“What do you think all this says about me? That I’d rather sit in a dingy Ministry office on Christmas Eve and have my wand checked for unforgiveables than be with the people that consider me family?”
“I think it says that you’re not in control. You don’t have the things you want.”
“Do you? Have the things you want?” She looked at him again, and he smiled.
“Mostly.” He said. “I have friends that might as well be family. I have my cousin and my goddaughter. I have a job that I find fulfilling.”
“Cold bed, though?” She asked, and he chuckled.
“Takes one to know one.”
