"So, after that, Mrs. Shin got super mad even though it was not my fucking fault but that damn guy one grade below us who thought he could disrespect me and steal my stuff like that," Jaemin told loudly, Donghyuck not really knowing how to to react to the other boy's 'wild' stories.
They were both walking down the street together. It was Friday, a bit past 12 pm, the beginning of am exciting summer night smelling of breaking rules and having fun. Street lamps were the only sources of light besides the moon shining brightly at the dark sky and dull laughter could be heard from where people were enjoying the mild night.
The two boys were on their way home from a hangout at their friend's house. Both had known each other for about one and a half year now, as they shared one mutual friend, Hwang Renjun, who was Jaemin's childhood friend of years and had become one of Donghyuck's best friends since the two boys had been classmates last school year.
Although they knew each other, that didn't mean they knew each other well. Yeah, they had more than once spoken casually with each other and got along pretty nicely as they had similar characteristics but their conversations had never went to a deeper level, always stayed slightly formal.
Now, their relationship had kinda turned this evening. Renjun had hosted a meetup with all of his friends, inviting them over to gossip and share the fancy snacks his dad had brought home from his business trip to China. And at some point, the group had decided to start a round of truth and dare, as getting together with same age people was the best condition for that game.
It had been played with the standard dares and questions to reveal spicy secrets, the friends enjoying the relaxed and thrilling atmosphere. Then, Jaemin had been dared to kiss the person next to him, who had turned out to be none other than Donghyuck. He hadn't known why Renjun had chosen him for Jaemin to kiss, but he shrugged, not impressed by the task either way. Donghyuck had seemed to feel the same, just calmly leaning back with no disgust or any nervousness visible in his face, and waiting for Jaemin to start.
What the guy hadn't expected as he had went in for the kiss though was that Donghyuck would dominate the kiss only after a few seconds, skillfully playing with his lips, sucking at them and that way catching Jaemin off guard, also making him feel all jittery in the best way.
There was nothing more to say than that Jaemin had been stunned after that. Yes, it actually had taken him a few seconds to process the amazing kiss he had experienced. While at the same time, the other boy had sat here unfazed, watching the others complete their challenges or spill some tea with more and less embarrassment.
Somehow though, the over-cocky Jaemin had actually found a liking in kissing Donghyuck, smirking when he remembered that the other had been so engaged in the kiss. Never had he thought that he would be so eager to kiss him.
Right now, the two boys were on their way home after the meetup had been ended with Renjun claiming he wanted to sleep. Surprisingly, and Jaemin wondered how he had never gotten to know about this before, they both lived in the same neighborhood, meaning they could go home together which they were currently doing.
So, Jaemin was telling Donghyuck some 'funny' anecdotes, which honestly bored the older though he was too polite to show it. He also still liked the other, just that their sense of humor was not the same. Plus, the younger boy constantly used weird expressions that irritated Donghyuck because they seemed out of the vocabulary of a 12-year-old. Like who the fuck still uses "lol" when speaking? But Donghyuck refused to say anything about it, because his parents had not taught him to be rude and he had been able bare with it yet.
Luckily, at some point, Jaemin seemed to loose interest in telling his strange stories and the two continued their stroll in peace. The silence was surprisingly not uncomfortable and they both peacefully walked next to each other, Donghyuck lost in his own thoughts pretty quickly. Those were interrupted when suddenly Jaemin began speaking to him again.
"Do you already feel like going home?," he asked, stopping in his tracks which automatically made Donghyuck stand still too.
"Not really," he retorted, as the night seemed as if something could still be bound to happen and he loved being out at fresher temperatures like this in the summer as they were unbearably hot during the day.
"What is it that you have planned?," the older boy then added with a grin because it was obvious Jaemin wanted to propose something to do. At that, the other one just laughed, pointing at the other side of the street.
"What about going to the park? We could do start gazing or some stuff...," he said.
"Okay, fine with me," Donghyuck replied neutrally, already crossing the street randomly, not needing to use a crosswalk as no cars were out at that hour.
"Didn't know you were into romantic things like that," he meant jokingly when he sensed that Jaemin was following him. Again the other boy chuckled as a reaction.
"If that is what you think...also, I didn't tell you what other stuff would be," he answered with a smile, which was probably meant to indicate something though that went unnoticed by Donghyuck.
After a while, they arrived at the entrance gate of the park, which was...locked.
"Great idea of yours," Donghyuck remarked sarcastically as he stood there glancing into the park. When he turned to look at Jaemin to catch his reaction to this unfortunate situation, he saw the other climbing over the fence which restricted people from breaking in at such times. Just that it obviously didn't fulfill its use, Jaemin being the best example for that.
Amazed, Donghyuck watched how the taller guy was gracefully climbing the fence, smoothly pulling his legs over it and jumping down on the other side, then looking up from where he had landed on the grass floor, eyeing the other boy with a fat smile.
"The fuck are you doing!?," Donghyuck let out as he comprehended what had just happened.
"Is it that hard to see?," Jaemin cheekily stated, still at the other side of the gate, inside the park, seeming super chill.
