I do not tell lies, though I may withhold the truth. Death has no need for deception.
I have watched her since birth, the princess of Piltover. The archer with a gaze as sharp as her arrows, the noble girl trapped in a golden cage of duty and expectation. I have seen her ride through the fields, longing for freedom. I have seen her eyes dull in court and sharpen only when a challenge presents itself.
And then, I saw them brighten for something—or rather, someone—entirely new. A squire with a sharp tongue and sharper fists, a girl from the Undercity with the name of a flower and the heart of a soldier.
The princess and the squire. Piltover and Zaun. A story doomed from the start, yet here I am, telling it anyway.
After all, even I cannot look away.
