ZAYUMMM just spotted two gays

Summary:

Freminet never thought himself to celebrate holidays, which honestly wasn't surprising. The house of hearth had better things to do than to celebrate some random days. Regardless of their meaning.

But here he was, sitting on some cliff in Liyue with his boyfriend. On no other day than Valentine's Day itself.

(Happy late Valentine's Day everyone!!)

Work Text:

Freminet never thought himself to celebrate holidays, which honestly wasn't surprising. The house of hearth had better things to do than to celebrate some random days. Regardless of their meaning.

But here he was, sitting on some cliff in Liyue with his boyfriend. On no other day than Valentine's Day itself. Next to them were a few boxes filled with desserts that had baked the night before. It was fun. Maybe a little awkward at times but he had enjoyed the time they had spent together.

Regardless of that, he never was interested in those days. Neither was Lynette or Father. This was more of Lyney‘s thing and yet here he was. Celebrating this day with his lover before his older brother could, which was kinda hilarious if he was being honest.

„-which was like really weird! Like dude, who kisses someone on their cheek today and then denies that they are together?“

The loud voice of his boyfriend pulled him from his thoughts. The blonde boy could feel how his face got engraved in a flood of heat as he realised that he hadn't listened for a while. “Maybe this was a sign of, err… platonic affection?”

Gaming sighed before nodding. “Yeah, maybe.” He had perhaps genuinely over analysed the act between those people, which was a little embarrassing. Coughing quietly, he decided to stir the topic into another direction. “Well Fremi’,” Reaching for one of the few desserts they had left, Gaming thought for a moment. “What else would you like to do today?”

Freminet blinked a little surprised at the question before letting his fingers twitch against each other. “A-Ah well,... I didn't think that far… ahead.” Should he have thought about a second idea after Gaming had offered that picnic?

Golden eyes softened at the other. “We can just stay here.” Catching the divers uncertain look, he waved his hand dismissing. “ I don't mind it, you know? I mean, who would?” Gaming reached around Freminet and pulled him against his side. “I’m getting to share all this good looking food with someone who is pretty. Not everyone gets this chance in life, dude!”

It felt like his heart could break through his chest with each word spoken by the other. “G-Gaming…” Freminet grumbled but made no move to inch away from the other. Quite the opposite even, which made the Brunette grin even more.

“What? Just tellin’ the truth.”

His lips quivered a little upwards by Gamings acts, while his eyes moved towards the forest. Hoping that avoiding direct eye contact will calm his pulse down. Taking a steady breath, he returned his eyes back to Gaming’s direction. “I’m happy too… being with you I mean.”

Gaming looked surprised at him before chuckling. “Awww Dude!” In a not so graceful movement, he pressed a soft peck on Freminets cheek. Indulging himself with the way the other's lips curved even more up.

As Gaming let his gaze travel across the landscape below them, he couldn't help but stay on the blue shining sea. The way it seemed to stand still from up here, made him think of the other boy. From the way Freminet seemed as a rather slow paced person, who would rather go at his own pace than to run to his destination. But the closer he got, the diver didn't end up being a frozen lake. Rather a lively ocean. If it isn't something like tinkering on his mechanics, the other prefers to hurry, and all those emotions in his eyes, swirling around to the point one can't read them properly. Those were sides he hadn't known at first but discovered the more they had hung out together.

“The ocean is breathtaking from up here, no?”

Flinching slightly, Gaming’s view changed from the landscape to the side profile of Freminet. “Yeah…” If he had truly meant the scenery or the boy in front of him, was even unknown to himself. Maybe even both but a part of his mind told him otherwise.

By the time the sun had vanished behind the last mountain, they were already back at Gaming's apartment.

It was quiet. Both were focused on their own things. Freminet was sitting on the couch, drawing in his notebook, while Gaming had excused himself to the toilet.

Stepping through the hallway, he walked past the toilet door and went to his room instead. He tried to keep his steps lighter even though he knew that the blonde boy wouldn't hear him.

As he reached the shelf next to his bed, he bent down and searched for a small box. It didn't take him long luckily, he barely filled the lower parts of his shelf. He only used it for a temporary storage room. His mother used to do it, back when she was still around. He always found it pretty tactical and it made him feel closer to her. It brought a small smile to his face before grabbing the box carefully.

The box was in a black colour, while decorated with a few fake pearls he had gotten from the souvenir shop. Rising up again, he made his way back to the living room. Gaming could practically feel how the hair in his neck stood up.

Each of his steps echoed in the hallway, making the situation feel way worse than it is- than it is supposed to be. With the first foot inside the room again, his eyes met with a pair of blue ones.

“A-Ah…”

He could feel the awkwardness sinking into his skin, which was a little bit funny. Gaming wasn't really used to feel awkward by such small things as entering a room but now he was. Was it Freminets curious gaze? The gift in his hand-? Yeah, it was the gift.

