Work Text:
Kara had a problem. She was eternally grateful for her cousin for having gone through the effort to rescue her from the Phantom Zone, unfortunately as she had feared when she was trapped in there, they had not escaped alone from that Rao forsaken place.
Sure the one possessing Lois had been taken care of but Clark had just contacted her about the possibility of there being another sighting of Zoner activity that had been picked up via a Queen Industries satellite that Chloe had programed to detect these sorts of phenomenona.
Unfortunately for her, both Clark and Chloe were tied up in things that they could not get out of so it fell on to Kara to do the legwork on this mission to locate the straggler Zoner and then contact Clark with the location so both of them could go and take care of the escapee, with Detective Jones meeting them along the way. None of them were taking this lightly, with Clark still dealing with the aftermath of Bizarro and his actions at home and Kara having experienced first hand what the Zoners were capable of in the months she was trapped in the Phantom Zone.
"Jimmy Olsen, Jimmy Olsen," Kara muttered to herself as she stepped off the elevator into the Daily Planet bull pen. She stopped a passing by employee of the building to enquire, "Hi!" she said politely, immediately gaining the attention she was used to garnering from most of the male population of this planet. "I was wondering if you could direct me to a Jimmy Olsen? I'm supposed to deliver a package from Chloe Sullivan." She smiled disarmingly at him hoping, like usual that he would respond to her smile like most men did. He did not disappoint.
"Uh... oh.... hmmmm...oh... Jimmy?!" he asked flustered and looked around the bull pen frantically before pointing out the young photographer to the gorgeous women who had deigned to find him worthy enough to bestow upon him that smile.
Kara perked up and her eyes shined in thanks at the bumbling fool before striding down the bull pen towards her target.
Jimmy Olsen. This was the man who had broken things off with Chloe recently, if she wasn't mistaken. Ever since returning to Earth her and Chloe had been slowly growing closer as friends so initially she had been unwilling to work with the man who had broken Chloe's heart but Chloe herself had said that everything that went wrong with Jimmy and her relationship was entirely her fault and Jimmy did the right thing by breaking things off.
Kara was skeptical but was willing to give this Jimmy a chance, even though she was still a little unclear about what went wrong between the redhead and the little blonde.
Spotting the man she had been pointed out to who was seated in a secluded corner of the bull pen surrounded by computers and shooting equipment.
He was completely absorbed in what he was doing, a set of headphones on his ears blocking out any noise of her approach.
She was forced to tap on his shoulder twice before he looked around and Kara almost gasped at the most arresting green eyes she had seen since waking up on this earth, which was a about six months ago truth be told, but still.
Jimmy for his part was equally stunned. What gorgeous angel had decided to grace him with her presence today of all days? Vaguely he recognised her from somewhere but for the life of him Jimmy could not place her.
"Hi," said the angel. "Kara Kent," she stuck out a hand and Jimmy pushed back his chair so fast to grab said hand that it toppled over causing most of the bull pen to look over at the loud crash. He still grabbed that offered hand though his cheeks shined red as he took her deceptively strong hand in his own wholly inadequate feeling ones.
"H-hi! J-Jimmy... uh... Jimmy O-Olsen," he replied stumbling over his words. "How... hmgh... how can I help you?" What would you like? Jimmy thought to himself, Coffee? Tea? The Eifel Tower? The World? Thankfully his stupid brain remembered to keep those words inside of itself as he waited for her to answer.
She hesitated a beat, smile not faltering as she looked at him. Jimmy tried and failed to not look self conscious hoping against hope that he didn't have ketchup on his shirt from his quick lunch or his glasses eskew or something equally as world endingly embarrassing as that? God he thought he had worked past his teenage crush tendencies during his long relationship with Chloe but apparently this girl, this.. this Kara Kent? Wait Kent? CK?
"Um... Kent?" Jimmy asked vocalising his thoughts. "Y-you wouldn't happen to be related to Clark would you?"
She smiled even wider seemingly happy with the name recognition which should have come way earlier if he was capable of acting not like a complete doofus in front of this literal sex on two legs woman!
Swallowing all of that, he waited for her to speak.
"Umm, yes!" she exclaimed and Jimmy's eyes widened at the way she blurred out her words, could he be making her nervous...? As soon as that thought came into his head he wanted to smack himself? Him make her nervous? That was the most ludicrous thought he had had to date. He wouldn't be surprised if he made her cringe but Nervous? don't kid yourself Olsen, Jimmy self chastised shaking his head.
