Chapter Text
Through her schooling their roommate had always been there for her and they proposed they’d live together. After living with a freeloading roommate, she decides that this wasn’t the life she wanted. Even though she had a two nice paying jobs she knew this wasn’t what she went to college for. She knew she had been a bit of a push over but honestly it was getting draining.
Frylock, a good friend of hers since they were teens, always kept his door open to her and she appreciated it so much, she didn’t mind the thought of living with him one bit, he was the closest friend she’s ever had. She looked over at her roommate who was snoring on the couch. She sighed softly as she looked over to her desk, a small picture, of her, Shake, Frylock, and Meatwad, one that she had kept forever. She always felt better when thinking about them..well mostly Frylock and Meatwad they were always friendly they always made up for Shakes perverse comments.
She hummed as she stood up from her now old bed before grabbing the bag she had packed and leaving. As she walked to the Metro station she felt all the weight lifted from her shoulders. She smiled to herself as she walked into the Metro train before pulling out her phone, dialing the familiar numbers and watching it ring. Once someone answered she clear her throat.
“Hello?..Fry? Shake?” She questioned unsure of who had the phone as the train began to move.
“oh shit.” She heard a muffled voice on the other end. “Hey there babe, why are you calling this nerds phone and not mine?” A recognizable tone spoke as she chuckled.
“Hey there Shake, I just wanted to let Frylock know I’ll be there soon.” She says as she takes a seat, the metro seemed so empty at the late hour.
“Hoho! You’re coming over! Great can’t wait!” Shake said sounding surprisingly genuine and definitely happy. She held back a louder laugh just before hearing some shouting from what sounded like Frylock looking for Shake. Her face turned into one of confusion but before she could even ask what was happening Shake hung up. She shook her head as she put her phone away and watched the city from the window.
Once she arrived she got a taxi and road it to their house. She got out and thanked the driver before paying and grabbing her things. She then remembered their neighbor Carl. He was interested in her to say the least. Her eyes then widened a little as she saw him in his lawn.
“Hey there sweetheart, haven’t seen your beautiful body, I mean, face in a while..” He said poorly correcting himself. “Um good evening..been a while..” She says averting her eyes from him, she saw him start to head back in his home after realizing his advances weren’t working on her.
Once she didn’t see him anymore she was alright. She was a bit anxious but knocked on their custom shaped door anyway. She smiled as she saw that Frylock had answered it. She immediately gave him a warm and gentle hug. He let out a small ‘oof’ before hugging her back. He was just like she remembered, a faint but calm smell of freshly washed clothes, his dreadlocks tied back in a ponytail making his face more visible. “I’m happy to see you too. Shakes been bothering me about you this whole time..” Frylock says before chuckling and smiling.
That smile he wore fit him like a glove. A perfect smile with a well groomed goatee grown in. What she would give to run her hands over it. She let go of him and spoke. “Didn’t expect anything else, gosh I never realized how much I needed to see you all again.” She said without hesitation before she let go of him and hugged Meatwad who was standing behind him.
“Aw I’m so glad too!” Meatwad said in his usually unique and innocent voice. “You guys..I really appreciate you letting me stay..” She said as she stood up straight up again. Frylock’s eyes watched her intently and they seemed to soften. “No worries, I know you’re responsible to pay rent.” Getting called responsible by him felt like a breath of fresh air. “Thanks..really..” She said as she noticed Frylock had already grabbed her bags for her.
She smiled before walking in and closing the door. She looks around the home discreetly, noticing that it’s a little unorganized. It made sense since they all had different personalities and opinions, some..better than others.
After she settled in, she started putting away her clothes neatly. She decided to shower since the whole day had frazzled her. She took out the soaps, shampoos, and other items to clean up. She then grabbed her favorite and only towel..before heading over to the bathroom. On the way there she sees Shake dozing off on the sofa.
His head perks up after hearing you laugh a little at the sight. “huh?..Oh..HEY!” He said surprisingly quickly and happily. You decide to talk with him a bit. “hey, so how have you all been?..” She asked genuinely curious. Shakes shrugs with his usual smirking expression. “We’ve been alright but What about you? Frylock told me what happened earlier tonight.” She holds back a sigh. “It was a rough ending but I think it will be good for both of us. I mean I was tired of having to work two jobs just to keep the apartment, but they did so much for me during college..I felt a bit guilty.” She said as she turned her face away from him.
“I think I know something to make you feel better!” He nodded unsure of how to comfort her so he got up and went to their kitchen where he made her favorite drink. He brought it back with a less cocky smile and more of a sentimental one. She smiled seeing what he was doing, she thanks him as she drank it, her mood instantly improving while doing so.
After that she got up and washed the glass the beverage was in and went back down the hall to the bathroom. She grabbed her stuff from her room again and hopped into the shower. She felt instantly relaxed as the slightly warm water poured down onto her. She realized how long it had w she didn’t have to worry about her multiple jobs. Having a simple yet busy job was good for her, and making enough money of course. She got lost in thought as she realized how long she had been in there. She finished up and got out completely clean and fresh, she let out a relieved breath as she smiled slightly at herself in the mirror. She got dressed in her usual night clothes and dried her hair.
She decided to see if Frylock was busy. She walked down the hall and knock gently on his door. Although she anxiously awaited his answer she couldn’t help but feel excited as well. She heard some shuffling before a small yawn came from behind the door. Then he opened it with a slightly sleepy smile.
“Hey, come in.” He said gesturing her inside. She smiled a bit wider as she entered his room.
