So surprise surprise, my first fic is a telestratus fic. Honestly, I think this ship doesn’t get enough love and I’m here to give it more despite my only writing experience is on wattpad. Hopefully, it’s better now since it has been years, but still don’t have too high expections here.

Chapter Text

His black hair stuck to his face due to sweat. But, his grey eyes, still shining so brightly, almost like the only thing in this world is just him and this stage.

Oh, how Peisistratus admired him.

“What? A live performance?” Peisistratus stared at his sister, raising his eyebrows in question.

“Yeah! Apparently, there’s going to be this hotshot singer at the performance this Saturday.” Polycaste nodded, “I don’t want to be at the concert all alone, so I’m dragging you with me!”

“Why couldn’t you ask, I don’t know, Pisidice or Epicaste? I’m sure they’d appreciate going there.” He tilted his head in question.

“You really think those two are the type to willingly go to a noisy place?” She retorted back.

.. Yeah, she had a point about that.

“Please, I already bought the tickets for it! Just come with me, just this once!” She slammed her hands together, almost like praying to him. To add to the damage, she gave the worst-best puppy eyes to him.

Peisistratus sighed fondly, “Alright, I’ll come. You know I can never refuse you.”

Polycaste pumped her hand in the air, letting out a “Yes!”. Peisistratus chuckled at his sister’s behaviour. Even though Peisistratus is the youngest of the family, his sister who is older than by a year, undoubtedly still has some childish behaviours that he cherishes.

“So, any idea who this ‘all-so-awesome’ singer is?”

“You know, I knew there were going to be plenty of people. But, I didn’t expect it to be so.. crowded.” Peisistratus got dragged by Polycaste by the wrist, following her in the crowd. He kept bumping into the people and his apologies were drowned out in the loud noises in the venue.

“I mean, what do you expect? Anyone would be interested in seeing this remarkable singer!”

“You still haven’t answered me who this singer is though?” He gave a confused expression to her. Although, she couldn’t really see it as she was still dragging him.

“It’s fine! Once we see their face, I’m sure we'll know who this singer is!”

“.. So, you’re telling me that you also don’t know?”

She looked back at him and seemed to be giving a sheepish look, “..Maybe?”

Peisistratus stared at her a bit longer before sighing exasperatedly, “It’s fine. It’s good to be out of the house once in a while anyways.” He smiled at Polycaste, ensuring her.

“Although, if none of them are good, you’re going to have to owe me something.”

“Deal!”

The two finally made the front, or as close to the front as there were still people in front of them. As soon as they did, the lights immediately turned off, causing the whole venue to go into full darkness. Peisistratus was sure if he even moved a little, he’d either accidentally trip up on something, or bump into someone.

Soon, the first participant comes onto the stage.

“You better prepare because I think you’re going to owe me now.” He cackled at Polycaste.

“Trust me, they’re definitely here somewhere!”

“Yeah? It’s already the last participant for tonight now, and I doubt it’s going to change anything.”

“Watch as it bites you in the ass!” She blew a raspberry, which you would think she would have already gotten over it with her age,

“Doubt it!” He rolled his eyes in fondness. It doesn’t seem like Peisistratus has also gotten over his childishness.

As the band who finished playing walked off the stage, a new one came on. However, unlike the last few who were bands, this one was.. by himself? He walked in with a guitar, the strap hanging from his shoulder. He plugged in his guitar and grabbed the microphone, coughing a few times away from it.

The singer closed his eyes, seemingly preparing himself and inhaled, yelling out, “Are you guys ready for the best performance of your life? Give me some energy!”

The crowd immediately erupted out loud, yelling in excitement.

“Glad the crowd is still energetic!” He laughed out loud, “Enough talking now, I’m just delaying the inevitable.” Some of the people in the crowd chuckled a bit. The singer smiled before inhaling, singing out loud.

I wanna be the hero in your story,

Peisistratus found himself immediately being drawn to the voice of the singer. The singer’s voice, it wasn’t exactly a rough and raspy voice, nor was it a soft-spoken voice. His voice was strong and powerful, yet still capturing the gentleness behind it.

Cause when the villain’s finished,”

He found himself being captivated by the singer. The singer didn’t seem to be too young, or too old. Hell, he might be around his age, and he already has that much talent? It’s a wonder he hasn’t gone out of the country yet.

I wanna be the one to make it out the cave alive!

The singer swayed left and right. His eyes crinkled upwards as he smiled singing. The mole on his lower right eye added innocence to his smile. His raven hair, already drenched with sweat, moved along his swaying.

Cause I wanna be the one to make it back and by your side,

“See! I told you the singer would be here!- Peisistratus?” She yelled out loud in victory before looking back at Peisistratus, noticing his trance while staring at the singer. She bumped shoulders with Peisistratus, who just noticed she was talking to him.

“Looks like I don’t have to owe anything to you after all.” She giggled.

“Oh, shut it.” He rolled his eyes and tried to hide his smile, though failing at the task. He moved along to the song that the singer seemed to enjoy.

The song eventually came to an end, much to Peisistratus’s disappointment. “Unfortunately, I’m the last participant and that is the last song for today!” He bowed as the audience groaned in dismay.

“However! I will be in many more gigs and live performances like this, so just keep an eye out. For those curious, my name is Gladiolus!”

He unplugged his guitar and walked off the stage, waving at the crowd.

“So, what did you think?” Polycaste asked her brother, predicting his response.

After a moment of silence from Peisistratus,

“I think I’m now a fan.”