"I'm Kara, his cousin from Minnesota?" he heard her utter ignoring any and all stumbling over her words as just some possible speech impediment or more like his own hearing malfunctioning as he refused to believe such a goddess would have any sort of impediment! Speech related or otherwise. "Uh... Chloe or Clark would come themselves but they're a little tied up at the moment," she said and Jimmy had to really concentrate to understand her words because her moving lips were distracting as hell. "T-they asked if you could enhance these pictures for them? They..." She tucked some of her loose locks behind her ear as she held out a flash drive to him for some reason her eyes were looking anywhere but at him. Jimmy disregarded that. "They told me where and what to enhance so I can show you...?" she ended with an open question as she finally met his eyes and he had to be imagining the red tinge to her cheeks. Probably make up, possibly, has to be, no matter if the red wasn't there for the last five minutes they had been talking.
Jimmy snatched the drive from her and turned around willing to do anything other than just stare at the absolute beauty in front of him, he also gratefully straightened his chair and sat down, extremely thankful for his choice of baggy jeans today. The quicker he got this favor done, the quicker she would leave and he could get a handle on himself. He was an adult! Why was he suddenly acting like puberty had hit him yesterday?
If it was someone else Jimmy would enquire about the whereabouts of his ex and her constant handsome companion but he didn't really want to know what Chloe and Clark did these days anyways now that Chloe was no longer attached to him... And he needed her to go as quickly as she could before he embarrassed himself any further, he plugged the drive into his computer and booted it up.
Immediately he was assaulted with satellite pictures that he couldn't make heads or tails of. All of a sudden a glorious scent assaulted his senses as Kara put a hand on his armrest and leaned down to come eye level to his screen. Jimmy barely kept in a squeak, trying subtly and not obviously to avoid his shoulder brushing her considerable chest which she seemed to be unaware, was in serious danger of contacting him. He swallowed as she reached out and pointed at a section of what appeared to be abandoned buildings.
"Could you zoom in here, please Jimmy?" she asked turning to smile at him again and Jimmy let out a pitiful groan as he avoided eye contact and did as asked. She was too close. Too close!
"A little more?" she asked again and Jimmy was barely aware of what was on the screen, he just quickly did as she asked. "Could you make this more clear? Chloe said you could." He did, too close. "Thanks! Now the next one..." And he did everything she asked almost on autopilot just as quickly as he could, zoom, enhance, clear up, crop, whatever... just as long she got what she wanted and left.
Finally all the pictures were done and he printed them out, telling her she could collect them from the copy room.
"Thanks so much for your help Jimmy!" Kara said finally her smile radiant as she offered her hand to him again. Jimmy shook it numbly, wishing she would leave and never go at the same time. She once again tucked a loose lock behind her ear and her eyes wandered around again. "It was nice meeting you Jimmy." She said finally and Jimmy nodded.
"Y-you too!" he replied cursing his dry throat, his nerves completely shot.
"I'll see you around," she said and turned to finally leave, glancing behind at him once maybe twice as she went to the copy room to collect her photos.
"Damn Olsen!" Came an annoyingly familiar voice from behind him as Robards made himself known. "Didn't know you had it in you? First Sullivan now her? How did you manage to score that?!"
Jimmy scoffed as he turned to the conceited sports journalist keeping one eye on Kara who came out of the copy room, held up the photos in her hand, showing it to him with a gloriously happy smile as she turned around to go.
"Score? With her? She was doing a favor for her cousin Clark Kent, all strictly business. Women like that don't go for guys like me." Jimmy stated matter of factly, well used to this reality. "I got lucky with Chloe for the few years I had with her. The chances of me ever seeing that girl again?" he pointed to the blonde getting into the elevator, for some reason his wistful mind thinking that she was looking directly at him. "... are slim to none," he declared as the doors finally closed on Kara's gorgeous face and he breathed out both a sigh of relief and disappointment.
Kara pondered over what she heard with her super hearing as she exited the basement with her photos, riding the elevator up.
Women like that don't go for guys like me.
The chances of me ever seeing that girl again are slim to none.
As she exited the Daily Planet Kara realised that she had left the drive with the pictures behind. She could just turn around and go back, she should but she hesitated before walking out. Well Mr Olsen, a woman like myself? she thought to herself with a small smirk Will be seeing you again real soon, you can count on that, her smirk turned into a smile as she entered an empty alley and took to the skies.
