Glisten finally capped the gloss with a decisive click and turned fully to face Goob. “Alright,” he announced, striking a playful pose, one hand on his hip. “All done. What do you think? Am I sufficiently dazzling enough to see you off today?”
Goob’s eyes widened, his gaze travelling over Glisten’s perfectly crafted image. “You’re… you’re blindingly beautiful,” he breathed out, his voice thick with genuine admiration. “Always.”
Glisten felt a genuine flush of something warm, something that felt suspiciously like happiness, spread across his golden surface. He reached out and cupped Goob’s fluffy cheek in his hand. “You’re sweet,” he murmured, leaning in to press a deeper, lingering kiss to Goob’s lips. This time, the kiss was less chaste, more charged with unspoken emotions, with a subtle desperation that hummed beneath the surface.