"You...oh my god," Donghyuck mumbled incoherently, speechless by the other boy's behavior.
"Why did you break in at this part of the fence? Did you not notice the street lamp directly next to us? Plus it's directly next to the entrance...This is basically the most exposed part of the park! Besides the fact you're actually trespassing! ," Donghyuck exclaimed, in disbelief staring at the other.
"YOLO," Jaemin yelled, making Donghyuck feel as if he was starting to develop a headache at the other's behavior. Jaemin could be so attractive at times, so why did he always mess it up by acting like a child?
"Could you please stop stealing the expressions of a 6th-grader?," he questioned slightly irritated by the whole thing going on at the moment.
"Isn't that part of my charm?," Jaemin replied ironically with a smile on his face.
"Hell no," Donghyuck refused, getting even more annoyed.
"Now, may I ask you to come over? Climbing this is not hard," the younger boy suggested impatiently, expectance in his voice.
For a moment, Donghyuck hesitated but remembered that he had nothing better to do anyway and that even though the guy in front of him was spitting some gibberish every now and then, he actually was fine and an acceptable companion for the rest of this night. Carefully, he approached the fence and with no less elegance than Jaemin before, managed to climb the fence and get behind it successfully.
"You sure you haven't done this yet?," the younger teased, though he shook his head in awe.
"Okay, where are we heading?," Donghyuck wanted to know, ignoring the comment, a bit embarrassed by the intense look of amazement the other boy was eyeing him with.
Jaemin shrugged at that.
"Let's just go ahead," he then said and started moving.
"If we get caught, I'm fully blaming you," Donghyuck announced as they were stepping side by side, the dim light of some lamps in the park around them creating mysterious vibes. He only received a small laugh in response.
After some time of mindlessly following the path, taking in the sound their feet were making on the floor, in this deserted area sounding louder than normal, they spotted a bench.
"Sit down?," Jaemin questioned while pointing at it, slowing down his pace.
"Sure," Donghyuck spoke, he didn't really care.
With a groan, Jaemin let himself fall down onto the bench, Donghyuck placing himself besides him and leaning back.
"The stars look beautiful," the younger boy remarked, making Donghyuck gaze up to the sky.
"I don't see any," he murmured in return.
"Here," Jaemin said, reaching out to gently grab Donghyuck's face with his cold fingers and turning it around so that they were opposite each other. Donghyuck felt a shudder running over his back at that. Not one of a bad kind.
"The stars in your eyes look beautiful," the younger meant, directly gazing into Donghyuck's eyes, who couldn't help but blush a bit.
"Wow...that was smooth, I have to admit," he said out loud, laughing a bit to ease his nervousness. Jaemin just grinned at that, though his hand remained next to Donghyuck's face.
"You know what else is smooth? This," he then added, slowly tracing his thumb over Donghyuck's lower lip.
"I don't know if that was cringe or hot," Donghyuck just replied with an impressively calm laugh, though Jaemin did look stunning in his view.
"I don't know either," Jaemin laughed too, retreating his hand. For a moment, thick silence overtook them.
"Uhm, I feel embarrassed about asking this..but can I kiss you?," he a few seconds later asked.
"My kiss during the truth or dare game was that good, hmm?," Donghyuck mocked him, cockily looking at Jaemin, not wanting to give in so easily.
"I mean, it was you who kissed me so passionately, who took the lead," Jaemin fought back not less confidently.
"Is that so?," Donghyuck mumbled and brought his face nearer to Jaemin's one, the younger sucking in a breath tensely at that .
"Yes," he continued.
"It was you who," he went on but was shut up by Donghyuck pressing his pinkish lips onto his own ones.
The touch felt oddly satisfying, like it did during the hangout, a tingling feeling spreading over Jaemin's whole body while the older boy again took the lead, bruising the other's lips in the best way. At some point, their tongues were also part of the mess, only contributing to the intoxicating sensation and making Jaemin crave the other boy's presence even more although they were practically glued to each other.
"Damn," he let out breathlessly after they stopped to both catch their breaths and cool down a bit, the older fixing his strands.
Donghyuck looked so fine and attractive with this messy attire too, it was crazy.
"I was so shocked, I didn't expect you to just...You sly fox," Jaemin then said.
"Sly fox? Did you find this wording in a child's book?," Donghyuck answered with a mildly disgusted expression on his face.
"I'm telling you, if you continue to talk like this, I'll choke you," he added.
"What if that was a kink of mine?," Jaemin spoke back with this annoying, fat grin back on his face.
"You're unbelievable," Donghyuck answered and pulled Jaemin so that their faces were close again.
"Let me kiss you so your mind can't possibly comprehend those weird thoughts any more," he meant with an amused smirk and leaned in.
Yes, to Donghyuck, Jaemin was weird and annoying but also funny and cute.
Oh, and did his lips taste good.
Maybe, just maybe, the two boys actually did have to thank Renjun for having made this dare the evening.
Because the feeling if the other's lips, combined with the taste of the night air, was a combination they would not be able to get enough of in a while.
