Chuuya pov

September 25th 2015… A day I’ll never forget…
That day was just a normal Friday. Everyone was ready for the weekend. I walked over to lfDazai’s desk. His brown hair was lmessy and tangled, his eyebags were so noticeable you could spot them from the UK, his bandages were dirty like he had been rolling in dirt, he smelled like a sewer and there was tiredness prominent in his eyes.
“Jeez Mackerel… When was the last time you took care of yourself?” I asked.
“I’ll do it later, I promise.” Dazai replied, sadness was evident in his voice yet I was too obvious to notice.
“You better.” I replied back. I picked up my stuff and headed to my class. The class was boring as hell, all the teacher did was talk about his failing marriage. Eventually school was over.

Dazai’s pov

Today’s Friday. The day I’m gonna carry out my plan. The thought of living is unbearable and I can’t carry on. I don’t have anything to keep me going anymore. I’ve already planned everything.
School was boring as always and Chuuya decided to bother me. I struggle not bringing him with me. I don’t want to leave him but I know he’s not ready to go now.
As I walked back to my house I stopped by a few shops. The first place I stopped by was a hardware, all I bought was rope. The sweet old man at the checkout has no idea what I’m about to do. If he knew he’d definitely stop me. My next stop was 7-11, I got a bento and a monster energy. Might as well fill my belly before my end. The last shop I stopped at was a stationary shop. While I was getting stationary I ran into Atsushi. I’ll miss him greatly but I’ll reunite with him eventually.
At noon I arrived home and went straight to my room and tied the rope and hung it on my ceiling. I started writing my note and I sent my final text to Chuuya, a simple “I love you.”. I put my head through the rope, took a deep breath and stepped off the bed. I felt choked and after a few seconds my body went limp and someone came into the room, it was Oda. I was shocked, Oda had been dead for years and now after so long I see him again. He takes me off the noose and holds me close to him. “Oda…?” I whisper. Tears were rolling down my face as he held me.
“Shhh… Everything is okay you’re free from suffering now…” He whispered as he hugged me.
I start crying. I thought I’d never see him again but here he is and his hugs are still warm and comforting. “Please… don’t leave me again…” I said as I cried.
“I promise. I’ll never leave you again…” Oda said.

Chuuya pov

I was laying in bed when my phone went off. It was a text from Dazai all it said was “I love you” something felt wrong. I didn’t know what felt wrong but something felt very very wrong. I got up and ran out my house and to Dazai’s house.
The front door was cracked just a bit. I ran in and to his room. I gently opened the door… I saw Dazai hanging from the ceiling. His body was limp, the life in his eyes were long gone and there was a note on the bed. I started bawling. I don’t want to believe that he’s dead but his corpse is right in front of me. “Dazai…” I say as I extend my hand to feel his face. He was still warm… I started crying and screaming even more. If I had just came earlier I could’ve stopped him.
I picked up the note and read it. He wrote

“If you’re reading this then I’m dead. I can’t continue living this way, I’m sorry I couldn’t take you with me. I hope that you’ll continue to live a long and healthy and happy life. We’ll meet again someday I don’t know when but I know we’re destined to meet again someday. Love Osamu Dazai.”

Once I finished reading his final note I started crying even more. I gently rocked myself back and forth. I felt like a piece of me was ripped away.

As I cried I felt a presence in the room. Like a spirt was watching me…

Ever since that day I've felt the presence. As if a guardian angel is watching over me to make sure I'm happy…