Jimmy Olsen had her intrigued and she wanted to know him a hell of a lot more than she wanted to know about any other single human being she had encountered uptil now.
Kara Kent was frustrated, there were no two ways about it. She was also confused because she thought she was pretty attractive. She got more attention from males and even some females than she ever really wanted, but for some reason one Jimmy Olsen didn't seem receptive to her.
She had thought his stuttering and stammering throughout their first meeting had been an indication that he was attracted to her but when she went back the next day to collect the drive that she had conveniently 'forgotten' with him he handed her the flash drive and sent her away. She had tried to engage in conversation but he seemed to not want to look at her, he was flustered and she was sure that was a sign of attraction and she was sure she was giving all signs of being receptive to said attraction but Jimmy seemed to be unaware of her advances.
A lesser woman would have taken offence but she was no mere woman.
The next day she came into the bull pen with another flash drive loaded with pictures. The Zoner had already been taken care of, these were just pictures she had gotten of the glorious Internet that her cousin had introduced to her a while back.
She had told Jimmy that she wanted help with these as well and Jimmy had obliged. She had again leaned into him like she did the first time she came to him and pointed out what she wanted out of those images. He dutifully did what she asked and she listen to his heart rate increase and his blood pound through his veins at their closeness. She figured it also helped that she was dressed in a very fetching short skirt and top combo that bared a lot of her flat midriff and displayed her cleavage prominently.
She had definitely caught his eyes wandering there and the down her body more than once during their encounter but when she decided to go for broke and ask him if he wanted to grab a coffee or lunch he declined and said he had eaten.
Once again a lesser woman would take offence but she decided to double down and for the last five days she had been in and out of the bull pen in various attires and excuses trying to get the attention of one Jimmy Olsen. And she got it. She knew male appreciation when she saw it, but nothing moved beyond that. He rebuffed all her advances, even took one of her more direct approaches as a joke.
Feeling like she could vaporise the entirety of Crater Lake with the frustration that was building behind her eyes she looked after Jimmy as he ran out of the bullpen as if the hounds of hell were chasing him.
She scowled at the sympathetic looks the rest of the bullpen were giving him. She was pretty sure the entire building knew by now what her intentions were with the young photographer, except said photographer was being either intentionally obtuse or unintentionally clueless.
She groaned out her frustration as she said heavily down on Jimmy's vacated chair, absently noting how comfortable it was.
"Kara?" came a soft inquiring voice from her left and she looked up to see Chloe walk in. "Where's Jimmy?" she asked looking around for the elusive photographer. Well elusive to her at least.
Kara shrugged dejectedly. "He left," she replied stating up at the ceiling letting her x-ray vision roam free until she saw way more than she wanted from a couple inside of a supply closet on the fourth floor.
"Left?" Chloe asked confused. "Left to go where? And why are you here? Sitting in his chair...?" Chloe seemed reluctant to hear Kara's answer but her curious nature made her ask the question anyways.
"Chloe am I unattractive?" asked Kara petulantly.
Chloe's eyes widened at the ridiculous question. "What? Kara what are you asking?" she sputtered out. "You're a literal goddess and I don't need to tell you that, weren't you the one who decided to enter a beauty pageant three weeks into your stay on earth? And didn't you win?"
Kara nodded still dejected. "Then why isn't Jimmy interested in me?" she asked finally getting up from Jimmy's chair and facing the smaller blonde actual tears of frustration slipping from those azure eyes before she resolutely wiped them away. "You dated him right? What did you say to get him to say yes?"
Chloe had too many emotions running through her but looking at Kara, Kara this dejected over Jimmy she approached the taller woman and led her down to a more private area behind the bull pen where she knew there were some comfortable sofas to sit and relax at. Taking a seat next to Kara, Chloe looked at the Kryptonian. Talk about competition, she had no chance. But she squashed that thought. She had no chance because she had squandered what she had with Jimmy because she put her friendship with Clark over her relationship with Jimmy and paid the price for it.
She had no right to Jimmy and if someone as good and kind and wonderful as Kara wanted to be with Jimmy then she would only try to encourage it, seeing Jimmy move on might help with her moving on as well.
"Tell me," said Chloe and sat back and listen as Kara divulged.
Through out the whole story what she mostly got was that Jimmy seemed gun-shy. Perhaps because of their breakup and maybe because Jimmy knew that Kara and Chloe were friends that Jimmy didn't want to start something with Kara despite the blonde Kryptonian sending every single signal possible except perhaps a smoke signal to the photographer about her intentions.
