Summary
Valentine’s day had usually just been another day of the year for Sae – another day to live out his trained, mundane routine, finding solace in the tranquility that lies between the peace and quiet of his acute solitude, trying to find a way to not feel God awful for a second. And just like always, it was a day off – no hour-long practice, no intensive training, no unreachable expectations and no reminders of his own worthlessness of who he used to think he was.
But this year, it was different. This year he didn’t wake to an empty, cold and awfully too large bed and a day promised with practiced and customary trifles he had grown used to.
