Work Text:
The way Viktor’s mouth wraps around it, burning brighter with his breath. Chest expanding and then releasing with a quiet sigh, how the smoke curls from his lips as it dissipates into the night.
“Would you?” it’s an invitation, as Viktor gestures the cigarette towards Jayce,
“No, I- I don’t, I’ve never,” Viktor lets out a short hum before taking another drag, “should you?”
the question has left his mouth before he thinks to catch it, but at his core he can’t help but worry for his partner’s health despite it all.
Golden eyes give him a look, one that says enough and yet “I don’t indulge in these habits often enough for that to be a concern, Jayce.” smoke dripping from his mouth as he speaks, Jayce notes how it deepens his voice, draws it in.
“But it’s a good excuse to get away from the noise,” the gala, Jayce had convinced him to join along, it came with the usual banter, a sales pitch, the high beam balancing act it was with potential sponsors.
Jayce’s eyes are drawn to Viktor’s hand as he taps off the burnt out end of the cigarette, gaze trailing off with the embers as they drifted off like distant stars.
They stand in silence, taking in the night air, Jayce’s eyes following Viktor’s hand, to his lips, and release.
“Actually, could i?”
Viktor looks Jayce brow quirked, and with a brief shrug passes the cigarette to him.
He has never done this, but certainly it can’t be to hard and yet, Jayce coughs hard, embarrassment flushes across his face as he passes it back to Viktor’s hand, fingers lingering on the others for just a moment.
Viktor’s lip quirks up at the side, “You’re just a little too eager, here, let me help.”
Viktor takes another drag of the cigarette, then with his free hand reaches up to caress Jayce’s jaw, gently bringing his face down and pressing their lips together. His tongue gently pushing open the taller’s mouth, Jayce eagerly accepts, and then Viktor breathes the smoke into him. The taste of Viktor, sweet, the bite of champagne, and the sharpness of tobacco on his tongue.
It’s intoxicating in itself.
Viktor pulls back, then puts the cigarette out on the balcony railing. Jayce slowly opens his eyes caught in the moment, taking in every detail of his partner’s face, how the lights catch in the gold of his eyes, how his bottom lip pouts as he looks back to the door, to the crowd, brow furrowed in contemplation.
“We should probably head back in now, the people must have your audience, man of progress.” His smirk is audible.
“Could we, maybe, uh, share just one more? Then we can go back.”
“Oh now you want me to indulge in bad habits?”
“Only if i’m there to share.”
Jayce’s hand rests on his arm and Viktor takes the invitation to reach back up, taking his jaw in hand to press another kiss upon his lips, “Then share I will, partner.”
