Chapter Text
Euphemia awoke on her bed, peering up at the ceiling.
'Time for work already? I just got home,' was her only thought before reluctantly pushing herself out of bed. She forced herself off her bed, towards the bathroom, and began showering. Anymore, it felt like the only free time she had was in her shower. At the very least, it was the only place she was able to think. The soft sound of the water rushing over her head was the only thing soothing her thoughts, slowing them enough to allow her to grab a hold of them and add to them before they ran away.
She didn't have much time for herself. That was a given for anyone, whether adult or child. She reluctantly pulled herself out of her shower, mercilessly taking a towel to her damp body before putting her hair up. After that was just a quick session of 'pull whatever out of the closet and decide if it's fit for work or not.' Eventually, she pulled on her outfit, deciding to face today with as much enthusiasm as twelve minutes of sleep could bring.
She pulled her phone of the charger, picked up her headphones, and put them on, making her way to her favorite coffee shop. She ordered a black coffee, the flavor bitter enough to keep her awake through the day, paid for it, and started making her way to her office. She walked past her coworkers, opened a door, and sat down.
This day felt normal enough. It passed by as usual, that is, until the worst wave of nausea she'd had in her life swept over her.
This average day was what would lead to a dramatic change in the life of this completely average human.
