Chapter 1: The "library"

Chapter Text

Library

They were in an almost empty library except for a few librarians here and there but nothing too extreme. Sitting on the floor, behind the rows of bookshelves (without books for...safety reasons), Acoite, Death and Theodore were in the middle of another game of Yahtzee.

The dices clatter softly as they hit the soft foam of the dice tray.

All 5 of them Came to a stop, the number reads 4 4 1 6 6

“Ooh nice one” Theo commented

Death’s ears perk up “I could go for a full house with this!”

Acoite gave him a mocking scoff

“Death” He started “Shouldn’t you go for sixes?”

Death’ eyes are on him as he speak

“You said you are a god, didn’t you?”

Acoite smiled at him smugly

- “You’ll just go with the safe choice, eh? coward

. . .

Death glare at Acoite before putting the other two sixes in the tray

“I was just about to go for sixes actually

“Ah of course of course” Acoite said

“I could easily get all six” death responded

“Watch.” He said as he shakes the dice cup

The dices clattered on the tray

Acoite watches, his ears droop

The dices slowed down to a stop

Acoite slammed on the table and screamed

“RIGGED. RIGGED. YOU CHEATER”

While death cackled manically “AHAHAHAHA YESSS

The number reads 6 5 5

Theodore watches in amusement as Acoite throw out more accusation at Death, who is rolling on the floor laughing- though it started to sound a lot like he is barking.

Then suddenly they stopped.

The air went still

Their ears twitched

Before Theodore realizes what is happening, Acoite had tackled him to the floor “oof wha- “

Shh” Acoite shushed him

He finally hears it. Footsteps.

Accompanied by the screeching sound of metal on wooden floor

He should’ve known the loud noises would attract them...

Librarians

Acoite repositioned himself so that Theodore was lying flat on the floor with Acoite on top

One of them got a little bit too close. Death growled.

The librarian, not interested in Death decided to leave.

A few minutes passes...

Acoite got off Theodore.

“Mm, you should probably pick a better spot next time.” Acoite said
