Chapter Text
In a dimension different to our own known as the Demon Realm, there existed a place called the Boiling Isles. Formed from the dead body of a titanic being, appropriately called a Titan, the extremely potent magic caused many species that lived on his corpse to possess magic of their own. These Witches and Demons worshipped the Titan, for without him them and their very way of life would not exist. We see a town called Bonesborough, where various Witches and Demons were enjoying a peaceful day. The sun was shining, birds and griffins were singing, fairies were trying to eat your skin and it seemed like nothing could go wrong. Until it did.
"Run!" A witch screamed as monsters of unknown origin began to rampage through the streets. These were known as Husks. Faceless, humanoid creatures composed of unknown magic and false flesh that seemingly had no desires other than causing as much damage as possible. Regular witch and demon magic wasn't very effective against them, leaving most civilians little choice but to flee. The Husks continued on, destroying property and attacking anyone they came across indiscriminately, until one was destroyed by a blast of red magic.
"Halt foul beast, in the name of the Emperor." Said a young sounding male voice.
The people rejoiced, for their saviours were here, the best of the best, the only ones able to consistently defeat these monsters, the Emperor's Coven. The one who destroyed the Husk was easily recognizable as one of the highest ranked members in the Coven, the Golden Guard.
The Husks began to run at him and his scouts, but the Guard used his staff to flash out of the way while the scouts drew spell circles to attack and trap them. From above, the Golden Guard fired down a rain of red lightning and instantly destroyed the offending creatures. The citizens of Bonesborough cheered as the threat was eliminated and began to thank the Golden Guard.
"No thanks needed citizens. I was just doing the Titan's will by protecting you from these vile Wild Magic monsters." He said.
The people smiled, happy that the Titan had given them the Emperor's Coven to protect them and they were sure he was happy as well.
The Titan was not happy. How could he be when that parasite and con artist Belos was using his name in his schemes. Watching from the In Between Realm, he saw these creatures of foreign magic threaten those who called his corpse home and Belos using them to further his agenda.
"So you see our idea has merit?" Came a voice beside him. This was a multiversal being, connected to and protecting one of the greatest sources of energy in the multiverse known as the Morphin Gird. This was a Morphin Master.
The Titan sighed. "It does, but are you sure these Power Rangers will be enough?" He asked.
The Master nodded. "Indeed. Across many worlds, the Power Rangers have been able to defeat many foes to protect their homes. With their aid and your power, they shall defeat the threats to the Isles, both present and future." They said.
"Very well." The Titan agreed. Now all he had to do was find someone to go first. Someone braves, heroic and willing to light the path for the others. And he had just the person in mind.
In a place called The Owl House, resided a foreigner to the Demon Realm, a human girl by the name of Luz Noceda. A weirdo in her own world, Luz found herself in this one and took to it like a fish to water. And considering the water in this dimension is boiling is really saying something. She's gone from no friends at all to two friends, an adorable little buddy, and a super cool mentor. She was currently watching a crystal ball news broadcast regarding the recent attack.
"This is Perry Porter coming to you live from the Bonesborough market place, where the Emperor's Coven has just thwarted another Husk attack. Though the origin and magic used in these attacks remains unknown, we are grateful to the Emperor for keeping us safe from them." The reporter said.
"Hey Eda, what are these Husks anyway?" She asked her mentor.
Eda the Owl Lady, self proclaimed most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles and a wanted criminal. It was Eda's portal that got her here in the first place and she's been taking care of her and teaching her how to be a witch. As she found out recently, Eda was also cursed, turning into an Owl Beast if she didn't take her elixir often enough. The bright side (heh) of that horrifying situation was she was able to learn her first spell, a light glyph.
"Nobody really knows kid. According to the Emperor, they're apparently "vile monsters created by Wild Magic to destroy all that is good" but that's obviously a pile of griffin shit. All we really know is that their pretty tough but any strong witch worth their salt can at least hold their own against them." Eda said.
"Well they won't be so tough once I get my powers back and show them what the king of demons is really capable of." Her other housemate said.
King was a demon of unknown origin who believes he was once a powerful overlord but was cursed to his current state when his power was stolen. It almost definitely wasn't true but she certainly wasn't going to be the one to crush his spirit.
"You bet it buddy." She said instead as she pulled him into a hug he tried to resist before resigning to his fate.
Later that night, Luz had an odd dream. Not to say her dreams aren't usually odd, but there tends to be more Azura.
"Luz the human, you have been chosen. A threat approaches this world, and the Husks are just the beginning. Find allies, grow stronger and most importantly, trust in yourself. You are the Red Ranger of Light." A voice, or multiple voices it was hard to focus, said. She then felt a comforting warmth all around her and there was a bright flash of light.
Luz startled awake the next morning. That was way different than usual. "That's it, no more bitter bean blood before bed." She said to herself. She was still feeling weird but figured it would pass. She left her room and made her way downstairs.
"Hey guys, what's for breakfast?" She asked.
"Griffin eggs kiddo, why don't yo- hey who the heck are you? And what did you do with Luz?" Eda said, turning to look at her, panicking and grabbing Owlbert to point at her.
Luz looked around in confusion. "What do you mean?" She asked.
King then entered the room to check on the commotion and freaked out too. "Eda, who's the weirdo in red?" He asked.
Luz was even more confused, until she noticed a nearby mirror and checked her reflection. Staring back at her was someone in a red costume of some kind with black lines and what looked like a sword handle with a red helmet with horns and a black visor completely hiding her face.
"What the heck?" She asked.
"Answer me, who are you?" Eda asked threateningly.
Luz was floundering on how to explain when there was a sudden flash. When she opened her eyes she saw that she was back to normal but with a weird watch thing on her wrist.
"Luz? Was that a human thing?" King asked confused.
"Definitely not a human thing." Luz said.
