Work Text:

Johnny had made his way to the Curtis household, hoping that either Ponyboy or Sodapop were home so he wouldn't be so lonely. Unfortunately, they weren't. Soda was most likely still at the DX. He heard movement upstairs, tensing immediately as he sat down on the couch. Heavy steps came down the stairs, Darrel coming into view. Johnny tensed up almost immediately. It was Darry, he didn't relax in the slightest. Why did he have to get there when Darry was home? Darrel was upstairs doing some work on an old desk when he hurd the front door open. He dusted off his hands before making his way downstairs but when he saw Johnny seated on the couch, he wouldn't lie if he said that he was surprised.

"Hey there, Johnny." He said, piecing together why you must've been there. "Sodapop's workin' late. Won't be home till' six."

Johnny had mostly been bored when he came over, hoping Ponyboy or Sodapop were there. When they weren't, he was fixing to leave until he saw Darry. He'd sit himself down on the couch, twirling some of his dark curls around his finger. "Oh, ok. I can come back tomorrow then." Johnny responded, moving to stand up.

Darry took a couple steps closer to Johnny, his broad shoulders slightly hunched as he shoved his hands into the pockets of his dark jeans. He tilted his head slightly, studying Johnny with those piercing blue-green eyes that seemed to look right through him

"Hold up a minute there, Johnny." Darry said, his deep voice smooth yet firm. "No need to run off so fast. We can still shoot the breeze for a spell if'n you want."

He gestured to the couch, inviting Johnny to sit back down. "Take a load off, buddy. I ain't seen much of you lately. How's things been goin' with you?" Darry asked, trying to start a friendly conversation despite his usually serious demeanor. Johnny stops in place, staring at Darry for a few seconds before sitting back down. He was quiet for several moments, he didn't really know what to say to Darry. They hadn't seen much of each other, like the other male had said. He twiddled his thumbs as he stared at his feet.

"'bout the same as always." Johnny shrugged. "My folks still hate me, living on the streets, all the same."

Darry sat down on the couch across from Johnny, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees. He looked at Johnny with a mix of concern and understanding in his eyes, his brow slightly furrowed.

"Aw hell, Johnny, I'm sorry to hear that." Darry said, his voice low and sincere. "Still ain't easy bein' you, is it? With your old man and all..."

He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Listen, you know you can always crash here if you're in a tight spot. I know what it's like to feel like you ain't got nowhere to go." Darry's gaze turned more intense as he held Johnny's eyes. "I know I ain't exactly the most...approachable kinda guy. But you're still one of us, Johnny. A greaser. And we look out for each other, yeah?"

He leaned back, spreading his hands. "So whaddya say? Wanna stick around till Soda gets home? I reckon Ponyboy should be back soon too. We could all hang out, maybe go see a movie or somethin'." Darry tried to keep his tone casual, wanting Johnny to feel welcome and not put upon, even as he felt a pang of protectiveness and worry for the troubled boy whi had no real home or family to speak of.

Johnny smiled softly at Darry, he always did like him more than Sodapop or Ponyboy. Darry was nice and looked out for him, kind of like Dallas did but more in a fatherly way. Maybe that's why he was so.. drawn to him. Johnny was strange. He liked Darry in a certain way that felt wrong because it sort of was. Darry was several years older than Johnny. "I'd like that. Although, I wasn't really here for Ponyboy.." He muttered that last part, turning his gaze down again. Darry noticed the way Johnny's gaze darted away and the soft, almost shy smile he gave. He felt a flicker of confusion at Johnny's muttered comment about not being there for Ponyboy. But mostly, he felt a wave of protectiveness wash over him. He reached out, hesitantly placing a large, calloused hand on Johnny's knee.

"Hey, it's all right. I ain't gonna judge, Johnny." Darry said softly, giving his knee a gentle squeeze. "You know you can tell me anything, yeah? I'm here for you, just like I'm here for Ponyboy and Soda." He searched Johnny's face, trying to understand the strange tension he was picking up on. "Is there somethin' you wanna talk about? Somethin' on your mind?"

Darry's voice was low and careful, concerned. He could sense that Johnny was struggling with something, and he wanted to help. But there was also a flicker of unease in his gut. Johnny tensed when Darry out his hand on his knee, his legs clenching together and his head turning away from the older man. He hated feeling this way. He hated being so.. attracted to Darry. It was wrong. So, so wrong. But it felt so, so right.

"N.. no. Just.. uhm- t-tired." Johnny deflected, keeping his gaze away. He felt such conflicting things. He wanted to be close to Darry, close enough that he could feel the heat that came off of him. But at the same time he wanted to run away and ignore his feelings.

