Chapter Text
Thanos walked aimlessly throughout town, humming tunes he made up on the spot. As he kept walking, he ended up in a park full of trees with dying leaves and vibrant flowers. He spotted an attractive man with sunglasses and a cane. Hoping to shoot his shot, Thanos walked up to him.
“Hola, Senorita. Err, Senorito? I don't know. Anyways, what's a guy like you doing outside on a cold evening such as tonight?” Thanos stared at the man curiously, waiting for him to answer.
The unknown man's brows furrowed, and he scowled. “Why do you want to know? Who even are you?” Thanos scoffed, clueless to the fact the man was blind, even though it was pretty obvious. “Do you not recognize me? I'm Thanos!”
As the blind man remained still and quiet, thinking about if he'd even ever heard that name before, Thanos realized he would have to elaborate. “Y'know, like, the rapper? C'mon, everyone knows me! Purple hair, very handsome?”
Not an ounce of recognition crossed the other man's face. “So not the guy from Marvel or whatever?” Thanos’ eyes widened in frustration. “No!” As the man flinched at his sudden outburst, Thanos rolled his eyes and sighed, sitting down next to him.
“Whatever. So, what's your name?” Thanos watched the man closely as he continued staring straight forward. It was a few seconds before the other man answered, and Thanos waited in anticipation. “Namgyu.” He finally replied. Thanos nodded silently and then said, almost to himself, “Alright, alright… Anyways, you're hot. Wanna hang out sometime?”
Namgyu answered almost immediately. “Fuck no. Your voice is grating. Now please bless my ears and fuck off.” Thanos’ brows furrowed in annoyance. “Well, then you can talk and stare at my beautiful face.” The blind man responded slowly. “Are you stupid, or are you just rubbing in the fact that I'm blind?”
Thanos’ eyes widened in realization. “Ohhhhh! So that's why you're not looking at me! I was starting to get offended.” He chuckled lightly while Namgyu scoffed. “So basically you're the blind one.” It was Namgyu's turn to laugh now, while Thanos looked confused. “Well- no. I can see, you can't.”
Namgyu sighed, exasperated. He muttered to himself. “God I hate idiots…”
“What'd you say?”
Again, Namgyu said it, but louder. A sound rose in the back of Thanos’ throat, but he said nothing. Instead, he pulled out a piece of paper and wrote something down on it. He grabbed the other man's hand and stuck it in. “If you ever change your mind about hanging out…”
Namgyu threw the paper on the ground. “I can't read that, dumbass.” Thanos hummed slightly in thought, before saying, “Do you have a good memory?” Again, the blind man replied. “I kinda have to, to be able to do pretty much anything. I'm gonna try to forget this conversation though.” As if to prove his point, Namgyu took a pill out of his pocket and stuck it gently on the tip of his tongue.
Thanos practically forgot what he was saying as he immediately asked Namgyu what he took and if he could have one. Obviously, Namgyu said no. He didn't know the other man, why would he give him the drugs he had spent his (not very) hard earned money on? He wouldn't.
Quickly enough, Thanos got back on track. “So, you have a good memory? Well, then you better remember this. I'll be expecting a call, since you can't text.” Thanos chuckled lightly to himself again before telling Namgyu his number, and asking him to recite it a few times to make sure he had it down. Namgyu recited it perfectly each time, although he was still planning on forgetting.
Finally, the blind man stood, tapping his cane on the ground as he walked. Thanos walked back the way he came- the opposite way as Namgyu- and continued to roam until around 9:00 PM. All the way, he had waited for Namgyu to call, but he never did. He thought to himself, "Well, I guess it's kinda early still. I mean, no one calls the day they get someone's number. That's just pathetic. Namsu doesn't seem pathetic."