Letting out a shuttering exhale, Gaming walked over to Freminet.

“Is everything alright, Gaming?” Freminet’s voice rang through the air, breaking the silence with a quiet question.

Gaming nodded before reaching the box out to the other. “Well,... It's still Valentine's Day and I still have a gift for you.” Across Freminet's face came a surprised expression before turning into a faint smile. He watched as Freminet's finger reached out for it and carefully took it towards himself.

While the blonde boy studied the box, Gaming found a seat next to him.

In a graceful movement, Freminet opened the container and stared at the content inside. Three Starconch’s. Each seemed as perfect as they could. No cracks or missing parts- not that Freminet would have minded those.

“I- Thank you, Gaming…” Biting his lip, Freminet gently raised one of the Starconch up, inspecting it foundly. When he had first seen one, he had been captured by their perfectly shaped stars. To think he would get them from his boyfriend in such perfect form was beyond excitement. “They are magnificent.”

Lifting his hand towards Freminet's face, Gaming brushed the few hair strands away from his face. “Well, I didn't give you them just because they were pretty.” He silently took in the curious expression Freminet threw his way. “If the shell is empty,” Carefully taking the Starconch from Freminet's hands, he raised it up to the others ear. “you can hear the sea.”

Freminet blinked surprised at the revelation before his eyes practically shone from excitement. It sounded like waves hitting each other, while the wind gently carried an undertone to it.

“I know how much you adore the water and you can't really dive here in Liyue…” Gaming slowly lowered the shell and placed it back into the box. “So, I thought ‘why not give you something, which would remind you of the sea?’, you know?”

It took Freminet a moment to realise what the boy next to him said, before he swiftly clapsed both of his hands around his. “Honestly… I'm not sure where to start,” His cheeks rose up in a pretty pink and he felt like running out of the room from this overwhelming situation. But he wasn't planning on ruining this relationship and with the way Gaming's eyes held a small uncertain shimmer in them, made this option seem even less appealing. “Err,.. This gift- Those shells are lovely… a-and the reason you gave them to me too…”

Seeing how thoughtful his gift was made Freminet feel bad for not getting him one too. He had asked his siblings but both had said that spending time together is more worth than some gifts. He totally agrees but getting all this from Gaming, a boy he had never thought of befriending around a year ago, made him feel many things. Too many things.

“I never thought I would enjoy celebrating this… holiday,” He started quietly. Being honest, he had genuinely no idea what he was trying to say but he wanted Gaming to know he appreciates everything he had done. “But I don't regret spending it with you one bit… It's perfect.” Squeezing the hand in his grip, he finally brought his eyes towards Gaming's and almost froze when he saw the genuine flabbergasted expression. Luckily, before his mind could make him feel sick with internal worry, the brunette wrapped his arms around him, which made him squeak up.

His hands went instinctively to secure the box in his lap and carefully placed it next to him on the couch. He would have felt way worse when they got broken than not returning the hug fast enough.

“I'm so happy you liked it, Fremi'...” Gaming's voice came muffled next to his ear.

Taking a short breath, Freminet returned the hug.

“Archons, I'm being a lil’ too emotional right now.” Gaming whined but made no move to pull away. Only after a few more seconds passed did he move back to his original position again.

Freminet's eyebrows were a little more pinched together than usual, which made Gaming pause in his thoughts. “You can be emotional… I'm not the best at comfort,” He scratched his arm nervously. “but I'll gladly try if you want…”

Gaming wasn't sure how to react anymore and simply laughed. He laughed with such a big grin that Freminet almost thought he was made fun of but before that thought could enter his mind, Gaming had already pulled him into a short kiss. It had only lasted a few seconds but the grin on his face didn't die down.

“Thank you.” Feeling his cheeks grew hotter, he quietly scratched his neck. “And happy Valentine's Day.”

Freminet's face wasn't better. The colourful rosy tone which tainted his skin had even reached his collarbone and with how long he had taken to respond, it also threw him off guard it seems.

“Uhh… You're welcome?” Blinking a few times, hoping that a sharper vision would either help his mind to calm down or at least his nerves. “A-And you too… Happy Valentine's Day…”

Notes:

I think I developed like a writing block or sum😭 It was hell to come up with anything in the fic but hopefully it solves itself soon🙏
But ARGHH I love writing about them and I think I wrote them quite different than I used to(not sure if this is good tbh)
At first I wanted to make Freminet give Gaming a Cecilia which he build with mechanics ykyk I mean the description literally screams Gaming and I thought it would be more adorable when Freminet made it with his own little touch. But than I was already struggling with just this short concept of only Gaming giving him smth, which made me reconsider this idea again😔
