A sudden roar of mist burst through the walls. Kurogiri reformed inches from him. Luigi's eyes snapped open and he moved first, grabbing Kurogiri’s metal collar. His hands trembled, but he forced them steady. “I’m not-a running this time.” His grip tightened. “Thunder!”

CRACK!!

The collar sparked violently, mist tearing open in jagged slits around the room. Wind howled as the floor buckled beneath them.

Luigi barely had time to gasp before the world folded in on itself, green lightning clashing with black fog as they were both ripped into the void.

BOOM!!

In a flash of green lightning and mist, both vanished.

USJ Plaza

Shigaraki scratched his neck furiously as he saw the mooks he hired were nothing but cannon fodder. “Figures they were useless, well looks like I'm better off getting the EXP myself.” He then turned to the large bird-like monster beside him. The creature was ripped with muscles and its exposed brain gave it a menacing appearance. “Nomu, you deal with the mascot, Eraserhead is mine.”

The Nomu roared and charged at Mario while Shigaraki leapt down toward Aizawa.

Aizawa lashed out his scarf, which Shigaraki dodged and touched the underground hero's right elbow. The cloth started to rot away as he was now touching his bare skin. “You sure are cool, Eraserhead, but I know what your limit is.” Stated Shigaraki, as Aizawa's arm started to slowly decay. “Your hair floats when you use your Quirk and your eyes flashed red but with each use it dries out your eyes. And from the looks of it, your eyes are bloodshot which is why you haven't used your quirk on me yet.”

Aizawa, gritting his teeth, elbowed Shigaraki across the face with his good arm and backed away to get some distance from the villain.

Mario smirked and tried to stomp on the creature's head but Nomu grabbed Mario and threw him straight into the ceiling of USJ with a loud thud.

“One pest out of the way," Shigaraki gave a cruel smile as he narrowed in on Aizawa. “Nomu, kill Eraserhead.” He barked at the monster.

With a roar, Nomu charged at the Underground hero and grabbed him by the throat. It proceeded to repeatedly slam Aizawa into the ground brutally.

Elsewhere in USJ - Another clash was brewing

In the jagged terrain of the Mountain Zone, Jirou and Momo stood motionless, hands raised.

Across from them, Tesla, a tall, lean villain with a skull-like mask, has Kaminari in a chokehold. Earlier Kaminari used up all his electricity to electrocute the villains of the area while Momo made an insulated blanket to protect herself and Jirou from the attack. The villain hid himself underground and struck when they had their guard down.

“You two had better stand very still,” Tesla warned, voice vibrating with electric undertones. “I like this one, shock types are rare these days. But don’t think I won’t fry him to ash if you twitch wrong.” To make his point, he let out a few sparks near Kaminari who flinched.

Momo’s mind raced. ‘An electric-based villain who shrugged off Kaminari’s Quirk, and we can’t get a signal out.’ Her eyes widened slightly. “He’s the one jamming our comms,” she whispered.

Jirou slowly shifted her stance. One of her earphone jacks began sliding down her leg toward the gear socket in her support boots.

“Is that what this is, then?” she asked casually, her voice steady despite the tension. “Are you kidnapping kids now, or are you just lonely up here in the mountains?”

Tesla narrowed his eyes as he glanced down at her boots. “Cute.” He gripped Kaminari tighter, making him yelp. “Try to plug into anything again, and you’ll be holding what’s left of your boyfriend in a shoebox.”

Jirou winced. Momo’s lips pressed into a thin line. They had no options.

Tesla grinned. “That’s more like it. Don’t worry, I’ll be gentle.”

Then a portal ripped open behind him.

WHOOOMPH!

A burst of green lightning and black mist exploded out from the swirling void with Luigi and Kurogiri flying out of it like a sack of bricks, crackling with residual electric energy, before colliding face-first into Tesla. All three went tumbling, with Luigi skidding face-first at Momo’s boots while Kurogiri and Tesla were a tangled mess.

“Okay. Not my most graceful landing,” he muttered, slowly getting up.

He looked up to Momo and Jirou, giving him a puzzled look as they had their hands down. Luigi cracked his neck, saw Tesla unconscious on the ground, and pointed casually. “Is this-a guy bothering you?”

