Chapter Text
A long time ago, in a land far away in the realm of magic, lay a kingdom known as Sanguiem.
Sanguiem was a prosperous kingdom with lush grasslands and bountiful farms. All of its inhabitants lived in harmony with one another, meaning the humans and the Moors. The Moors were magical beings who had occupied the land before the humans settled the area. They came in all different sizes, shapes, and species from Faeries, to trolls, to tree sprites, and more in between. In exchange for protection from foreign invaders, the humans have the Moors shares of their harvests and goods.
In this great land, there was a young farmer and blacksmith named Guren. He was a simple man from a modest family, and wasn't too poor or rich. He simply just was, and preferred to do everything on his own. He lived on a moderate farm in the Far East lands of Sanguiem in the territory of the Hiiragi Family. He made weapons for a living and was renowned for his Black Demon Series weapons that even royals were known to purchase. His only friend was a man named Shinya who was the adoptive son of the Hiiragis.
One day, he met the beautiful daughter of the Hiiragi Family, Mahiru, who was passing through his farm sight seeing. It was love at first sight for the two, and they had never been happier in the months they spent courting each other. But after time passed, Mahiru passed away from a virus rampaging the countryside. Guren was heartbroken, and shut himself off from anyone that knew him.
Shinya was his only console during his time of grief. It pained him to see his best friend and object of his greatest love be in such a pit of despair, and he did everything he could to comfort him. Shinya finally told Guren about his feelings months after Mahiru's passing. Eventually, Guren grew to return Shinya's feelings, and learned to love again. Shinya soon moved out of the Hiiragi mansion to live with Guren, much to his adoptive fathers disapproval.
After a few years spent together, the couple wanted a child to raise and call their own after seeing countless other families around them do so. But since both were males, they were at a loss as how to proceed. Any nearby orphanages were several days trip away, and neither had female relatives to donate sperm to.
One day, as Guren and Shinya were outside weeding their plot, an old woman came to them and asked for a place to spend the night. The couple was happy to grant her request, as they had been terribly lonely, and gave her everything she needed from a bed, sheets, and warm bath. The next morning, after a restful nights sleep, the two males discovered the old woman was gone, with only a pot of dirt left behind on the kitchen counter. Beside the pot, a letter sat.
Inside, the contents told Guren and Shinya that the old woman had actually been a sorceress who had been amazed at the generosity of the couple, and she decided she would grant them a wish as a token of gratitude. She supposedly planted a magical seed in the pot of dirt, and in a weeks time it would grow to be a beautiful flower which would bloom and bear them a child. Guren and Shinya had never been so happy as they were then (though they were confused as to how a flower could bear children).
They watered the flower everyday and watched as the sprout grew from the soil into a gorgeous white and violet bloom. On the seventh day, Shinya noticed that a faint light seemed to be emanating from the bud, and after calling Guren over to examine it, the bud slowly peeled away its petals. The couple watched in wonder as the petals parted to reveal a tiny boy no bigger than a persons thumb be revealed.
The tiny boy slowly blinked open his bright green eyes and looked up at the pair watching him with awe and confusion. A tiny smile lit his face, and he asked, "Are you my parents?
Guren and Shinya wanted to cry at the grace they had received, and with nodding heads and tears on their faces they replied, "Yes, little one. We are your parents. What is you name?" "Whatever you want it to be!"
The couple then decided to name the boy Yuuichiro, meaning courageous, as their courageous little miracle. Despite the boy being only a couple inches tall, the two newly parents doted on their child and spoiled him (well, mostly Shinya. Guren was never one for showing too much affection). They hand made him everything, including clothes, a bed, furniture, and even little silverware.
The "small" family had never been happier, and they all lived peacefully on their farm. But Yuuichiro couldn't help but feel lonely sometimes. He was two inches tall and wasn't much help to his parents on the farm or Guren with his blacksmithing. Sure, he may sort seeds or would take on any tiny tasks, but it wasn't enough. His parents would more often than not leave him at their house when they went to the market for fear of losing him. The one time he had gone with them, he had nearly been stepped on. Guren had raged at the poor unlucky fellow for what felt like hours.
His loneliness also came from being so small. No one was like him, being so tiny. He had heard his parents speak about the Moors and tell tales about their amazing abilities, but had never actually seen one. The Moors typically lived in forest areas, and Yuuichiro lived on treeless plot. Supposedly, there were faeries that were tiny too with beautiful wings and wonderful magic. He wondered if he was like them, except without wings.
Yuuichiro would often gaze out the window of their house and wish to meet one just so he could finally have something in common with someone else. But the chances of this happening were slim. Faeries were solitary creatures and preferred to not interact with humans. But the boy could wish.
Unbeknownst to him, they was a faerie who desperately wanted to leave the boring and dull life of the Faerie Woods and explore the world around him. This faerie felt that something awaited him outside of the Woods, and he was anxious to find out what.
Little did both know, that fate had already began to weave their lives together in an intricate pattern.
And this is where our story begins...