It was only when Kara told her what she overheard on her first day asking Jimmy for help that she finally understood.
Women like that don't go for guys like me.
The chances of me ever seeing that girl again are slim to none.
Jimmy wasn't gun-shy. He was oblivious and clearly there was some self-esteem issues going on here with him. Chloe teared up at the thought that maybe she was responsible for at least part of those issues but there was nothing for it. Jimmy was right to break things off between them when he did, but the fact that he was so certain that Kara would never look at him twice made her more than a little angry. Jimmy Olsen had been the best thing that had happened to her and she hadn't appreciated him. Chloe knew that Jimmy and Kara could be great together and she would be damned if she let his past relationships hold him back.
"Kara, I want you to go home today, okay. Go back to the farm and I'll talk to Jimmy. I'll set him straight and you come back tomorrow and ask him out for coffee again. I'll make sure he says yes this time."
Kara shook her head. "If he doesn't want to..."
Chloe put a hand on the younger in body but older in age blondes arm. "Kara, there's no one in this world who wouldn't want you. Jimmy's not the exception. I'll talk to him and I will call you after okay?"
Kara nodded, "Okay." She leaped forward to hug Chloe in thanks before leaving the bullpen.
Chloe sighed. She couldn't believe that she was now sitting here waiting for her ex boyfriend to come so that she could set him up with her new closest girlfriend that wasn't her cousin, but she already lived in a fucked up world of aliens and superheroes so this was just par for the course for her. No matter how much it would hurt her inside.
Jimmy took almost an hour to come back and Chloe noticed him look around cautiously near his office area before finally taking a seat and booting up his computer.
"Hi Jimmy," said Chloe smirking slightly at making him jump.
"Chloe!" Jimmy jumped up and approached her pulling her in for a close hug. Chloe melted into him for a moment before pulling back. She wasn't lying to Kara when she said Jimmy was the best thing that happened to her.
She was just grateful that after their fallout their friendship still remained intact. In fact, these days it seemed that with Clark focusing so much more on Lois and his job, Jimmy and her friendship might be the strongest relationshp she had.
But she was not foolish enough to ever think there was a chance of something more. Her calling was always going to take precedence over any relationship and Jimmy deserved better than someone who was forced to lie him constantly and not make him a priority. Of course with Kara there was a secret to behold but Chloe had a feeling that Kara wasn't as attached to keeping her secret as much as Clark was. Clark was raised with the Kents, Jonathan especially telling him that he would be taken away or he would bring harm to his loved ones if his secret was out, and while that might hold true, keeping that kind of secret from someone you loved and wanted to love you was doing them a disservice as Chloe found out the hard way.
"Hey Jimmy. What are you doing?" she asked nonchalantly.
Jimmy shrugged. "Just work." he replied. "Why?"
"Well according to Kara, you're trying to give her the slip."
Jimmy set down and wiped a hand down his face at mention of the Kryptonian blonde. "Kara?" he asked. "I don't know what is up with her," he ranted. "I don't know her from Adam one day and then the next, suddenly she's here every day acting like she likes me and wants to go out for coffee and she wears these sexy little numbers that does strange things to me and I keep expecting Ashton Kutcher to jump out with a camera if I say yes and yell out You Got Punk'd!! and then the next thing I know, I'm a laughing stock."
Chloe pulled an empty chair closer to her and sat down next to him. "Jimmy, is it really that hard to believe that Kara might actually like you?"
Jimmy stared at her for a moment and she saw him try to imagine it and and then reject the notion out of hand. "That doesn't happen to me, Chlo. That's a main character story. I'm a side character, I don't get storylines like that."
Chloe's brow furrowed at the self defeating statement. "What are you even talking about?" she asked with a soft laugh that she didn't really have any emotion in it. Main Character? Side Character?
"You know Chlo. In a story the plots about hot girls falling for nerdy guys or nerdy guys being superheroes in disguise and stuff like that, only happens to main characters."
Chloe shook her head. "Jimmy, life isn't a movie or a storybook, Kara really likes you and wants to take you out. You won't give her a chance to see if something special might happen."
Jimmy shook his head sadly. "Chloe, have you seen her? You think she's destined to be with a no name photographer from the Daily Planet? She's probably going to be a supermodel or a movie star, I don't see a future there."
