Welcome to Twisted Wonderland Hazbins!!

Summary:

The Hazbin Hotel just got a new guest, Sir Pentious, and Charlie is super excited to help the snake find his way to redemption. She's even thinking about throwing a little party when Sir Pentious hits his one-week mark at the hotel.

So, out of nowhere, the hotel just gets whisked away from Hell and pops up in a totally different world. The hotel is combined with a place that’s kind of like a dorm. And for some reason, there is now a human child who is still alive, and their cat is now living with them. They're definitely not in Hell anymore, that's for sure, and since there's no way back, they'll just have to stick around and make the best of it.

Welcome to Twisted Wonderland, You Hazbins!!

Chapter Text

It was right after Crowley allowed Grim and Yuu to stay on campus in exchange for working as janitors when suddenly, an earthquake began. The whole Ramshackle Dorm shook, forcing Grim and Yuu to take shelter under nearby furniture, praying that nothing would collapse on them. They weren't sure if they would make it through, given the state of the dorm - it seemed like a strong breeze could bring it down, let alone an earthquake.

A bright flash of light caught their attention, and when they both opened their eyes, the room looked very different. The sitting room of the dorm had been mixed up with a tacky hotel lobby. The old, dusty Ramshackle Dorm seemed like it had been mashed together with some multi-story hotel, giving off a vibe like Frankenstein had a wild time mixing the two and turned the whole place into a circus freak show.

As Grim and Yuu were still taking in their surroundings, they totally missed the extra folks in the room until two black tentacles swooped in and lifted them off the ground. They realized it was this strange deer beatman who was using his magic to summon the tentacles that had them trapped. They were jostled around until a white lady with rosy cheeks stepped in and told the deer beastman to stop and let them down. The grey woman from the group suddenly pointed a spear at them and asked what was happening and where they were.

The white woman then yelled at the grey one to stop and calm down. She then said to her that they’re just a kid and a cat. Grim starts shouting that he’s not a cat, but a great magician in the making, and he’s not scared of some strange lady waving a pointy stick at them. Yuu tells Grim to shut up and not to make things worse; they really don't want to end up as a human pin cushion.

The white lady came over and checked on Yuu and Grim, making sure they were okay while also introducing herself and her friends. She mentioned that her name is Charlie Morningstar and that the woman who was making threats was her girlfriend, Vaggie. She also introduced her other friends: Alastor, the deer beastman with black magic tentacles; Angel Dust, a pink fluffy spider beastman; Sir Pentious, a snake beastman; Husk, a quirky cat hybrid beastman with wings; and Niffty, a small one-eyed cyclops creature—they weren’t quite sure what to call that last one.

Then Charlie noticed it, Yuu is a living human child. They just threaten a living human child and not a sinner. Charlie's immediate response is to panic and spiral, all sorts of scenarios in her mind on what would happen if people and Heaven finds out that her Hotel has endangered the life of the living recklessly while she was preaching redemption of souls and to see the error of their ways. Vaggie has to pull Charlie aside to calm her down.

As that was happening, the rest of the Hazbin crew started to notice their new surroundings. The hotel they know so well feels different now. There was some new furniture that wasn't there before, and the usual hotel wallpaper has turned into this crazy mix of different styles from the hotel and dorm. It's like a clash of colors and patterns all thrown together in a bit of a mess. It really clashes both ways, and if an interior decorator saw it, they'd probably just pass out.

That's when Crowley came bursting through the front door, asking what's going on. He was on his way back from the school cafeteria after dropping off Yuu’s meal plan when he suddenly felt a massive surge of magical energy coming from the Ramshackle Dorm. And so, when he went to check on it, the dorm building had somehow turned into this tall multistory structure, with what appeared to be a blimp and a ship sticking out from the side. He then spotted the extra people and asked who they were and what they were doing at Night Raven College.

Charlie walks up and says, "Hi, I'm Charlie Morningstar, the Princess of Hell!". Crowley mentioned that this isn't the moment for jokes and insisted they come clean, or he would have to call the authorities. Vaggie was all set to give the crow a piece of her mind for being rude to Charlie, but thankfully, Alastor jumped in to help out. Alastor told Crowley that Charlie is being honest and that they really are demons from Hell. He decided to show off some of his voodoo magic, thinking that a little magic trick would really surprise the crow cosplayer and make them believe him.

But Crowley isn’t impressed at all; if anything, it’s just kind of a letdown. He just told Alastor that one of his school staff has magic that's kind of like his but way more practical and useful. Crowley then whipped up a spell of his own and wiped out all of Alastor’s shadow magic in a flash. Everyone's totally stunned—this regular person, rocking a pretty terrible cosplay, just casually brushes off one of the most powerful Overlords in the Pride Ring magic like it's no big deal. Alastor is really not happy with this; Crowley totally made him look weak in front of everyone, especially Charlie.

Once again, Crowley wants to know who they are, what they're up to, and the situation at hand. Charlie then tells Crowley that they’re being honest, and she transforms into her demon form to prove that it’s all real. Surprised, Crowley asked how this was even possible and whether anyone on campus had done some demon summoning ritual. On the Hazbin side, no one knows the answer; one moment, they were going about their business as they normally would, and the next thing they know, they are here in this strange building that looks like something from a collage gone wrong.

That's when Yuu, who had been hanging out in the background, jumps in and suggests that maybe the Hazbins are like them, someone who got isekai'd from another world with no real reason at all. Crowley thinks Yuu made a solid point and asks the Hazbin crew if they've heard of a place called Twisted Wonderland.

They all said no and claimed they were sinners from Hell who ended up there after dying on Earth. Most of them were from this place called America, but there were a few from other countries, like Sir Pentious, who was from Britain. Yuu jumps in and mentions they’re from Earth as well, but they’re from Japan and definitely not dead like those guys. This raises an interesting theory that Yuu and the Hazbin might come from the same world but exist in different realms. Yuu is from the living realm, while the Hazbins come from the realm of the dead.

Crowley asks Charlie if she knows how to get back to her world, considering she's a Princess and might have the power or knowledge to do it. He also suggests that maybe she should take Yuu along with her. Sadly, she just doesn't have the skills yet, and her magic isn't quite polished enough for her to figure it out. Crowley thought that was pretty disappointing to find out. So, since things have turned out this way, Crowley made the same offer to the Hazbin that he did with Yuu and Grim. They can stay on campus, enjoy food and board, and use the campus facilities in return for working as staff for the school.

Husk jumped in and pointed out that Crowley hasn't really gone over everything with them yet. He just asked them questions and rambled on about how this is another world, without really giving any context. Crowley, being in charge of this supposed place, really should take responsibility and fill them in on what's happening and where this place actually is.

Crowley suddenly realizes he has some important paperwork to take care of as the school principal and needs to head out right away. He nudged Yuu ahead and said, "This kid here will fill you in on everything and answer all your questions." He then took off, leaving Yuu, a child, and Grim alone with a bunch of strange demon adults. Everyone is looking at Yuu, caught in an awkward silence while they try to come up with how to ask the kid questions without freaking him out.
