Summary
“Would you like to go on a walk in the woods with me, James?” Effie asks, finishing the ties on her shoes and grabbing the walking stick that Monty had made for her when they first got together.
James nods, stumbling over to put his own shoes on, jumping up as soon as he was done.
“Do you remember what I told you, pyaar?”
“Always follow the trail.” James nods, walking over to the trailhead that they’ve gone down before.
“Do you remember why we always follow the trail?”
“Because it’s easy to get lost in the woods.”

“James, honey!” Effie calls from where she’s kneeling in front of her garden, plucking some of the flowers from their stems gently and moving to put them into her basket, “Don’t get too close to the forest while the fog is out, mera pyaar!”
“Why can’t I just go to the fence maa?” He calls back, having stopped where he was when his mum called out to him.
“It’s too close to the forest.”
