The thought, the mere thought, of Kate marrying some lord was abhorrent. He did not consider himself prone to dramatics, but it was safe to say that the idea of Kate turning her fiery gaze towards another man made his blood boil.

   Damn Daphne. Why must she dismantle every carefully made decision he had constructed this season? Why could she not let him remain blissfully ignorant, as he had been only this morning. Now, all he wanted was to redo the entire season.
