Work Text:
As the group moved through the forest outside of Stah, Zantis’s thoughts wandered to Cyan. He should have focused on the battles ahead, but it has been quiet.
His companions are very capable warriors.
So….
He can be slightly laid back in this situation…just a little. Elise will just give a look to tell him to pick up the slack.
His first impression of Cyan was….
Well…he wasn't too impressed.
Okay, he didn't know what to think or believe. In his head, he built up this image of a creepy guy in red.
From the writings he read and drawings he saw, he knew that the God Warriors don't look like that but still…
Cyan wasn't it.
Cyan was….
Cyan was nice.
Almost a goody two shoes.
Not a bad thing at all! He was a knight for crying out loud. His whole job description was to protect the innocent and fight injustice!
But Cyan…wasn’t a knight. He was always willing to help others when the others asked.
He always had a kind smile on his face even with all the crap put on his shoulders.
Although, he can tell sometimes that it wore him down.
Of course, that is what he and Elise were here for to help with the burden.
But….
Cyan wasn’t very chaotic at all.
In fact, if he judged by their item bag. He would say that he was more of a warrior of order.
The looks that cyan gave him when he put something out place…well…
He could almost hear Cyan’s words in his head.
“A good scavenger always has their supplies in place. It is a matter of life or death.”
He knew scavengers have it rough. He and the gang have been through enough cold mountain trails and wet forest paths to know it.
Don't forget that damn desert.
By the gods, he still has sand in his boots.
Okay…So, Cyan might have a point.
But back to the point at hand….
Cyan isn't a God warrior of chaos material.
“You are staring at Cyan like a creep. You need to stop before they notice,” Rai said inside of his head.
“I am not staring…okay maybe a little. Just thinking that Cyan isn't very much the warrior of chaos that I learned about,” He answered back.
Rai paused for a moment.
“Your books said anyone could be chosen. Gods don't make sense….I mean…look at you.”
“Hey!”
Rai sounded so happy when he said that comment.
“But…I think that it doesn't matter. Cyan is Cyan. It doesn't matter which one he is. He is our friend!”
“Right…Right but I wonder…”
Rai huffed inside of his head.
“Order is all Sameness, right? We sort of flip Cyan's life over and he kind of goes with the flow. Isn't chaos all about change? Every person that we have encountered, even people on the other side ... Maybe that lady and her goons but they believe that Cyan is different. If that isn't change, I don't know what is.”
He tossed Rai’s words inside his head.
“For once…you have a point.”
“Hey!”
He smirked.
Order.
Chaos.
It doesn't matter.
Cyan was chosen for a reason. He chose to follow him for that unknown reason.
If that wasn't chaotic, he didn't know what it was.
End.