Chloe rolled her eyes. "Jimmy no one is asking you to propose to her, why are you immediately jumping to the endpoint and rejecting a possible relationship out of hand. This isn't the Jimmy I used to know. Where's the Jimmy that was spontaneous and curious. The one who took me to make out point, the one who drove naked from Metropolis to Smallville just to have surprise sex with me. Did I really hurt you that much that I put out that fire, Jimmy?" She asked that last question softly feeling the tears fall.
"Don't cry Chlo, I hate seeing you cry."
"Why are you punishing yourself?" she asked imploringly trying to catch his eye as he avoided hers.
"I had to understand a lot about things when I broke it off with you Chlo. It was the only way I could deal with things for a while. I had to come to terms with the fact that 'meant to be' isn't really a thing for everyone. See Han and Leia are meant to be, Jack and Rose are meant to be, Lois and Clark are meant to be even if they don't realise it right now, when I had to deal with the fact that Chloe and Jimmy weren't meant to be, I had to deal with the fact that I wasn't the main character of my story."
Chloe wiped her eyes cheeks and frowned at him. "There you go with this main character crap again. What are you talking about Jimmy?"
"I'm saying that I'm not a main character Chlo. CK? Lois? You? Kara? Hell even Lex. you're all main characters in this story, I'm just a side character and side characters usually only get one arc that's over within a season and my arc is over, Chlo. It was over when we broke up. I'm sorry, tell Kara if she needs any more help with tech stuff, she can check with the fourth floor."
And with that Jimmy turned back to his computer and started working.
Chloe stared at him for a minute before becoming resolute. She turned and walked out of the bull pen snatching up her phone and speed dialing number one.
"Clark?" she said into her phone. "I need your help."
At the end of his shift Jimmy packed up his back slung it over his shoulder and walked out of the bull pen. As he was leaving Clark joined him his own bag shouldered as well. Jimmy was surprised looking back and seeing Lois at her desk looking after them.
"Hey CK, I'm surprised you're leaving early."
Clark smiled at him. "Actually Jimmy I was hoping to catch up with you over some drinks. You want to maybe swing by the Ace of Clubs on the way home?"
Jimmy scrutinised his friend as they entered the elevator and the door slowly closed over the view of the almost empty bull pen with Lois still watching them leave.
Clark didn't drink and he would never leave Lois alone in the bull pen after their hours were up.
"Chloe put you up to this didn't she?" he asked certain of his assessment of the situation.
Clark ever the terrible liar just shrugged. "Yes," he admitted. "But that doesn't mean I don't want to do this or talk to you," he elaborated. "Jimmy I've never had any close male friends after Pete left, the closest I've had was Lex, so you can imagine what that was like. Chloe told me that I needed to be a friend to you and I realised that I haven't really been a good friend to you even though we agreed to be."
Jimmt cut him off. "Clark, we don't have to do this," he insisted as they left the elevator and walked out of the building unconsciously walking towards the club anyways. "You don't drink anyways, and I'm perfectly fine."
"Chloe told me you said something about Main Characters and Side Characters?"
Jimmy rolled his eyes. "It's an allegory, I'm talking about the fact that some of us are destined for greatness and some of us are always going to be...mediocre." Jimmy put his hands in his pocket and stared resolutely forwards as they walked.
"Mediocre?" asked Clark in surprise. "You think you're mediocre? Why?"
Jimmy rolled his eyes "Come on Clark," he answered, slightly bitter. "You know why."
Clark shook his head as he glanced at Jimmy. They had already walked past the club. "I honestly don't, because truth is most of the time I've known you, I wished that I could have your life."
Jimmy stumbled at that. "What?!"
Clark smirked at him. "It's true, especially when you were with Chloe. Not that I wanted to be with Chloe," he hastened to add. "But your relationship? It was the only good example of a loving relationship that I got to see and be a part off especially after my dad died."
Jimmy was stunned to say the least. "I didn't know that," he whispered as they kept on walking.
"Back when you two were together and I was pining after Lana I used to imagine that eventually when everything got settled, when Lana left Lex, when she came back from the dead, when she stopped seeking revenge against the Luthors, when I got over the hangups of our physical relationship, when we finally got over having an imposter replace me in our lives. When eventually life stopped fucking us over, I imagined that our relationship would be like yours and Chloe's."
Jimmy was shocked to say the least, half of it was from hearing Clark Kent actually swear. Who would have thought?
