Summary:

Seeing the way Akito held Tsukasa is distracting. Terribly so. The way he does it always makes people feel like they’re intruding, when they’re technically not. It would be fine if he were just holding Tsukasa’s hip, for example. He didn’t have to softly rub his thumb against the blond’s hipbone, seriously.

Work Text:

“Should someone remind them that the world isn’t just for them?” –

Tsukasa Tenma is very famous in Kamiyama High for a lot of reasons, whether because of his responsible nature in class, his large social circle, the fact that he’s in Wonderlands x Showtime, or his very, very loud personality. Chances are, a quick search is all it needs to search for him when one needs his presence. He could be annoying, sure, but it’s not like other people are angels compared to him, his quirks became endearing somewhat. Besides, it’s paid off with his other qualities, so it’s not like he had a bad presence in school.

Lately, however, he seems to be more… annoying, lately. To be fair, it’s not him alone. Akito Shinonome, a junior first year, is also to blame. It’s an open secret that they’re friends, mostly because Akito kept insisting they’re not when clearly they are. What with Tsukasa coming by his class to drag him off lunch and how Akito didn’t shy away from teasing his senior back. They’re friends, reluctantly on Akito’s side, but friends nevertheless.

It was a shock, especially to their mutual friends, when they admitted that they were dating. Akito always changed the topic when asked how they came to be, while Tsukasa simply flushed red and started to speak in such a stutter that nobody’s quite sure if he was even speaking Japanese correctly. So basically, two question-mark-friends became boyfriends now, sure. That’s not a problem at all, especially since they technically only told their friends… with some being massive gossipers… and it’s not like they lack popularity… yeah, that just happened.

Neither Akito nor Tsukasa changed a lot, they still act like they always do. The usual bicker present, the lunch-kidnappings happened, and Akito still complains about his insufferable boyfriend like usual. The only difference is the touches , and they’ve since been Kamiyama High’s most hated couple. Only for the fact that they seem to be unintentionally rubbing salt to wound when they do their stupidly sappy love thing nobody even realizes they could do. It’s painful, single and taken alike, their PDAs are like an arrow shot to not only their heart, but every other vital spot that exists.

Because they’re absolutely disgusting. It made people want to gag. Mostly to Akito specifically, because he’s unexpectedly a clingy lover and Tsukasa is a whipped enabler of this behavior. It made people feel sick.

Sure, really, how very annoying your boyfriend is, isn’t he Akito? Why don’t you stop being stupidly tender when holding him and make the girls squeal in glee then?

“They make me feel single, which shouldn’t be possible, I have two girlfriends.” –

Akito is smiling, terribly fond, “Yeah.” He said.

“ I am right!” His lover huffs, arms waving around in dramatics as he recalls what happened… somewhere, about something. Akito’s not quite sure. He’s been nodding but not actually listening.

Tsukasa is warm in his arms, his voice hurts his ears, but Akito will gladly develop a resistance to it. He’s soft to hug too, and lighter than he thought. Having Tsukasa sit on his lap is a nice feeling.

…this is embarrassing. The tips of Akito’s ears warmed, he could feel it. Though he can’t help but feel like it’s worth the embarrassment when Tsukasa starts to put his hands on him. It’s stupid and so small, it’s absolutely mortifying how much Akito adored the way Tsukasa shaped his fingers into an upside-down V and made it walk Akito's arm up to his shoulder.

Tsukasa pauses, “And he just turned back! Can you believe that?!”

“That’s crazy.” Akito blandly comments, nuzzling his boyfriend’s neck and closing his eyes. Everything feels so… correct, right, like nothing in life matters but in a good sort of way. He feels like he’s floating.

The older pouts, “You’re not listening to me.”

“Yeah, I’m not.” Let it be said he can be shameless sometimes.

Tsukasa’s lips wavered, before it turned up and he grins, oh so loving at Akito and sometimes he’s not sure why and how he can deserve this much love and adoration and–

“Did you come back late from practice yesterday?” His voice lowered, gentler, a lullaby to Akito’s ears. His hands stopped whatever it was doing, coming up to caress Akito’s jaw with his thumb, cupping his cheek softly, adoringly. He let out a satisfied sigh, shifting his legs a bit so that Tsukasa sat higher.

“Yeah.” He mutters, nearly forgoing to respond. It’s comfortable like this, him and Tsukasa and nothing else. His internal clock warns him that lunch break is ending in ten minutes and he muffled a groan, “Let’s just go home and cuddle.”

Predictably, Tsukasa didn’t say yes, a shame. Instead he softly scratched behind Akito’s ear, an amused smile on his face if Akito bothered to squint open his eyes. He would’ve complained saying he’s not a cat if it didn’t feel so nice. Even Tsukasa’s fingers are perfect… seriously.

“Just a couple of hours more.” He whispers, pressing a kiss on Akito’s temple, “Then you sleep properly, yes?”

“Will you be there?”

“I don’t know, will I?”

Akito opens his eyes, frowning at his senior.

“Maybe I will.” Said senior giggles.

His peach-tipped blond hair cups his face, with the sunlight, he looked like the most gorgeous being god has ever created.

Akito internally screamed, he wonders when did he become this sappy, he swears he’s not that bad. Though it’s less convincing day by day lately. None of his friends quite believed him either, traitors.

“They look happy together… I’m glad my two favorite people are getting along well.” –

He didn’t have to softly smile against Tsukasa’s lips on the rare occasions they do kiss in front of an audience. He didn’t have to press his lips to Tsukasa’s pulse when they’re holding hands, or pepper kisses to his knuckles, acting like godforsaken prince charming. A lot of boyfriends have been side-eyed by their lovers lately, he is so to blame.

And Tsukasa would just laugh, bright and delighted. He would squeeze a hug from his boyfriend holding into his arm and just– ugh. Ugh.

Notes:

im unusually hungry today, which is weird, since i can ignore hunger pretty well