“Yes he was, Luigi-sensei,” answered Momo while Kurogiri teleported himself away, leaving Tesla alone with the green plumber and the heroes in training.

“And there goes the portal creep,” commented Jirou, as she jogged toward Kaminari to pick him and slung his arm over her shoulder while Momo quickly made some handcuffs and slapped them on the electric thug.

“Alright, I want you three to head towards the entrance,” stated Luigi as he looked over where the central plaza is. “I'm going to go help out my bro.” With a mighty leap, Luigi jumped off the ground to the cliff before jumping out of the Mountain Zone.

Back at the USJ Plaza

As the brutal onslaught was happening, Kurogiri landed on the ground with a thud after falling out of the portal. Shigaraki gave his personal servant a raised eyebrow. “You look like you fought a thunderstorm and lost.”

“Master…” groaned Kurogiri, weakly getting up. “The plumbers are stronger than they look, and one of the students escaped to get help.”

Shigaraki clicked his tongue in annoyance before eyeing Izuku, Tsuyu, and Mineta, who were currently fixated on their teacher's brutal beating. “Fine. Since All Might isn't here, then let's make good on my promise.”

The hand-covered Villain dashed toward the stunned students swiftly and was grinning sadistically as his hand inches closer to Tsuyu's face. “Bye bye, little froggy,” he muttered. Izuku and Mineta were frozen in fear, both feeling helpless as the act was happening so quickly before either of them can react.

Just as he was about to touch her, Mario stomped on his back from high above, smashing him against the floor. The blowback was strong enough to send Tsuyu, Izuku, and Mineta back into the water and far away from the deranged creep.

Mario quickly went to work by grabbing Shigaraki by his ankles and pivoting before spinning him around. With each rotation, the spin grew faster and faster, creating a miniature cyclone. Ten seconds later, the red plumber released the mastermind, sending on a one-way flight ticket to the center of the USJ Plaza.

“Wow,” muttered Izuku, seeing the amazing throw. He quickly shook his head and went to check up on Tsuyu, who resurfaced from the water. “Tsuyu, are you alright?”

“Shaken, ribbit… but I’ll live.” She replied, looking at where the villain was thrown.

Luigi landed right next to Mario after having made a series of jumps from Mountain Zone. "Mario, those guys really overstayed their welcome.”

"They did, Weegee, they did." Mario replied back. Glancing at Izuku, Mineta, and Tsuyu. "Are you all alright?”

“Yeah, we're good.” replied Mineta.

Mario took out an Ultra Mushroom and tossed it to Izuku. “Give this to Aizawa while we handle this, capisce?” Izuku nodded as he, Tsuyu, and Mineta waited for an opening the brothers are providing for them.

Mario then turned to Luigi and with a nod, they both took out their hammers and leapt forward towards the downed murderous villain.

As Shigaraki's prone form came into view, Mario and Luigi jumped once more, hoisting their hammers high above their heads. Each of them picked a target, then smashed their hammers down on Shigaraki's right and left hands, respectively. The villain let out a blood-curdling scream and heaved with all his strength, getting Mario and Luigi off him momentarily. Unfortunately for Shigaraki, his scream was cut off almost immediately when both brothers smashed their hammers into his face, sending him soaring across the plaza again but was caught by Kurogiri, who opened a portal for him to go through and land in the water fountain.

The trio were caught off guard by how quickly the bros handled the dangerous villain. "They're so fast,’ thought Izuku. ‘I barely had time to figure out what they were going to do before they even moved

“Nomu, kill those fucking plumbers!” screamed Shigaraki as he was teleported away with Kurogiri. “Nomu isn’t just strong—it was built to kill All Might. It's a punching bag that punches back with Shock Absorption and Regeneration! Let’s see how you handle that, plumbers!” With his final piece said, the pair were gone.

The Nomu screeched as it let go of Aizawa, charging at the Bros in a mad dash on its master's orders.

Seeing an opening the flood trio quickly went to Aizawa, feeding him the mushroom, before carefully lifting him up and carrying him away from the battlefield.

Mario and Luigi glanced at each other as the behemoth bullrushed them and smirked.

“Let's-a go.”

“Okie-dokie.”