"I'm not the main character Jimmy, If what I think you're judging main character status as is, then I don't even qualify," Jimmy rejected that thought outright but Clark continued. "Jimmy you have more sexual experience than me, you have a better romantic history than me. you have a better family life than me, you earn a bigger paycheck than me and I'm sure with the royalties you earn off of your picture you could probably even buy one of these buildings in the city if you want to."
Jimmy smiled at that. "I actually already own one. It's a loft apartment but I'm leasing it to an elderly couple for a few years for some extra income."
"So you also make better financial decisions than me considering the farm is slowly going into debt while I'm out here chasing stories," Clark replied with a smile. "Jimmy if being you means being a side character then I would kill to be a side character, because being a main character fucking sucks."
Jimmy shook his head. "I've never heard you swear and now you drop the F-bomb twice in a conversation."
Clark smirked. "I'm no saint Jimmy, I was raised to be respectful towards ladies and since most of my friends are women I tend to refrain myself from swearing but I'm a guy and sometimes letting loose with a few filthy words about the things that are frustrating me helps me deal. I just usually don't have anyone to share that sort of discourse with." He laughed.
Jimmy laughed internally at the notion of Clark sparing his female friends feelings by not swearing in front of them when Lois was known to drop F - Bombs at the drop of a hat and Chloe was no better.
"You should have heard me and Pete talk sometime, every other word was a swear and of course he would also drop the N word at times which as a thirteen year old kid felt really rebellious being a part of." He grimaced. "That is until my mom caught us one day."
Jimmy's eyes widened. He had met Senator Kent on more than occasion and while she was very nice and motherly, he had been witness to the one time she had been angry at Clark. Suffice it to say seeing a six foot three, two hundred and twenty pound, ex football quarterback be brought to heel by a five foot nothing forty five year old redhead was an experience he would not want to witness again. Lois had chortled about it for weeks.
"Ouch," he said feeling for his friend. "That must have been a day."
"You mean a month. Mom didn't forget and didn't let me forget and of course he told Pete's mom who tanned his hide the minute he got home." Clark smiled reminiscing and suddenly Jimmy was glad that he had not pushed away Clarks attempt at being friendly.
He felt like he got to know his friend better and also realised that he had been an idiot for the past week. He shook his head at himself. He had a fucking goddess throwing herself at him and he had rejected her advances. He wasn't a side character, he was a dumb character!
Clark looked at Jimmy. curiously. "What's wrong?"
"It's Kara," Jimmy said absently, realising too late within friendly male comraderie that he was speaking to Kara's cousin brother. A very big and tall cousin brother who has also been known to be very protective of the people he loves.
"Kara?" asked Clark confused. "What's wrong with Kara?"
Jimmy gulped as they turned onto his street, hoping with his silence Clark might let it go. It was a fools hope.
"Wait she came home crying today and locked herself in her room. I thought it was some female thing that I didn't want to go near with a ten foot pole but... was she crying because of you Jimmy?
"N-now CK wait a minute," he said quickly stumbling back as Clark stepped up to him. "I didn't say or do anything to her. She came to me, she asked me for help and then coffee and I tried to let her down gently..." his heart thudded at the thought of Kara crying. "She was really crying?" he asked, desperately sad that he had made his beautiful angel cry.
Clark held his gaze for a moment before smirking. "No, I was just fucking with you."
Jimmy's eyes widened in shock as Clark started laughing. After a minute he joined in and they let out the stress of the day in joyous laughter and brotherly cheer.
Clark walked him to his door. "Talk to Kara, let her take you out and tell her how you feel. And stop thinking about this main character, side character crap. We write our own destinies."
Jimmy nodded. "You're right, I will," he answered resolute.
Clark walked back down the steps but called out to him as he closed the door to his building.
"Yeah CK?"
"Don't hurt her, you won't like the consequences." Jimmy gulped as he realised that Clark was quite serious with the threat. But Jimmy straightened up.
"As long as you promise the same with Lois, she's like my big sister too you know?"
Clark held his gaze for a moment before smiling. "I promise," he replied and Jimmy responded in kind.
As promised to Chloe, Kara decided one last time to try with Jimmy, she had just gotten ready and was about leave the farm to go fly over to the city when there was a knock at the door.
Kara shrugged and walked over to open the door only to gasp as she spied a cute looking redheaded photographer standing in front of her with a pink rose held out in front of as a peace offering.
Kara smiled in delight as Jimmy Olsen asked her to have coffee and spend the day with him and she happily agreed immediately grabbing him and landing a sweet kiss on his lips leaving him dazed and finally feeling like he was the main character but it was a story that they would write for themselves.
