Work Text:
7 months.
It had been 7 months since Clorinde had left Fontaine to join the Knights of Favonius.
Apparently, Clorinde had been writing to Furina, Wriothesley, and Neuvillette. Navia on the other hand never gotten a letter from her. Furina had told her one time when they were both having tea together.
“Mon Amour?” She heard a voice coming from downstairs. “I’m home!”
Navia hasn’t gotten used to that yet. She was only used to Clorinde coming home. Sometimes, she even wishes it was Clorinde instead of her husband honestly.
”Ah, there you are,” Navia looks up to see him. She didn’t even hear him coming up the stairs. “You have a letter from someone by the way,” Navia feels his arms start to wrap around her waist.
His touch was both gentle and loving, but it wasn’t like Clorinde’s. He didn’t have her scent, her touch, her atmosphere.
“Who’s the letter from?”
He remained silent after a minute or two. “I think it’s from that girl Clorinde?”
Navia felt her heart drop as soon as he mentioned her name.
”I-I’ll go check it out then.” She says, managing to escape from his touch.

To my dear Navia,
The sunrise peaks through my blinds as I write this. Do you remember when I took you to that cliff to watch that beautiful sunset? It reminds me of that. Everything reminds me of you. The sunrise and sunset are just as beautiful as your smile.
The winds here remind me of the time when we were teenagers the winds were so strong it almost blew your hat away.
I miss you, Navia. I know you don’t belong to me anymore but I just wanted to let you know that I still love you.
I hope your husband gives you all the love and things you deserve in the world. I hope he’ll take care of you just as much as I did.
In another life we both loved each other until our hair had both turned gray, and raised kids.
Maybe in another universe, but not this one. You deserve all the happiness in the world that I know I can never give you. You said that you can never forgive me for murdering your father.
Although I have no regrets in my life, I do have one.
My biggest and only regret is that I wasn’t the one to marry you.
With love,
Clorinde.

“Ma Chérie?” Navia looks up, immediately wiping her tears away with her sleeve. “What’s wrong? Did the letter say something rude?”
”No, it’s nothing.”
“You sure? I’m here if you need anything.”
“I’m fine. I’ll be going to bed early though. Good night.”
