Jason entered through the living room window. It was dark and cold outside, but there was no one in the place and Dick had already taught him how to bypass the security systems in case he wanted to enter unseen.
The 15-year-old entered the room and walked towards his older brother's room
When he entered the room with the security code his brother had given him he heard some sobs
"Jason?" Robin asked, running his hands over his eyes to wipe away the tears that fell from them
"Dick, what happened? Are you hurt?" Jason asked, running towards his older brother and letting the automatic door close
"No, Jason, I'm fine" Dick said with a smile. "What are you doing here?"
Jason looked worriedly at his brother as he frowned in concentration "You don't seem to be okay, what happened?"
Dick looked into his brother's worried eyes and sighed "What are you doing here?"
Jason walked over and sat down with his brother on the floor
"I missed you" he confessed
Dick blinked and looked at his little brother in surprise
The truth is that he hadn't treated Jason particularly well when Bruce brought him to the mansion, he had been one of the reasons why he had formed a superhero group independent of Batman. But Jason was still a child, he was only a year younger than him, but there were times when he did behave like his older brother before storming out of the mansion.
He had been feeling bad for a while about how he had treated his little brother, but he had never done anything to remedy it until now
"Jason" Dick said
"Yes?" Jason asked worriedly
"I'm sorry" Dick said
"What? "Why?" Jason asked bewildered
"I was a very bad brother to you when I was at the mansion and I never visited you when I left. I... I know it wasn't your fault, but seeing Bruce adopt you in less than a week and treat you like a son while I was stuck in the simple fact that I was his sidekick was too much for me and I'm sorry if I hurt you or took out my anger unjustifiably on you in our time together at the mansion" Dick said looking at his brother with sad eyes
Jason looked at Dick with his blue eyes for a few long seconds
"Jason?" Dick asked confused as he noticed how the younger boy hugged him
"Dick, you're my older brother, I'm sorry Bruce was so stupid as to not adopt you before. No matter what fights we got into, we're brothers and I'll always love you" Jason said hugging the older boy tightly
"Thank you Little Wing" Dick said caressing the younger boy's head with a smile
"Now tell me, why were you crying at the beginning? Who do I have to hit?" Jason asked looking at his brother as he continued to hug him
Dick laughed and Jason smiled happy to be able to make his brother smile even if it was for a short period of time
"Just team stuff, don't worry" Dick said looking at the young man
Jason frowned "What happened this time?"
Jason had already heard from other friends of Dick's concerns about the people who made up his new team
"It's nothing Jay, just the usual" Robin said smiling at him so as not to worry him
Jason frowned, but let his brother get away with it and didn't question
"Do you mind if I stay the night?" Jason asked
"Not at all" Dick said with a smile
"It's a sleepover then" Jason said with a smile identical to his brother's
"Sure kid, whatever you want" Dick said ruffling the young man's hair before getting up and heading tired to bed
The two ended up cuddled in bed and feeling closer than in years
The next morning Jason would convince Dick to take him to the mansion and Bruce would finally be able to apologize to his eldest son for how he behaved with him during his growing up period and show him the adoption papers
In the end Dick would end up talking to his father about the problems he had with his team and Bruce would convince Dick to return to the mansion for a while
Alfred and Batman would take care of reprimanding the titans for their bad behavior and getting Robin a better team to lead and ultimately they would be a better family after asking for forgiveness and some therapy sessions
