   Summary

   Aged twenty-one, burnt-out and disillusioned, former child prodigy and pianist extraordinaire Osamu Dazai suddenly abandons his prestigious New York debut to the shock of the classical music world. A would-be Carnegie Hall premiere of his new concert program is cast aside in favour of a one-way plane ticket for a destination nearly eleven thousand kilometres away, all in search of an escape for his turbulent mind and the overbearing pressure presented by music.

   But instead of an out, he finds himself face-to-face with the enigmatic musical phenomenon that is Chuuya Nakahara, a violinist with a pull so magnetic that Dazai is unable to escape his orbit. His music is unlike anything Dazai's ever heard, electrifying in ways he previously thought impossible.

   So begins a tale of two musicians, woven together and pulled apart by the threads of fate.
