Summary
Suguru climbs through his living room window to head to the fire escape. It’s a warm night, so he figures he would take his beer, cigarettes, a lantern, and radio up on the roof and relax while gazing at the stars. As he lights his cigarette, he sees a silhouette in the shadows on the roof. Startled, Suguru turns to face the figure. He stands and stares into the darkness. “Who goes there?” From the shadows, a man walks out. Tall and lean, wearing a maroon suit and black trenchcoat. The man has white hair and electrifying blue eyes, almost an unnatural color. “Sorry if I startled you,” the stranger says, “but I was up here for some fresh air and saw you.”
Office worker Geto Suguru meets his new neighbor, the mysterious Gojo Satoru, and immediately sparks fly. Satoru sweeps him off his feet with lavish dates and sweet words, and the dark-haired man gladly follows him deeper into the dark underside of Tokyo. However, as more secrets are revealed about his neighbor, Suguru starts to question his own humanity.
