Work Text:

They had been kind of enemies. Well, not really, but there certainly was no love lost between the two Mandalorian warriors.

The fight with the Darksaber from not long ago. Then there was the whole destroying most of the Mandalorian coven on Nevarro just to save one child. Grogu.

Yeah, things had been mounting up for Din certainly in the negative as far as Paz was concerned.

Then, things had changed. Din, having been part of the crew who managed to save Paz’s kid from the flying beastie.

The two then soon realising, there was more they had in common than not. Making peace between them.

They were both fathers after all, they were also Mandalorian, by birth right or not, they were Mandos in all the sense of the word.

And so, the two solemn men, became rather friendly. Spending more and more time together. The games,  the sparring, even taking their kids on small trips together.

Din even showing his ship to Paz, letting the other Mando try it out! Unheard of, right!?

Well, guess it only took a child being saved to change a tough Mando’s mind?

The two soon growing more and more close to each other. their kids certainly having become friends even if Grogu wasn’t that articulate, not with words anyway. But there were other ways to communicate.

For Din and Paz, it meant grunts and chuckles rather than too many words shared. Actions instead of endless talks.

Indeed, they were more alike than not.

And so it happened.

I was during one of the outings of theirs. The camp all set, the fire going cozily, the stars were out. The kids, tucked in for the night after a hefty din-din eaten together.

All and all, perfection. For… well…

“Um, so yeah… I’ve been thinking.”

“Bout wot?”

“Well, ya and me, we have lots in common.”

It was the most words the two had most likely exchanged since, well, ever. And the pour wasn’t stopping either. Paz having something important to say to Din, clearly.

“We do, true.”

“So, the kids get along, rather well, right.”

“Yup, they do.”

A spell of silence fell on the two suddenly, guess that was it? Alas no.

“So, do we.”

Din turned to look at Paz, not really sure what this was all about. The sudden outburst.

“Where, are you going with this?”

“Here, is where this is going.”

Paz took his helmet off, without warning. Leaning closer to Din, who was in total shock now of that happening. But as Paz gently took Din’s helmet off as well, there was no objection what so ever from the other Mando.

And so, for the first time, the two enemies, now friends, were face to face, actually seeing eye to eye in real time.

Without further explanation needed, Paz pulled Din into him. Their lips meeting, softly, gently, barely there touching the other. Until, they did. Touch some more. Kissing each other, passionately, wantonly, fearlessly.

For the first time, before it was over all too soon.

“I like the way you’re thinking.” Din simply stated before grabbing Paz in for another kiss.

Without any objections but of course.
