Siuan expertly reeled in her fishing line, before carefully removing the fish from the hook and placing it in the bucket beside her with the others she'd caught. She looked over at Moiraine, who was watching her with a small smile, floppy hat perched on her head.
"Hello, my pufferfish," Siuan said, smiling back at Moiraine. "I'd go over and hug you. Except I don't want to get fish hands all over you."
"S'okay," Moiraine said, scooching over to Siuan, leaning her head on her shoulder. "Just being close to you is good enough. More than good enough. And also, I don't mind fish hands."
Siuan rinsed her hands off in the river, before drying them on a rag and throwing her arms around Moiraine. "There you go," she said. "Mmmm. You're so lovely to hug. Perfect size and shape for holding."
Moiraine laughed. "And you are absolutely lovely to hug. You're always so warm, and it's absolutely delicious."
"Pop your head on my lap," Siuan said, patting it for Moiraine. "Then I'll be able to catch dinner and keep you close at the same time."
Moiraine pulled off her hat and positioned herself on Siuan's lap. "You block the sun as well," she said. "Good thing you're so tall."
Siuan chuckled. "Only one hand taller," she said. "Or ten centimetres, if you prefer."
"Close enough." Then, "You need me to do anything?"
Siuan shook her head fondly, leaning down to kiss Moiraine's forehead. "No need," she said. "Just do what you're already doing. Which is simply to just be here."
