Erik is a topic that Charles hasn’t approached in a long time. Or even thought about. He avoids it at all costs, because how can he bear the thought of someone who hurt him so badly?
So when Logan brings him up as part of their plan to stop Raven, Charles is triggered, and once he leaves, it isn’t long before he seeks out his hidden stash of the serum to numb the feelings that Erik’s mention has brought boiling to the surface.
A relapse, but a welcome one.
