Chapter Text
“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Fazbear Entertainment would like you to put your hands together for the one and only, Freddy Fazbear!”
The intercom blasted into Montgomery Gator’s ear, as the speaker was on the wall directly left of him. Monty flinched slightly at the sudden noise but quickly recovered himself. He looked back at the passage behind him, still walking forward. The hallway was dark, although lit up by the neon strip lights.
“You feeling okay Monty?” Freddy Fazbear noticed Monty glancing back.
Monty snapped his head back around to glare at the bear animatronic, “Huh- wha- of course, I’m fine Fazbear.”
Freddy turned back to the front and Monty took his position next to Roxanne Wolf and Freddy, getting himself ready for the performance. He held his bass guitar close to his body, making sure he wasn’t shaking.
If he was being honest, Monty was always nervous for performances. He would never admit it to any of his bandmates, he was supposed to be tough.
Monty looked over to his fellow performers; Chica Chicken, Roxanne Wolf and Freddy Fazbear. Chica tuned her guitar, Freddy checked his microphone was on and Roxy flipped her keytar.
Although subtle, Monty saw Freddy and Roxy exchange a nod before walking again.
The group stepped onto a platform and it started to raise them up.
Monty quickly adjusted his star shaped sunglasses before looking over at Freddy, who looked at him as well.
As the platform rose, Monty glanced up. He was honestly pretty excited for this performance as it was one of the bigger ones that happen each month.
Suddenly, the platform stopped and the band arrived in the atrium, flashing neon lights everywhere. The stage was giant, with rising platforms on each side. The audience was huge, with people going as far back as the ticket booth at the back of the giant room.
80’s rock music filled the atrium, as the band started to play. Monty gave Freddy a shoulder nudge and Freddy smiled back.
Monty was so happy he could finally play his guitar for someone who really cared. It’s not the same as when he is stuck practising in his room. These people were all here to see him. Him.
Suddenly, the platform that Monty and Roxy were standing on started to rise. Monty smiled and continued to shred his bass. This was his favourite part. Being up where everyone can see you. Knowing you’re taller and higher than all the others. Monty jumped from foot to foot as the screens on the side introduced him to all the people new to the Pizzaplex.
Roxy slammed a foot down as the screens did the same, causing Chica to play her guitar harder for hers. Freddy then threw his microphone into his other hand and, with the free one, made a fist into the air.
The platforms then, to Monty’s dismay, started to lower again. Leaving Monty and Roxy at the same level as the others again. Monty looked over to Freddy and noticed he was just standing on the spot, staring into the audience. All of a sudden, his eye twitched and his whole body moved, as though he flinched. He started glitching and Chica looked at him worrily. Freddy then collapsed on the stage, leading to Chica rushing over to check on him. Everyone in the audience started screaming and filming the event that just occurred. Monty stared in shock when the intercom said, “We apologise for the inconvenience. Please make your way to the front entrance and you will be asked to leave the premises as Freddy and the Gang need to rest up.”
It’s done.
Freddy Fazbear just ruined the biggest show of the month.
Two staff members climbed on stage and started to lead the other three animatronics back to their green rooms, while three staff members rushed over to attend to Freddy. The gator saw Vanessa run over to Freddy and fiddle with something on his back. Monty huffed and looked at the ground, annoyed with the ruined performance. As the remaining group walked off, Monty noticed the security guard, Vanessa, patting Roxy and Chica on the back. He thought he saw her slip something into their card hatch on their back but he couldn’t be sure. She walked up to Monty and placed her hand on his back. He growled at her, causing her to move it off. He felt her insert something in his card hatch but thought it was just the song card that she was taking, something every animatronic gets before the shows.
“Oh- Uh, just came to congratulate you on the performance” she glanced over at Freddy, who was still on the ground.
Monty snorted, “Some concert that was. Stupid Fazbutt ruined tha whole show.”
For some reason she laughed and then turned and walked away. Monty shook his head and then followed the staff back to his green room.

As soon as the sliding door to Monty’s green room closed behind him, he threw his bass to the ground and screamed. He picked up the nearest object and threw it, causing it to smash. Tears rolled down his snout and he roared. For what felt like forever, Monty was just picking things up and throwing them, even causing a dent in the wall.
“Stupid Fazbear,” Monty said out of breath.
A beeping sounded and Monty sighed. Low power. He walked to a room at the back of the green room and stomped towards the charging station located at the back. It was in the spare storage and parts room, only really used for quick maintenance checks before shows. Monty entered the station and closed his eyes, still angry from the recent outburst. He fixed his glasses one last time before plugging the charging cable into the back of his head.
