I blame you for everything

Summary:

Red Alert is miserable when he's sick.

Especially when he caught it from his own partner.

Prompt: Couldn't keep your cold to yourself?

Notes:

It's like 10 pm for me but the Archive runs on UTC time so it should be the 8th when I post this technically.

I'm busy on the actual day, so posting this early.

Work Text:

Jetfire had finally been getting some decent recharge since he recovered from his cold. It had lasted a few days, and Jetfire had already had problems with recharging in the first place.

It was nice that he actually went through the night without having to wake up to throw up, or to cough.

For Red Alert, however…

He woke up with a violent cough, Jetfire having to loosen his embrace to let Red Alert sit up properly, getting the cough out. Jetfire sat up with him, rubbing his back to try to give some comfort.

After an astro cycle, Red’s coughing subsided, leaving him shaking slightly.

“You just couldn’t keep your cold to yourself, Jetfire?” Red Alert deadpanned with static in his voice.

Jetfire shrugged. “Not my fault you insisted on cuddling with me even when I was sick.”

Red Alert leaned against Jetfire, moaning slightly. “You suck…”

Jetfire chuckled. “Love you too, Red.” He pressed a kiss to Red’s helm. “I’ll get you some medgrade energon, okay?”

Red Alert nodded as Jetfire left the bed. He walked over to their energon supply closet, and rummaged for any sort of medgrade energon they had left.

Once Red Alert got better, Jetfire would go out searching again, hoping to find some more energon.

From the bedroom, Jetfire heard the bed shift and saw Red Alert walk out of the bedroom, heading towards the living room.

”Red? Are you okay?”

Turns out, he was not heading right for the living room, but for the front door. Red opened the door, and went straight to the lawn, immediately throwing up. The outside had apparently become the designated ‘throw up space,’ as the washracks in their house hadn’t worked in cycles, and neither one of them wanted their house smelling like puke.

Jetfire immediately rushed outside to Red Alert’s side. He kneeled down, once again bringing his hand to Red’s back.

After a few moments, Red Alert seemed to finish emptying his tanks, and sat down on the cold ground.

“Do you feel okay, Red?”

Red Alert breathed heavily. “As okay as I can feel when I’m sick.” He glared towards Jetfire. “Entirely because of you.”

Jetfire chuckled as he scooped up Red Alert. “Sure. Entirely because of me.”

Red Alert pressed his face into Jetfire’s chassis. “Yes. Entirely your fault.”