"I-i can just take a nap in Soda's old room.."

Darry felt Johnny tense under his touch, saw him clench his legs together and turn away. He frowned slightly, sensing Johnny's discomfort and unease. There was something else there too, something that made Darry's heart beat a little faster in his chest. He ignored it for now, not wanting to push Johnny away.

"Aw hell, Johnny, if you're tired, you're welcome to crash here. No need to sleep in Soda's old room though." Darry said, his voice gentle but firm. "You can take the couch, or even my room if you want. I can sleep out here."

He stood up, his tall frame unfolding from the couch. "Tell you what, why don't you go lie down for a bit? I'll make us some coffee and we can watch a movie when you wake up. Sound good?" Darry held out his hand to help Johnny up, his eyes filled with a mix of concern, confusion, and a flicker of something more. He didn't quite understand it, but he knew he wanted to make sure Johnny was okay. No matter what else might be going on. "And hey, Johnny?" He added softly. "Remember what I said. You can talk to me about anything. Anytime."

His room? Darry was offering him.. HIS ROOM? Johnny wanted to run away. He felt like he was overheating as the thought about be surrounded by Darry's scent. "

Y-your room is fine." He muttered, his voice almost barely audible as he took Darry's hand and stood up. He let go as quickly as he could, sidestepping Darry and hurrying up the stairs. He found Darry's room rather quickly, going inside and locking the door behind him. His heart felt like it was going to explode as he tried to calm down. He was in Darry's room. He was in DARRY'S room.. all by himself, surrounded by all his objects. He couldn't deny how he felt, grabbing one of the shirts from Darry's clothes hamper and inhaling the smell. It smelled like that musky scent Darry had. It was intoxicating to Johnny. He felt ashamed at how it made him feel. He crawled into the bed, pressing the shirt to his face as he began to touch himself. He whined softly at first, those little sounds slowly turning into louder moans and whimpers of Darry's name.

God, this was so wrong. But it felt so right.

Johnny continued to jerk off, inhaling Darry's smell from the shirt. He was so engrossed in what he was doing, in his little fantasies he didn't realize he was being loud. Not until he heard the sound of a mug shattering on the ground. He was panting heavily, a whine coming from him due to being unfinished. But he was worried something was wrong. So he forced himself to toss the shirt back into the hamper, tuck himself back into his pants and leave the room. Putting on his best sleepy act, he descended the stairs.* "I heard something break. Is everything OK?" He asked, rubbing his eye.

Darry stood frozen, staring at the shattered mug on the floor. He could hear Johnny's footsteps on the stairs, could hear the sleepy, slightly concerned tone of his voice. He knew he had to get ahold of himself, had to act normal. But it was hard, with the realization of what Johnny had been doing upstairs weighing heavily on his mind. He took a deep, shuddering breath, trying to calm the racing of his heart. When Johnny appeared at the bottom of the stairs, Darry was crouched down cleaning up the broken mug.

"Yeah, everything's fine. Just a little accident with the mugs." He said, keeping his voice steady and calm. "Didn't mean to scare you, Johnny."

"You feeling better after your nap?" He asked, standing up and tossing the broken pieces into the trash. He turned to face Johnny, "I made that coffee like I promised. You want some?"

Had he heard? Johnny wondered. His heart began to race more than it was at the idea Darry had heard him. Shame grasping at him. "Uhm, no. Sorry. I'm still tired. I-i don't really like coffee." Johnny apologized, glancing away as he slowly began to move back up the stairs.

Once he was further up the stairs, he hurried back to Darry's room, once more locking the door. He had to be more careful. He couldn't get caught more than he already was. So this time, more carefully, he grabbed the shirt again and crawled back into bed. This time, he grabbed one of the large pillows and put it between his legs. He pressed the shirts against his face as he rut against the pillow. With face pressed against the bed, he was more muffled. He huffed and moaned as he grinded against the pillow. Fuck, fuck, fuck, his mind was buzzing with thoughts. He imagined he was riding Darry. He imagined that the older man was whispering sweet words to him. He keened as he came, his seed spilling out onto the pillow. He panted heavily, his head feeling and his body hot. He felt disgusted in himself. He was 16 after all, and Darry was 20! This was wrong! He gave the shirt a deep long inhale, so wrong but so good..

Johnny's head felt dizzy and heavy as he came down from his high. He rested against the bed, grinding his hips against the defiled pillow absently. He was hazy as he shifted off the pillow. He couldn't will words, just a whine. He wanted to hide, but at the same time he wanted Darry to come and get him. To have his way with him. It was so wrong. So incredibly wrong. He tossed the pillow to the side, his mind slow and sleepy as he slowly.. fell.. asleep.
