There was a ruckus in the break-room on Kamino where the clones usually gathered.
The lot of them present shouting over the noise, trying to get their voice heard. Some laughing, some even singing? What the hell was going on in there?
Cody and Rex were on their way to the place, having just arrived from an undercover op with a small team, the Bad Batch. Them confused as to why there were so many vod’e in there, all at the same time and why they were even louder than usual? If possible.
“What the kark is going on in here?” Cody shouted to someone closest to him.
“Didn’t ya guys hear the news?”
Jess and Kix were the ones answering the commanders with the others having already heard the news over the clone grapevine. The very good news clearly?
“Hear what exactly?” Rex demanded of the troopers.
“The war, is over!”
Cody and Rex could not believe what they were hearing, the glance exchanged telling.
Just then Clone Force 99 joined the two leaders, being as surprised as they were.
“What is going on here?” Echo was the first trying to make some sense to it all.
“Apparently, the war ended while we were on the mission.”
Tech having already hacked into the holo-net, to the one place only open to top brass and the Jedi, and of course, Tech, knowing well where to look for.
“Well, then, guess it is time to celebrate!” Hunter chimed in the conversation.
Seeing as some of the troopers were already popping corks off alcoholic beverages to start the celebration. With thanks to the two troopers, Soup and Toast having thought way ahead, their shipment of the celebratory good stuff having been brought out for all of them now having an impromptu party.
“Guess we better join in before the booze is all gone.”
Crosshair and Wrecker were already moving towards the crowd and the makeshift bar, getting their fair share. After all, it was a party!
“Wait up!” The other three following suit.
“Well Rexy, guess, we got our wish finally.” Cody chimed, not really sure as to what to think of this, news.
“Yeah, Codes, sure looks like it.” Rex didn’t sound as eager though, as the most of them seemed to be.
“Do we believe this? That it’s real?”
“Well, Tech did check the official channel, didn’t he.”
And yet, it seemed, unreal somehow. Even if they both trusted Tech to find whatever needed to be found.
But, when in Coruscant…
“Okay, then, shall we my dear?”
“After you, sweetheart.”
Cody and Rex joined the party as well. As whom where they do resists the one celebration they had been wishing for for so long!?! Despite perhaps of the lingering thoughts of doubt there somewhere.
